Dance Floor DIY

- I built my own folding practice dance floor out of plywood. I used Bobby White's Swungover Blog as a guide.
Since it's COVID, the cost of plywood is expensive. I paid about $50 for the 3/4" pine plywood. The hinge cost $5 (screws included). Varnish: $8. I used almost the entire can. I found the mineral spirits in our garage. We already had the electric drill and belt sander.
My goal was to make a floor small enough that I could move it myself. Yet, large enough for comfortable solo practice and partnered balboa. It's possible to do a swingout on the diagonal, but not a very dynamic one.

Nice I think I will do this build to, for practice in my garage! IT is pretty neat
You should! Let me know how it comes out! You can make it from thinner plywood (so it's easier to move) and use the whole sheet. I had to share the plywood, so it's a bit small.
What brand of polyurethane did you use ? Is it slick enough for Balboa ?
It was Varathane brand. The only one my local hardware store had. It's slick enough for Bal, but I don't practice slides on it (not quite slick enough for that).
Love it!
Thank you for your help making it!
Which wood is it
Description says plywood
