Was sollen solche Vergleiche? Ich habe zu tiefster Coronazeit eine Vivaldikomposition von Simone Kermes gesungen gehört. Seitdem gehört sie zu meinen Lieblingskünstlerinnen. Sie hat mir Licht in die damals verordnete Abgeschlossenheit gebracht. Danach begeisterten mich weitere Interpreten: Regula Mühlemann, Patricia Janečkova ( die viel zu früh verstarb).... Auch an Patricia hatten Besserkönner herum zu mäkeln als sie nur noch wenig Lebenszeit hatte.Alle lieben Mozart, zu recht. Wer aber kennt das Te Deum von Naumann? Wir sollten uns dankbar vor allen diesen Künstlern verneigen, die unsere oft nicht prickelnde schöne Gegenwart vergolden.

Aria stupenda. La Kermes non è la Bartoli, ma ci regala comunque una bella interpretazione accompagnata da uno splendido complesso.

I agree, and I would add the quality of the orchestra, often minimized when comparing singers' performances. I love the tempo in this video. not too slow, not too fast. Perfetto.

I think the Italian Baroque composers make the other Europeans look cold and inexpressive.
I guess you include Bach and Handel as part of the inexpressive Europeans. Why would you need to compare levels of "expressiveness"?
Italian composers, although not being maybe the greatest composers per-se, have always transmitted emotion in a way other could not. Just think of Verdi, Puccini, Bellini operas. Although maybe not as "perfect" as other operas, the emotion they can deliver is unparalleled.

Cet air est écrit pour un baryton, la voix d'un père qui pleure son fils. Furio Zanassi l'a chanté magnifiquement. N'y a-t-il pas assez d'airs pour les sopranos et les mezzo sans aller piller les hommes? En tout cas, pour ce qui est des robes moches, Simone et Cecilia font jeu égal.
