Hi Ladies, I am also a big cheerlearding partner stunt fan. While cheering comes from sport but also aims to be gracious and look easy for the spectator, ballet pas de deux comes from dance and becomes more an more athletic and difficult for both parts. In both cases, the man uses his strenght to make the woman shine but both have to be equally athletic and gracious This is a wonderful metaphore of the encounter of a man and a woman, yet different but aiming for the same love.
I don’t understand what pas de deux means. My fundamental French interpretation is not of two but it’s two dancers. Yes I’d love to see you both dance something you love to dance. Please
Absolutely delightful! Just out of curiosity, do these choreographers harbor secret resentments against the dancers? Just wondering because it sounds like a lot of things are made more difficult than they need to be. Although, I suppose they do is create a certain artistic result. Eg pirouetting in 1 direction, suddenly having to do the opposite. It reminded me of the dad in "Calvin & Hobbes" - he was really tired of reading 6 yo Calvin the same story ("Hamster Huey and the Gooey Kablooey" by Mabel Syrup) night after night after night. He grumbled that children's book authors should be forced to read their own books every day, and that architects should be forced to live in the buildings they design. So I suppose he would say that choreographers should be forced to do the dances they are choreographing. 😂 Thank you so much for the video! Have a lovely week! 🙏💚🦢☀️
I always thought Johann Strauss had nothing to do with ballet, only the dances you will see in January in Vienna, especially if you know about the Vienna new year concert every year on 1st January. For example, I like keeping up with the San Francisco ballet bc I find their work intellectually rigorous and often historically interesting. I love ABT and NYC ballets for their exciting collabs and new choreography (especially the musicians they work with)! I’m curious about more companies. No worries if you don’t get around to this 😄
