Sorry, used to do that when we had the farm, 200 qts of tomatoes alone, big family with hard working boys? I just ain't doing it,& I garden. I'm single no children, the situation is very different in every way. No basement like the farm house,,a mobile home up off the ground in W.N.Y. east of buffalo. If I leave or the power goes out at even 20°f ,they will all freeze & break in 24 hrs or less. I switched to freezing them, they taste fine till next year, but! If they freeze, not a problem. Atleast I can plug in a generator if I need to in warmer weather. I'm dumping mine back in the compost right now! Its 89° in here & only 73° out side. Just not doing it,1 pot of boiling water & talk 95° plus day or night. It was 90° at sundown last night in here & I never got it under 83° in here with 5 fans sucking in 70° or less & blowing out 83 - 90° all damn night. Compost! Ain't doing it again, not even blanch water for freezing,I'll buy canned first, it's cheaper than my utilities would be. Infact, I'm not freezing or canning nothing this year,& likely wont bother with a garden ever again. It's all compost & I been ripping it out for 2 weeks. I live on 1 of the busiest routes in america & put out a veggie stand for friday - friday & not 1 car stopped. No one wants the stuff? I guess They like that soft ,wrinkled up ,scarred up, tiny, month old moldy shit at walmart for $1.50 each? Bless them, it's all they getting now. So no,no point in even bothering with gardening more than 12 foot × 12 foot.

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar ontop of every qt before you give lid the final crank keeps food poisoning out.
