This is the shit and I forgot that there was a long version of this song. My momma used to jam this when I was a little girl and I'm 51 years old, now. I listened to the whole 19 minutes of this song. Thank you!
I’m only 20 so I heard this song for the first time on good burger right at the time technology was making us socially numb and I remember digging it up on TH-cam or something it was my favorite song ever. Don’t remember listening to them anymore than that. Anyways I took lsd a few months ago and now I can’t stop studying these people !!! The music makes me feel connected which now I realize was the whole purpose of parliament funkadelic…. connecting the holy heavens to our human heart. Music is treasure I’m gonna funk forever ☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼
This reminds me of the back yard fish fry, slow cooked pulled pork, steamed crawdads, boiled snaping turtle, wienerschnitzle and Tatonka! The adults danced, partied and I gained a cousin or two from the pre-party weddings to start the festivals. Man! Life was so simple back then. You did or you didn't; you would or you wouldn't. But it ain't like that anymore.
I remember sneaking this album out of my sisters crates of albums and playing this before she came home from work. Been funky since I was 6 gonna funky when I die!!!
😂🤣😂🤣 I would always be in my big brother's room while he was at work. I was told to stay out of there not only by him but my parent's too. Ima let you know right now, I took that punishment. Thought I was slick getting up out of there 10 minutes before he got home. All he had to do was touch the record player and all hellllll broke out. Saved his summer job money to buy a stereo system and gave me his record player. I was sooooo happy that I could sneak his records in my room 😂🤣😂🤣 this album was one.

I remember my mother used to go bowling every Friday night and we would blast music. It was almost time for her to come home and my brother turn the radio off right as this song was coming on for the very first time. I turned it back on to this 15 minute long song more than prepared to get in trouble for this masterpiece. I was already a funkateer at the age of 11, but this has been one of my favorite songs ever since. So fitting to just happen to have it come up on my 53rd birthday! SOMETHING ABOUT THE MUSIC GOT INTO MY PANTS. And the first song with Phillipe Wynne and Funkadelic
They don't make music like this anymore! But it is still slammin' to this day. I was a DJ back in college ('77 to '81) and when l played this (the 15 minute album version) and backed it up with 12" version of Rappers Delight (by the Sugar Hill Gang) you got your "full body workout", for real! This is my all time favorite Parliament / Funkadelic joint. I can listen to this anytime of day! It does take me back to the simpler times. I wish l could find this version on Spotify! When l really get reminiscent, l go to the den, turn on the amp, throw the album on the turntable and crank up the volume! There's nothing like it! I have a disco and old school rap, r & b and jazz vinyl collection about 240 albums and 12" deep from the late 70's, 80's and early 90's. I can go back anytime l get ready!
This has got to be one of the best party songs of all time. Always getting people up off their seats and out onto dance-floor. This tune is packed with so many elements of funk or should say fun as this is what funk is all about. "Chicken ain't lickin', the moose wasn't cookin."

Not just knee deep,.but one nation under a groove, atomic dog etc. Great music and great music to do the hustle on. When I listen to George Clinton I go way way back.
Did full cardio workout to this today with my baby girl. She was tired but we 🔥🔥🔥those calories off super fast and the fact that the music made an already difficult process fly by. We didn't realize the song was 19 minutes until after the fact🤷. Love this group honestly. Real music and artistry that can be played around everyone. Nothing too out of order.
