    Eggs probably made your hair feel dry because its a protein treatment meant to strengthen the hair, not moisturize or soften it. I used to be quite sensitive to protein so egg, soy sauce, and rice water treatments always left my hair brittle, hard, and dry. Instead, I switched to herbal remedies; things like henna, amla, and fenugreek! My hair is softer and stronger than ever now, thank the Lord Jesus Christ!

    • @hyacinthdibley2420

      Ive been wanting to go the herb route as well. The proteins you mentioned also try to break my hair.
      What’s your regimen for the herbs you mentioned, please? Thanks so much.

    I'm an Indian and I've seen my parents and grandparents dye their hair with henna. Since,We have Black hair only the grey/white strands get dyed.
    We mix the henna paste with tea/coffee decoction and let it on the kitchen counter overnight. So, that the dye activates.
    Application is quite similar, but if you want the colour, wash it after 4 hours and if you just want the conditioning benefits, leaving the pack for an hour is sufficient.
    Don't wash it off with shampoo. Just rinse it with lukewarm water.

    Great video! I love henna in my hair! For added moisture, I like to add aloe vera powder to the henna mix. Also, a pro tip for those trying henna for the first time, rinse it out with a co-wash or cheapie conditioner. It really helps to rinse out the henna easier. My next henna treatment is happening this coming weekend! It's a messy process, but the resulting hair is worth it! :)

    • @gclady1536
      @gclady1536 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Many thanks for responding, but I tried just the soaking the fenugreek in water method first before I made the oil. Unfortunately, I couldn’t take the smell. It was too strong of a curry smell and the odor was offensive to both me and my family. Because I now purchased all the other ingredients to make the oil, I’m trying to figure out if I can just use these all as a mask or pre-poo and wondered if my hair would benefit from that type of treatment since I’ll have to shampoo that smell out of my hair after. I also got an idea from another person who said I should mix the seeds in rose water, then add seeped hibiscus water and that will mask the fenugreek curry smell completely. I have the rose water but have to find hibiscus. Any advice you have on any of my concerns are appreciated.

    • @VyalaBloom
      @VyalaBloom  5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@gclady1536 The smell can definitely be too strong for some. In an oil you should not be able to smell the fenugreek at all, with all the other herbs and essential oils helping to mask the smell.
      Another thing that I’ve been doing recently since getting box braids is to brew all of the herbs (moringa, bhrami, amla, and hibiscus… though you can use whatever you have available)) in some hot water, let it sit for about 30 minutes, and add that to my fenugreek tea… also adding essential oils. That also has helped mask the fenugreek smell quite well.
      You can absolutely use these herbs as a mask or pre-poo! I personally like to blend my fenugreek seeds into a paste (I have a video on that if you’re curious) and add that and the other herbs and some olive oil into some mashed avocado. And again all of the other ingredients mask the fenugreek smell completely. To be safe I like to leave the mask in for at least 2 hours (normally overnight) to get all the benefits from the mask before rinsing/washing it out.

    YOU 're right Henna defenitely gives your hair sth nth else does.I also do have a regular Henna routine but its a bit different. I use about 2cups of henna (i have a long hair ) and then i add many ground herbs( i add wallnut so I get a dark color, u can add a field poppy to have ared one ) .I mix then I poor hot water on the mixture .in that water whike it was boiling i put tea , olive leaves to make my hair dark ,I put all the herbs i already put with henna .i add some oil , any one u have ,olive or coconut is good.u can add yogurt, and egg .
    DONT make it thik ,the mixture should be light ...
    Leave for 8ours or more..not less.
    Ps:even though you grind the herbs, they may drive u crazy when you wash .so u can put Henna without herbs nd put them only in the water .
    Ps .when u wash your hair,first with water , then add shampoo even when henna is still there ,shampoo will help u wash henna way,..henna can b frustrating when u wash it .
    Hope u find this useful .

      What kinda henna do you use? Most foreigners recommend brands I can never find and figured you might have an idea on what's best in the market now.
      Also how long do you leave it on hair so it doesn't stain it too much? Do you wash your hair with the mixture or like use it as a mask? My hair is dark brown already and I'm afraid it might just go red.

      Hey Muna! Starting out with a treatment once a month is a great starting place- and then later adjust the frequency to what works best for you! (for me the sweet spot is every 3 weeks, but it varies for everyone!)

