    If your jackshaft was also used as the swingarm pivot, you solve a few problems. The chain tension changing with swingarm travel would go away as would the squatting effect caused by engine torque pulling on the rear sprocket. Just put a couple of plates from the swingarm legs to the jackshaft & run a couple of bearings in them.

    • @boydrogers7227
      @boydrogers7227 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've always wondered why every swing arm design doesn't do this.

    • @bwxmoto
      @bwxmoto 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was thinking that too but I thought he said the swing arm was at way too steep an angle with that setup. Maybe making a swing arm that drops down at the rear would work? Not sure. I'd want chain to not lose tension rather than have swing arm angle perfect though.

    • @vk2aafhamradio
      @vk2aafhamradio 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@boydrogers7227 Some motorcycles do put the swingarm pivot very close to the output drive sprocket but it's mechanically complex to share the output shaft with the swingarm pivot axle when you're using a transmission. A jackshaft is a bit more flexible in this regard. Greg could do this very easily, he is very handy with fabrication. He could fit a couple of bearings in pinch clamps on the end of the plates running to the swingarm legs.

    • @SportbikerNZ
      @SportbikerNZ 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It'd look janky as the swingarm would have to go around the outside of the frame.

    Great upgrades.I put a 212cc on a Tomas mini dirt bike and I had the same issue with the back shock so I wielded another bigger shock over it like a sleeve.The Gas tank looks great.

    I know it would be a little more complicated but why not combine the jack shaft and swing arm pivot point. That should eliminate the need for a chain tensioner and lighten up the rear end slightly.
    We picked up 2 yerfdog 3202's last year for $200 each. One is completely original the other one I swapped a Predator 212 on and did the governor and oil shut off elimination. Then added a stage one kit. Still trying to find a good flowing muffler (cheap) to quiet it down. Would love a suggestion if you have any thanks. Keep up the great work / videos. My wife and I watch all you videos together.
