I'm a convert and was taught as a protestant that I could take my sins to God, and He would forgive them; when I had my first confession, it was overwhelming, and I knew the sins were forgiven, even the ones I confessed as a protestant. Hearing the words of absolution and knowing that Christ is actually saying those words is awe-inspiring.
The Sacraments have a material dimension to help US. Protestants don't seem to recognize the material dimension wedded to the spiritual. Also we need to be reconciled with the Church as well as Christ. Our sin damages the Body Of Christ and we need to ask for forgiveness from the people of God, that is, the Church.
I needed to hear this. Every time I go to Confession, it's with an overwhelming sense of dread, because I know I'm so far fallen, but, once in the confessional, it's just so easy to confess my sins and reconcile to God, and be renewed. That's what it feels like, when I leave the confessional. I've a renewed relationship with God, and the weight of sin has been lifted from my shoulders, by God's grace.
Coming back home, taking too long, with depression and other stuff, but Mother is holding my hand, leading me straight to Her Son... praise God for this message!
Don’t wait too long! One of the temptations of the Devil is to convince you to put it off, especially after you’ve decided to do it! God bless you and I’m praying for you!
When St. Thérèse was on her deathbed, the sisters said to her, “It’s no wonder that you’re so confident of Heaven, we don’t think you’ve ever committed a mortal sin in your life.” And she said, “It’s not because of my lack of mortal sin that I go to God with confidence. Even if I had committed all of the sins imaginable I would still be this confident because I know that all of my sins compared to his mercy would be like a drop of water flicked into a raging furnace.” Thérèse is not saying that God doesn’t care if we commit mortal sins. She is saying that God’s mercy which we receive when we confess our sins to him is so powerful that we should let it envelop our fears, concerns, and neuroses about being forgiven and replace it with his peace.
George- It is actually James, not Paul, who say to confess your sins to one another, ghat you may be healed. James 5:16. An in here it is confession of believers to each other, not an special or specific person, although he previously refers to the elders praying for the sick. Certainly true that most protestants do not do this any more, although numerous reports of revival show it happening. So it should happen, and should be taught, just like sick people should come to the leaders for the laying on of hands for healing.
I heard on Keith Nester’s channel that over half the Catholic converts have left the church within 5 years of entering the church. Also, I really wanted to hear George’s thoughts completed, but felt like he was constantly being interrupted and the thought highjacked before he can finish the story or his point. Thanks for interviewing him though

I so love this husband of Candace a cool and upright guy by the grace of God.🙏
Why cant he convince her to be a more active Christian and better yet, convert to Catholicism?
Thanks for the clips. I've had a tab open with the full interview ever since it aired but taking a while to get to it!

I like how you cut after St Therese’s quote and, “just breathe”

Imagine how much Candace would have to unload if she EVER went to Confession?

Why do Christians love to talk about FORNIFICATIIN? I find it shocking.
