- I've been curious to see how good (or bad) eBay coilovers can be on the F10. I decided to try out Rev9 based on their mostly positive feedback among the eBay coilover brands. Overall, I am unexpectedly happy with them! This is my review of them.
HOW TO INSTALL COILOVERS WHEN YOU HAVE EDC (how I did it)-
1- Link up with RVG and arrange a day and time you expect to be ready for coding
1- install coilovers
2- Disconnect your VDC module
3- have RVG remote in (your will need a laptop with internet access and Team Viewer Pro version- still free software, and an ethernet to OBD2 cable)
4- Let them do their job and you'll be good to go shortly!

Rev9 Coilover direct link (note that I bought mine through eBay and since I bought them for $532 plus tax... as of the day I'm editing this video they seem to have gone up about $200!). Note that these are for RWD!

I haven't used the Rev 9s on my BMW but I put them on my Lexus GS300 and I love them. I was thinking about putting them on my 2012 535i but unfortunately they don't make them for xdrive.
I hope they release one soon! I had a few other XDrive folks expressing interest as well
3 months after the video posted. How are they feeling? Im in the market to replace my factory. So sick of that junk. Overpriced OEM.
I'mlooking into buying asap. As mine are bottoming out and are ruining my tires fast. Thanks for the update. Love the hoodie. Might have to get me one from my local dealer hahaha.
Man I’m still happy with them! Like I warned in the video though, they can ride harshly on rough roads. But you got used to it (and get better at dodging those imperfections lol). Still very happy with them overall!
That looks great!
Let me know if you wanna sell the H&R springs..
Thanks bro! Shoot me an email with a reasonable offer and I can ship them your way next week!
Nice video, also that BMW hoodie is dope! Is that from the dealer?
Yes it is! But here’s a tip to save you some money- if you have a Puma Store (the maker of most current BMW gear) nearby, go to there and buy it there. Should be cheaper than at a dealer with their markup. They typically have a whole section for BMW gear.
@@turbospool good call! I checked on the Puma site, and I don't see that exact one that you got. Some other nice ones, but I dig that one the most haha!
@@JDMsohc dang! They must have ended is with the season. Booo! Lol yea mine is maybe 2yo.
For my 98 corolla I set front to 14 and rear. 25. Perfect for me
Nice! I’ve considered increasing the dampening on the rear a bit. It’s cool to see what others run in their cars/ what works best for them. Thanks for sharing!
Great review. How did you get them for $500 ish? On sale? They are $760 now
I think their price went up between when i ordered them in mid February to when I was editing the video. Because eBay and Rev9 directly were both selling this same kit then for $533+ tax. I paid $577 out the door. So i guess I just had lucky timing!
I found them for 532 on here
Did you have a plug Connector on the top of the shocks for edc
No, my EDC connectors were on the sides of the original struts. They did not go out the tops. The harnesses ran parallel with the ABS harness at the wheel hubs.
@@turbospool ok so if I don’t have that on the side of the struts or on the top then I won’t have that error code even though I have sport and sport+ mode for my car
How much to code out your vdc with rvg what’s that device you can just buy to code out your vdc plug and play
you'd have to reach out to him. It varies depending on the specific equipment that came in your car (more modules that involve EDC, more coding he has to do)
I forgot who makes the PnP harness kit but last I saw it was like $520 for that and I saw it on TireRack and a few other vendors that sold it for even more.
So if i am correct, I can buy rev9 rwd coilovers and put them on my xdrive just fine? Besides coding out the errors.
Negative. The fronts are different because of the axles having to go through the bottom. You have to get coilovers SPECIFICALLY for x-drive unfortunately
Hello , I bought BC Racing coiloveres for my F10 535i , and after installation I got the Stability Malfunction code. I wanted to ask how I can do a EDC remove to get rid of the code
Hello! Did you watch the video to the end? I cover the two options available to eliminate the EDC errors (KW Error eliminator kit, OR remote coding by a BMW Coder such as RVG Performance)
@@turbospool Hey , yes I watched the end after posting the comment lol. thanks!
@@mody766 haha i figured you asked the question while watching so you wouldn’t forget it lolol. Good luck! And congrats on the BCs!
Coiled UP!!! 😍
Yas finally bit the bullet and tried it out doc!
Excellent
Thank you so much!
You are a brave man sir lol
Been curious for years good sir! Finally had an excuse to take the plunge and see what it would take lol.
