I have a suggestion in this video, because I saw a mistake when inserting a new log sensor, it might be damaged the tip. When inserting the log sensor, do not directly push down, just insert a little bit until you reach the chain to connect, chain is for a safety stopper. then Fully OPEN the ball valve, and that's the time you push harder. hope this can help.

Yes u can.but sensor calibration not possible while underway. If possible try to clean in port or anchor for safe side
