Rossi on the RCV211V was practically unbeatable. He switched to Yamaha and beat a field full of RCV211Vs on an inferior bike and won more titles - multiple back to back titles on a different make of bike, he is the only person to achieve this in the history of the sport.

Rossi made a decision that no one would have made: to switch from Honda to Yamaha, but in this way he proved to be a real talent by winning even with an inferior bike against the Honda that was and remains the best motorcycle manufacturer. If he had stayed at Honda he would have won even more, but by going away and winning again he became a legend.
You are incorrect about Rossi being the first rider to win back to back championships on different bikes. Eddie Lawson is the first rider to win back to back titles on different manufacturers. He won the 500cc World Championship in 1988 with Yamaha, then he won it again in 1989 on a Honda. Rossi is the first ever rider to win consecutive races with different manufacturers: Won last race of the 2003 season in Valencia with Honda, then he won the first race of the 2004 season in Welkom on a Yamaha.

They did have electronics on those 2002 bikes. They were not as advanced as the 2020s unified electronics but they did have them. Also from 2002 onward the electronics started to be developed exponentially year by year. so 2002 was peanuts compared to 2003 and so on...

Really? Because Barros had the RCV the next season and Rossi still beat him by more than 130 points. Barros didn't even win a single race. He finished the season below Gibernau and Biaggi on the RCV as well.

The 2 strokes had 500cc after that they went to 4 strokes 800cc to 1000cc as they are now.