    Question : if you have white/ grey hairs (like premature greying is hair) will henna turn those hair orange?
    Loved the tutorial!

    • @VyalaBloom
      @VyalaBloom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they will! I have a few grey hairs and over many applications they have turned bright red. Personally I’m a huge fan of this but if you’re concerned you may be interested in using Indigo after a henna application to make those hairs black, or cassia so your hair color does not change. Hope this helps! ♥️

    Your hair looks amazing,sometimes i do henna treatments but don’t know how long you have to wait to apply it again,like is it something one can do weekly?

    • @VyalaBloom
      @VyalaBloom  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you!! And it varies for a lot of people... For me, my sweet spot is every 3 weeks, though I do know some people wait 2-6 months between treatments.
      I think a good starting place is to do a treatment once a month and go from there. However, I don't think it's necessary to do a full treatment more than twice a month since the henna is still so new and probably hasn't faded/broken down at all.

    So after your rinse out the henna, does your hair color change? Will the apple cider vinegar make the henna to release the dye completely? I actually want to use henna on my hair but I don’t want my hair color change

    • @VyalaBloom
      @VyalaBloom  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes henna will definitely change the color of your hair with or without ACV! If you’re worried about color change you may want to look into Cassia (also known as neutral henna). This has the same strengthening effects of henna but it will not change the color of your hair!

      If you check out my latest video, you’ll see what henna looks on my hair like in certain lights in the first few seconds. It can be very red (my hair color is naturally very dark brown). You can pair henna with indigo to create a brown or black color so you don’t have the red hues. I have a video about how to use henna and indigo. You can also check out Henna Sooqs website for more detailed information on that as well.
      Good luck ♥️

      After your treatment you can follow up with an olive oil or avocado oil treatment. you may even want to do it twice that week. Once immediately after your treatment, and the next a few days later if needed.

    I used to do henna on my hair few years back..and the result was amazing..as I have fine hair texture, using henne once a week, made my hair so much better..but one day I went for a hair spa and my hair stylist told me not to put henne as it damages the hair in long run more than it does good(his words not mine)..so after that I stopped using henna..but whenever I see videos about how people are loving using henna on their hair..I feel so tempted to start doing henne on my hair again. So If anyone could please help me out what should I do...and clear my confusion, to use henna or not..and is there any harm in long run..it will be really helpful..Thanks in advance..

    I’m interested in any future videos on natural hair care. I love to use henna and indigo for my grays I use it straight on my roots then I’ll mix up the rest with other ingredients for my lengths. So I don’t overdo the dye deposits and dry out my hair.

      What other ingredients do you mix the henna with for the rest of your hair?

    • @TracyD2
      @TracyD2 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Natalie Duval Either a conditioner, coconut cream and oils. Conditioner with oils works best for me. I use very little oil compared to conditioner. It’s basically a henna gloss. Their are recipes abound on youtube. My favorite recipe for henna/indigo has a little( tablespoon) *Aloe*powder (for slip, moisture and a little(tablespoon ) *Amla* (hair growth/ stops from relaxing curls). I add the indigo last after your particular hennas dye release. Usually 3 hrs later. This is for dying hair. Then I’ll mix the remainder with conditioner and such for the lengths. I think I’m repeating myself now_✌🏽

    Yes, one of the things I'm definitely afraid of is my curl pattern loosen up. After I apply henna my hair is super curly due to the protein treatment, but after two or 3 washes it just stops curling all together! I don't know why this happen, to the point where I stopped using henna because I don't want to lose my curls

    • @VyalaBloom
      @VyalaBloom  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Rae!
      Yeah, the loosening is the curl pattern can definitely be annoying... there are quite a few things that have helped me restore my curls... I found that aloe Vera (especially bottled Aloe Vera juice) makes my curls pop almost immediacy. And other acidic ingredients (including hibiscus, amla, and apple cider vinegar) have also helped me restore my curl pattern.
      You can use any of these ingredients as a hair rinse (right after washing your hair), or look for them in the ingredient list of your hair products. Soon enough you should see your curl pattern come back. You may also be interested in my video titled “refreshing curl spray” which has also helped me restore my curls.
      If you ever try henna again hopefully this can help you out!
