Been fortunate to have ridden Downieville twice...such an amazing place.
First time was pre-V brakes, second time was with V brakes.
Would love to do Downieville again with our more modern sleds.

Who are the engineers that actually design the shocks and how much input do the techs like Jordi have in the design of new equipment.

Built it and still ride it. Way too big for downieville though. Solid option for a big bike.

The Izzo with remote lockout seems like a good choice for this type of racing.
I took a trail bike to downieville a couple of months ago and it sure helped in the fast and slacker decents but my head tube angle is pretty steep which really held me back when charging through steep rock gardens. Definitely an izzo would be great for riders that like the modern trail bike feel and like to pick and choose there lines while boosting and popping the bike around but personally i woukdve enjoyed it more on a 140-130 mm all mountain

Hello, I'm from Russia, I want to make my own bike for cross country, but I don't have enough budget, I'm a schoolboy, I only live with my mother, my father died last winter from a stroke.
Previously, there was at least some hope to save up for a good bike, but now there is no hope

Has Downieville opened up their non local closure?
Everything is open, masks required everywhere you’re within 6’ of anyone even a company running shuttles which I’m not so sure about
I think Yuba has decided not to run shuttles this year at all. Dville outfitters is running limited operations. Tons of people are self shuttling too.

Fox, tell please: how would you help some rider dial his suspension if he, by himself, doesn't know (/can't express,..) what is bad, what should be changed, etc ?
Simply saying, rider is riding Fox X2 with some stock (typical, middle,..) settings and he'd like to find out if his shock may become better.
look up fox's video on bracketing. It may help point you in the right direction.

@@ka81alex maybe you haven't? It's solid advice. I think you may need to talk to someone in detail about the trails you ride, your bike, and what you're looking for in performance. I think the biggest help you can get is from talking to a local mechanic that you can really elaborate with.
