Definitely the coldest bass line ever. Remember hearing this for the first time in July 1979; my dad bought me a bass guitar that Christmas. I learned it note for note. This group, this song, this bass player, is the reason why I play bass. Period.
To bad modern R & B does not sound as good as this. It's hard to believe that this song came out back in 1979, it still makes anyone want to get up and dance! Steve Arrington, Starleana Young, Floyd Miller, Carter Bradley, Steve Washington, and Tom Lockett Jr.. Last but not least Mark " The Hansolor" Adams (bass) and Mark "Drac" Hicks ( guitar). Rest In Peace, gone to soon. Thank you Paul Simpson for this mix and Halofreak 117 for posting eleven minutes of pleasure!!!!!!
Ur bet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Phewwwwww............. Played the drums but .... this....... Level 42... same.... errrr. Greetz from Belgium. Keep it up grrrrrrrrrr
This is a great remix of the Slave classic.Slave is one of the best funk bands of all time who never got the recognition that they truly deserved.R.I.P.Mr Mark Adams, and Mark Drac Hicks.
Like ice cream on a hot day, not even gravity can pull anyone from this utterly wicked song and especially that over the clouds bass line. A truly timeless song.
This tune still sounds fresh as it did many years ago. I can say, positively, Slave will make you want to dance and enjoy yourself. Awesome times, enjoying this "FUNK BAND"!
Unforgettable dance track from the class of 79” greatly enhanced by this joyous extended remix! 👑👑👑👑🎵🎵👍🎤🎤🎤🎤✌️♥️♥️🥵🥁🥁🪩🪩🪩🪩🌙🎹🎉🎉☀️☀️🔥🔥🔥🔥💰💰💰💰💎💎💎💎⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Omg this song brings me back to HS, happy memories... but makes me a bit sad too thinking of beloveds who have transitioned. RIP Dad Edward, Mom Jimmie Sue, and sister Sharon 🙏🏿
That funky bassline is era defining, it pretty much set the benchmark for the genre. MFSB "Mysteries of the world" rustled up some of the tightest bass that I ever heard at about that time, insane instrumentals.
Just A Touch Of Love remix is so 🔥fire me and all my friends decide to move back all the furniture and so we would have an open in the middle of the living room floor so we can all get our 💃dance to theses funky tunes. The remix of Just A Touch Of Love by the group Slave is so 🔥fire we just couldn't resist we had to 💃dance to it. Later and peace and much love to master's who were responsible for creating such a master piece of dance music. Love Mr. 👑King Ecstacy🎇...
Unabashed dance floor-funk, with a such an in your face bassline that it steals the show from it's just a touch of innocence chorus. Put on your headphones and walk around the hood jammin' to this song and your view of the world will change, just a touch.
Bootsy is a super rubbery funk monster (in a splendid way), but Mark’s work on this track is also a definite GEM. The guitars (bass included) and drums on the original version absolutely COOK like a funk band who also knows how to ROCK. The boys in Chic considered themselves to be a “disco rock band”, and Slave definitely qualifies as well!
Interesting info: Paul Simpson actually did this in 1994. I've seen the studio DAT that has this as well as his unreleased r&b and house remixes of Gwen McCrae's "Funky Sensation" and his remixes of Slave's "Watching You" which also has Terry Burrus on the keyboard. Amazing stuff.
Wow! I kinda like this, doesn't take too much away from the original. Very smooth and clever. Definitely a backyard BBQ lawn filler. Beats per minute has obviously increased so make sure you stretch before you dance to this timeless track. The keyboards and high frequency inserts every 16 beats are a nice touch as well.
What memories this song brings....standin' around with the bros', boom box chrome glistening in the streetlight.....the sound of pure funk echoing all around the quad....passin' the bone... Damn I miss those days..... But am forever blessed with the funk in my soul.... I will have my day in the next life....
The piano player is the legendary Terry Burrus, who has played piano on a ton of Frankie Knuckles / David Morales (Def Mix) productions and remixes. Terry is also the piano player on the classic "Funkin For Jamaica" by Tom Browne.
TB’s gift is that he knows when to go hard & then take it down in the right spots. He stays in his lane, & That’s the mark of a true journeyman. More musicians need to take heed. One love -two love- three love four , Damn It Man We Need More. ✌🏼
I came to Boston from near Chicago. I went to places where DJs from New York exposed us to the latestand greatest in Dance Music. This will always be one of my favorites because I didn't know that there was music like this. Pure Perfection❣️🎼🎵🎶🎼🎶💃🕺💃🕺💃😍😍🤩🤩
Who'd have thought you can take something already perfect and rocket it up even more- all the way to eleven! You did a remix that didn't radically change what we love, just gave us more of it in a new package- Excellent work!
AGREE 100% A good remix can make an already excellent track even better and on this one it really has, well done i remix too i love DJ ing mixing remixing is bad very bad love it.

