Welcome to the official Roll with Cole & Charisma TH-cam channel! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Cole! Ok, you guys have been in CA for a nice while now, I would like to know how both you're Parents adjusted and are doing with you guys being in CA. How are they feeling? Are they missing you guys like crazy? I know that they are abundantly PROUD of you both, because you guys are amazing and true go getters. So, can you guys do like a zoom with all of you guys to let us know how things are going with the Parents? Charisma, I wondered if you ever missed your work in physical therapy, because you seemed to really enjoy helping others, so it was nice to hear that you do miss it sometimes.
This video was a blessing for me. Thanks C&C and Sophie. I love the look and style of your patio. Good job Charisma on decorating your outdoor space. I have a question, how does working out help you Cole? I just wondered what the benefits are for you and anything else that is interesting about why you work out. I've never really seen you talk about it or do it before. Anyways, this was a great video I love watching you two doing life together. And it's always a very enjoyable time for me and I appreciate you guys very much.
A couple ways his workout benefits him is that it helps maintain range of motion and flexibility. It also improves circulation and can affect bone density. It also increases endorphins…. Really there’s just as many reasons for Cole to work out as someone who doesn’t have quadriplegia. Still, yours is a good question because it doesn’t immediately compute. 👍
Circulation and shifting body weight when standing...blood flow even though muscles don't work...arteries still carry blood

Thanks for the inspiration! I’m trying to get back to my PT/OT after too much time off. I got a lift after seeing you guys demo it and my neurologist agreed! Now that I’m not terrified of spending the day on the floor I’m getting back to trying to use my walker rather than staying safe(r) in my chair!

Great to see you standing. My husband Simon was injured in 1984 c5/6 he didn't stand nearly enough and sadly developed osteoporosis and has struggled with hip fractures etc. He does however have his 40 year anniversary next year so clearly he did something right to stay so well at 64 years young.😊
It's really great that Cole is trying to improve his situation instead of just being dormant if you start reading this book "The power of the subconscious mind" by Dr. Joseph Murphy this one guy that was pretty much like Cole started saying to himself several times a day I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious and happy he did it in the early morning and at night before going to bed and it paid off because his twisted body became strong, straight, well formed. He went from not being able to walk to this transformation hope you try it.

I’m going to try to say this every day for my mental health. Thank you for sharing 🙏 We all need positive affirmations today!
There is a difficult balance to be struck - finding the positives in your situation/perceiving your situation in positive ways can be very enriching but a lot of positive thinking ideology can set one up for failure - 'if you just believe strongly enough, your situation will change'. What does this do to one psychologically when that change doesn't happen? This approach is at the root of a lot of religious practices including prayer-based conversion therapy. Derren Brown explores this big, complex issue in his book 'Happy'. Happiness is not contingent on other people's (or even our own) ideas of perfection or normality.
@@vickyfisher2139 I think if you read the book you would come away with a better understanding because it's not about just saying a few positive things but getting to know your subconscious and it's purpose in your life. I can tell you this that when I read the book I gained a better understanding of myself and wonderful things started happening I mean what do you have to lose?
@@politicsinplainenglish1791 It is great that you have had such a positive experience and I was not commenting about that book specifically as I haven't read it - I just wanted to raise the concern that some 'positive thinking' dogma causes more harm than good for some people and that positive thinking and outcomes do not necessarily equate with 'you can achieve anything if you believe/want it strongly enough'. Being "whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious and happy" does not rely on being able to walk (for example).

The balcony looks amazing. I have never seen one so large! Quick note though, you'll want to take the candles in during summer days or they will melt and the battery could explode.
