My 8 yr old and I enjoy watching Diecast repairs and restorations. This morning she asked if we could repair a hot wheel or matchbox, and have our own shop with TH-cam channel :)
That Lotus is beautiful and I am sure she would flip over it. Thank you for the chance to win, and for sharing your talent with us.

Seriously going down memory lane with this, as a little kid my next door neighbour had a black one of these permanently parked in his garage and I'd forgotten how cool it was even semi dismantled. Thank you for the great job and the memories

This is a very special car to me - it was the last present I recall my Dad giving me as a kid. No deaths just departed - but as a Dad now I realise what it means to be there for one's kids.

Love your videos. I had dozens of Corgi Cars growing up - Batmobile, Man From Uncle, olds Toronado, Buick Riveria, etc. - and they were all stolen by a mover when my parents bought a new house in 1975. Wining this restored car would kick off collecting again 45 years later!

Ironically many say that LOTUS is an acronym for Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious.... certainly was in the case of the respray! Quality work as always Rob. Hats off and fingers crossed for the win!?!?! The black and gold JPS version still beckons me but if I win this is going under lock and key 🔐 😉👍

Reminds me of my first car (1991)..... NO! it wasn't a Lotus! However, whilst working on my first car (an Austin miniMetro) at my Dad's lock up garage with a mate, we discovered that the garage next door was unlocked & in it was a Lotus Elite with the keys in the ignition!!!! After much debate, (after sitting in it) we decided it was best left well alone! I'd love this as a reminder of that!

WOW!! Another incredible job from Matchbox Garage!! Rob, congrats on 30k subs, that's quite an accomplishment in today's TH-cam. The paint colour was a perfect choice for this model. As I am gathering up the supplies and tools to try these "Resto+"s, I would love to have it as an inspiration piece. Your vids are top notch, and the voice overs are always great. I must agree with the other comments, the color of the car was unique, but being a purist in some ways, I would have liked to see the stickers or painted on the bumpers. But it did come out clean and green. Thanks for sharing this video and keep them coming in

I have the red version of this and liked the tow bar design as unlike other brands, it seemed to stand up better to being played with so whilst not true to life, it did many miles pulling my corgi caravan and being a Lotus it didn't hold the traffic up.

Brilliant job Rob, the final colour really suits the car! I might have said it before but you're not the only restorer who has had dramas mixing Tamiya solid and metallic colours together, no idea why that is but the results were pretty much the same. Maybe a better idea would be to used a silver base coat with a tinted clear colour over it, worth trying it at some point anyway.

Rob, for starters a big congratulations on 30k subs! I remember when you only had 50 or so subs; It's been a journey. Love to see that you did a larger scale diecast. Well, after watching the thing, I feel like I would personally prefer the details to be painted in, but no details is definitely better than the stickers. That being said, the rest of it is awesome. The paint is one of those colours which you don't see these days, so well selected. Nice glossy finish too. Nothing to say about the details, you're a master at those. So, in summary, no different from always - brilliant and unique work. You're in a league of your own with this resto+ thing.
