The ultra-wealthy record labels will never allow this kind of good, true music to be revived because they are not on the side of LOVE, SOUL, or THE PEOPLE.
First off can we talk about how gorgeous Queen latifah & her mom is it's like she never ages and how she embraced the other beautiful black women in this video the 90s had such rare Beauty for black women.
In 1991 I was an 18 year old white girl from Greece and this song was my ANTHEM. 30 years later still I'm jumping when I hearing it. *Thank you Queen Latifah, gorgeous woman, symbol to all women* black, white, yellow, green, whatever!

No, the roots of Hip Hop were set 10-15 years before this track. It somehow followed the roots before mainstream media and MTV forced Hip Hopers to go back to the undground or to team up with jazzmen
Back in the 80's and up until 1991, this was just another song, that's how good the music was then in comparison to now. The generation now has no idea and we were blessed to come up during the time we did in the 70's-80's into the 90's and I can stop just listening to music from 1991 or 1992 and be cool from that time backwards -- there's nothing that came out afterwards that I needed to hear that added anything.
IDC wat no one says the lady is the epitome of beauty and #class. She has talent as an MC and actress. Iam so happy she is living her truth, she deserves all the happiness. Much love #Queen the one and only.
Bout time TB released this classic video from The Queen. Fly Girl my second favorite track off Queens Nature of a Sista album right after Latifah's Had It Up 2 Here!
I loved this song when I first saw it on Yo MTV Raps! That was an amazing era, acts just constantly breaking. It was such a struggle to see Yo. At first it was on like once a week, then more often but at night I think, then eventually got it's own daily show, around the time of Funky Cold Medina.
I don't know why I thought this was a new jack swing song. Probably the singing style. Plus 89-91 songs that didn't have a super hard or street track often sounded NJS friendly
“I’m not the girl you think I am.” Her wife would 100% agree. Love Queen!
Man, this was my jam during my boarding school days in Nigeria 🇳🇬
yup....
