Thanks for the review. Nicely articulated, especially when describing the feel of the button, and on how to charge the battery! I won't lie, I was scratching my head at first. Not a step I typically have to RTFM for (also, first time seeing a usb port built into the battery casing too). That said, I don't mind having to take the battery out to recharge. The design improves waterproofness. My old Nitecore (marketed as waterproof) died after water got into the usb port. The rubber cover the plugs the usb port was pulled off accidentally and I didn't notice. As for the button on the PD36TAC, I like the design too. Less chance of accidentally turning it on. Something that's happened to me many times with the side button on my old Nitecore. Anyway, I'll be taking the PD36TAC with me on my deer hunting trip this Nov (Ontario, Canada). I'll let you know how it goes.
Tactical Mode is only 2000 lumens. The Turbo setting is only available in the Duty mode, which offers 30/150/350/1000/3000 lumen settings (no 2000 lumen setting in Duty Mode other than Strobe).
Great REview Thank you .. I just bought one.. I have had an LD30 for years and its be FAR the best flashlight ive ever owned.. hoping this one surpasses that
I ordered one of these just because of the mechanical locking mechanism. My previous fenix light that I am now replacing because it's finally kicked the bucket and only turns on when it feels like it, has that stupid side button so many of their flashlights have. The double click locking mechanism is way too easy to unlock accidentally just from going about your day with things knocking and pressing into where your light is. Even after I rotated the clip and taped it in place to stop it from rotating, so that the button was facing inward, I would still sometimes find out that it was on, and I had no idea how long it had been on. It doesn't instill much confidence in the large battery life if it can do that, I was always checking the battery level indicator light to see what the level was at because I was paranoid that I would need it for something, and it had drained itself by turning itself on in my pocket. In my opinion, any EDC flashlight needs to have a significantly more secure locking mechanism than that, it's not be something that frequently unlocks itself and turns itself on.
I really enjoy your videos, great presentation, very thorough, detailed and well explained. My one critique is I haven't seen any mention of candela data. As I am comparing this between Nitecore p10xi the fenix seems to be the clear winner in that department
Отличное видео! Скажите, а у жтого фрнаря есть функция полунажатия, то есть если нажать на кнопку до половины и держать ( в выкоюченном состоянии) он будет работать, а если убрать палец перестанет. Есть такая функция?
Hello, i received mine yesterday. I charged mine fully it will go theu all functions but will NOT go to strobe mode no matter what mode I use, I've tried everything. any ideas? ty for your help!
About every 2-3 months is what I recommend, and only charge to full if you need to use it, charging to 100% and then leaving it is bad for the battery's long-term heath!
I ordered a spare battery like the one in the video and when fully charged it indicates a blue light at the top of the battery but the one that came with my flashlight indicates green when fully charged. Why two different fully charged colours for the exact same batteries ?
So in Tactical mode, you can't even access Turbo. There is no direct to Turbo access. None! Oh and the lock-out feature is right in the middle. So if you're in Tactical mode and you grab your light a bit too quickly, accidentally causing that practically-no- resistance tailcap switch to rotate, your light won't turn on. Brilliant! I would love to meet the "genius" who decided those were great ideas. 🤬
Not at all, you have to turn it intentionally, its rather hard and it has a convenient lock that you haven't in your PD36R which is also a less powerful model. Working in security as me a 2000 lumens mode and a fast dual velocity strobe with just a pulse is very convenient.
Great review and showing us the different brightnesses in the yard! You have a great voice for radio or announcing.
😀 Thank you!

Good work, thanks. I especially like the bit about charging the battery that's not in the instructions.

I will start including it! 😁
Strobe 3000 lumen ? Thanks

Great vid, no bullshit!
Tk16v2 and pd36tac which is better ?
How often should I charge it if I don't use it often? Maybe once a month?

I’m either going to get this or the olight warrior 3
Great video very detailed I appreciated that.
Thanks for watching!
Good work. Just pre-orderd mine.

Not a 100% certain, all of the ones I have are blue. Fenix might have changed the LED.
Can it use regular 21700 button top batteries? Great review!
Yes it accepts Fenix 21700 button top batteries - but you will need to take them out and charge them in a charger.
Do a vs with the p10i and pd36r
Underrated channel
Love mine with the pd36r pro end cap😂😢
You can swap the tail caps?
@jessem623 yes and makes it shorter.
@@raymondborkowski4290 do you know where you can get the tail cap
@@jessem623 from tk20r or pd36r
Awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it
Is this this better than the tk16 20
I prefer the TK16 v2. But this is slimmer overall which is nice.
What about the olight warrior are they any good
Love to own one. Let it come to India, I will tap it's delear or importer Lightmen .

Holster's too tight. I might remove the holster's bottom & strap, & use the flashlight holstered. Switches & clip are accessible holstered.
C charging big plus for me as android user
Did I miss it, does it have memory?
Yes it does have mode memory in duty mode - forgot to mention it.

You would send a glass eye to sleep 😴
😂😂😂 If I add anymore character people get very upset.
Mode switch looks easy to bump accidentally. Deal breaker for me. Anyway, I'm happy with my PD36R.
