Dave provides context of the scriptures from historical happenings. This is so helpful in understanding the Word when we read it. Thanks so much, Dave and team!

As we all know, the book of Romans was written to the CHURCH... First you must get in the Church.... Acts chapter 2, is the beginning of the Church on the day of Pentecost.... The question asked , is a question we all must ask once we believe in the good news of the gospel.... Peter preached the gospel, and the people asked.... What must we do to saved? And then Peter said to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost......

The Roman Road to Salvation in Christ Jesus:
3:23 - "For all have sinned, and have fallen short of the glory of God." (Since we have broken God's law of love, the 10 Commandments, we are considered heinous, violent criminals, and, when judged by Him, we will be condemned to an eternal death penalty...)
5:8 - "But God demonstrates His love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (...but before we are condemned to die and, therefore, be forever separated from the Source of Everything Good, the Judge is informed that a benevolent stranger has been condemned in our place...)
6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (nobody earns, or works for a gift; it is, by definition, free. God is not impressed by your good works, and He cannot be bribed, because He is a good judge. Remember, God doesn't need your good works, but your neighbor does, so do them solely for their benefit.)
10:9 - "That if you confess with you mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, and believe in you heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Your salvation in Christ Jesus HAS ALREADY been accomplished for you. If you have to jump out of an airplane, just believing that a parachute will save you won't help you, but putting it on, and keeping it on, will. That parachute is Christ Jesus, the Lord. Don't ever let anyone talk you out of keeping it on, or make fun of you because you're wearing one, or thinking that you don't need one. And remember that they are not designed necessarily for your comfort, either.)
    God's peace be with you.
