However candlestick point is supposed to have its own development in the works. So that’s out of the question. There was some back room dealings with Levi’s Stadium and that allowed for Santa Clara to be the location of the new 49ers stadium. I believe that stadium should’ve never been built there. At this point, the MLS is already well established, that each team wants their own stadium. Some teams share stadiums, like Seattle, Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago. However they’re the city’s NFL stadiums, so it’s rather easy to convert them to soccer. So I doubt that an MLS team would want to share a non-soccer/NFL stadium. Yeah, Kezar is too small for soccer. As Brodie was saying, Pier 30 was the original plan for Chase Center. I think it would’ve been a really nice place for the arena, however there’s a lot of environmental factors involved. I think much of what was said here also applies to the SJ Earthquakes as well as I don't see them relocating (like what happened to the first MLS version of the Quakes) or moving to another part of the Bay Area. In fact PayPal Park is likely going to get another tenant in the form of the new NWSL team that was recently announced for the Bay Area. If SF or Oakland really wants MLS, they will need to apply for an expansion team or hope that the Oakland Roots (in the case of Oakland) wants to join MLS.
The Sharks should have made a financial deal with the Warriors to configure the Chase Center to fit both basketball and hockey before the arena went into construction. I believe that, by the end of this decade, the ownership will want a new facility and if they aren’t able to do so, will plan to move out of the Bay Area.

Gund had been a minority owner of the Seals and part of the move to Cleveland and part of the team when they merged with Minnesota. He wanted to bring hockey back to the Bay Area. Gund looked into building an arena in San Francisco but ultimately chose San Jose. I was an original season ticket holder at the Cow Palace and San Jose and I followed the process very closely.
San Francisco is in the same metro area with San Jose. The cowboys play in Arlington Texas. New York Giants play East Rutherford New Jersey and The Washington Commanders play in FedEx field in Maryland.

Gund looked into building an arena in San Francisco but ultimately chose San Jose. I was an original season ticket holder at the Cow Palace and San Jose and I followed the process very closely.

San Francisco is in the same metro area with San Jose. The cowboys play in Arlington Texas. New York Giants play East Rutherford New Jersey and The Washington Commanders play in FedEx field in Maryland.
