The ballroom was on the 3rd floor. - that is what they turned into the theatre. My family used to own this house after the o’conners. To film it professionally you would need a pretty large light kit. There is a lot more to that home you don’t see in the video. It was a great place and great location.
The old O'Conner's home! I grew up with one knowing their kids in school, and yes I remember the house well, in the 1970s... it had a ballroom on the second floor!
I too was friends with Billy. This was just a huge family home. I know it fell into disrepair at one point. A lot of maintenance. But was restored to some glory. Was featured I thought in Better Homes and Gardens or some magazine like that. We used to play basketball in the ballroom.
Beautiful stately home but that music feels incredibly dramatic and sad. Just my opinion, but to me it does not say, "move your family here and you will have a happy, enjoyable life." It says something like "move your family here and you will have a ton of dramatic and not necessarily good surprises..."
I remember driving past this mansion on Delmar hundred of times in the 90s and now I lived in SoCal( hated it). This home was Meticulously cared for! Stunning! I hated when people “ modernized “ interior of their historic homes to looks like modern houses and sacrifices any old world charm and character. This mansion retains 95% of its original elements and that’s so valuable because once the owner took off all the original interior, it won’t come back.
Such a dark place to live. Its dark its not comfortable, everything seems like old grandmas house. Why the hell its so dark? Like lights are on and still, I dont see anything good in this house.
I lived for years in a one bedroom in Dogtown. This one is beautiful but if I hadn't had to move I would still live in Dogtown. I loved the neighborhood feel there.
The realtor really should hire a professional videographer, although the long pause at 2:28 gave an incredible detail shot of the door hinge. BTW, who on earth would want to live in St. Louis?
BTW....nobody. This area is better than most; this is more University City. A Washington University Professor or Researcher might want this, or someone who works downtown, maybe Barnes Jewish Hospital or in the Hospital Complex. Lots of traffic on Delmar, but a quick jump onto hwy 270 or Forest Park Pwy. Not far from the Loop. For proximity to St.Louis, this would be considered a desirable area.
does this house belong to Michael buie and 8s his credit cards inside and is his wife and kids there 2ith him and are they enjoying the city and life in general and the escalade and amcs and friends and cool family living life no beef no problems with anyone nice home it really is probably needs retouch work but nice it seems
I'd feel morally bankrupt living in such splendor for just a small family when so many are homeless. My money is better spent elsewhere and brings greater satisfaction.
One of the "people's leaders" from Antifa or black lives matters lives in that building now. -whaddah think they were doing with all the money they coerced big business and academia and big tech.....helping the downtrodden? 🤣
These homes along Delmar = AMAZING ! These homes and Central West End STUNNING
I think... these GRAND homes on Delmar were built just a little after the 1904 Worlds Fair... similar to the ones in Compton Heights...
The house is just stunning and the music is wonderful wonderfully done thank you

I would love to purchase it as I am looking for a big place like this to purchase.

Anyone know where to find the photos life magazine took when the oconnors moved in?

I agree with u about the music selection
Isn't it the same music often featured on Downton Abbey?? That's where I feel like I've heard it before
@@twistoffate4791 Definitely not the theme music. Maybe they used it once but wasn't familiar to me and I watched the show.
@@twistoffate4791 Listening to this, I think it's the fast piano in parts that reminds you of Downton Abbey.
Classically beautiful. The owners have good taste.
I know 2 of the children that lived there. The Oconnors. They owned Ronnoco Coffee. They went bankrupt
Gorgeous home.
Beautiful!! Nice Stately Home
Very nice but so dark even though it's a sunny day.

Q casa maravilhosa! Fiquei fascinada pelos quartos!
This is such a beautiful home. I wonder if anyone lives in it, now? I would choose to live in a smaller home, touring it in person would be wonderful.
Beautiful and gracious. 😢😮😅😊

I disagree about the music. I found it to be inviting
I have no doubt this is a wonderful home, but the videography is subpar.
Beautiful piece of property....you need Laine and Kevin of Our Restoration Nation to feature this property !
I loved!
Magnificent home, but the repetitive and mawkish music doesn't do it justice.
Beautiful home, decor is not good though.
ones taste...
Beats the appliance box I live in.
Is it really that dark in this house? It felt like a funeral parlor
Too many trees and overgrown bushes blocking natural light.
Big enough for my Family to vacation!!! Come see Nana!!
it looks nice
is there anything wrong with it
Beautiful !
Must be nice to live in a palace. I have a one bedroom in dogtown
Since 1 9 6 4 , poor people get the shaft all the time

This was the Oscar Hammerstein home, whose wife was agoraphobic!
Is this mansion for sale? I'm looking for mansion to buy out there. Send me info thanks . Beautiful mansion .

Same.
I am homeless and celebrate when people can live well. It would be a pretty dismal world if only the mundane existed.
LaTiDa
So you live in a tent?
Who live there