Definitely the coldest bass line ever. Remember hearing this for the first time in July 1979; my dad bought me a bass guitar that Christmas. I learned it note for note. This group, this song, this bass player, is the reason why I play bass. Period.

This is a great remix of the Slave classic.Slave is one of the best funk bands of all time who never got the recognition that they truly deserved.R.I.P.Mr Mark Adams, and Mark Drac Hicks.
It's that northern California vibe u know, back in the early 80's this was popular & us chicana's loved it 😚

Shifting rhythms over that bassline with stacked vocals on top make this irresistible!

Starlena Jones with the hook!!!!
Mark Adams is the best of the best.
one of the baddest remixes of all time.R.I.P. to the late great Mark Adams.
This was one of the best groups in the world they don't make music like this no more
The best group of the 80s.
Dear millennials the message is that old school RULES!
Like ice cream on a hot day, not even gravity can pull anyone from this utterly wicked song and especially that over the clouds bass line. A truly timeless song.
I just heard this remix not too long ago and I can't stop playing it! Love the way that ivory gets "tickled"! PHONKY!!!
This tune still sounds fresh as it did many years ago. I can say, positively, Slave will make you want to dance and enjoy yourself. Awesome times, enjoying this "FUNK BAND"!
Another Remix I have never heard before, this is nice. Piano solo by Terry Burrus is killer too!
I LOVE IT 🎶🎶🎶💪🏿🎶🎶🎶
Fantastic piece of art. Well done. Bass line is UNTOUCHABLE.
Wowww!!.....Never knew this had a keys solo!!....Gotta keep this!
Unforgettable dance track from the class of 79” greatly enhanced by this joyous extended remix! 👑👑👑👑🎵🎵👍🎤🎤🎤🎤✌️♥️♥️🥵🥁🥁🪩🪩🪩🪩🌙🎹🎉🎉☀️☀️🔥🔥🔥🔥💰💰💰💰💎💎💎💎⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Incredible Musician
R.I.P. Mr. Webster

Omg this song brings me back to HS, happy memories... but makes me a bit sad too thinking of beloveds who have transitioned. RIP Dad Edward, Mom Jimmie Sue, and sister Sharon 🙏🏿
A major league, All-Star, Hall of Fame Classic!
That funky bassline is era defining, it pretty much set the benchmark for the genre. MFSB "Mysteries of the world" rustled up some of the tightest bass that I ever heard at about that time, insane instrumentals.
Oh for sure! That Philly sound was insane indeed.
My favorite bassist Mark Adams untouchable

True there, he did that song "Wait for me"
Unabashed dance floor-funk, with a such an in your face bassline that it steals the show from it's just a touch of innocence chorus. Put on your headphones and walk around the hood jammin' to this song and your view of the world will change, just a touch.
The late Mark Adams killed it on that Bass, never heard a Bass played so funky before.
You'll like Bootsy Collins
Bootsy is a super rubbery funk monster (in a splendid way), but Mark’s work on this track is also a definite GEM. The guitars (bass included) and drums on the original version absolutely COOK like a funk band who also knows how to ROCK. The boys in Chic considered themselves to be a “disco rock band”, and Slave definitely qualifies as well!
Boogie Mosson. Parliament Funkadelic.
💪🏾
Bootsy’s work on Sir Nose was ridiculous I’m well versed. P-Funk
Saweeeeeet! Old School will always be the best! Totally Real Music! ')
He’s fucking awesome!
Damn! I'm a dj an producer. Don't think I could have pulled that off that good.
I could drive non-stop to New York with Slave in my system, especially this smooth remix cut! Great job Mr. Simpson!!!!
This jam just overtook me with joyful emotions, realizing this groove, this sentiment, this rythym is me through and through
Best "Just A Touch Of Love" mix I ever heard.
No
THE PIANO SOLO! THE PIANO SOLO!

This album locked in the Slave sound with Steve Arrington.😁
The piano player is the legendary Terry Burrus, who has played piano on a ton of Frankie Knuckles / David Morales (Def Mix) productions and remixes. Terry is also the piano player on the classic "Funkin For Jamaica" by Tom Browne.
Thanks for the info. That piano plays is off da chain!!!!
