    So, it was YOU who took all the safflower oil! LOL Actually at our house, I no longer use seed oils other than olive oil. I use that, coconut oil (which is great for popping popcorn btw), lard, tallow, and butter. We still buy some items that use seed oil, but I'm moving away from them as much as possible.
    I wanted to get some peaches, but they ran out by the time they were filling my order :0( I got cantaloupes instead and am canning some, freezing some, and dehydrating some. On today's docket, i olan to use the last of the fresh blueberries that definitely need to he used up and mix it with some cantaloupe for fruit leather. Yesterday, i used some applesauce in jars that didn't seal (insert mad face here), but i wouldn't have done it otherwise, so it was a blessing. Applesauce whirled in the blender to get it smooth and about a tablespoon of cinnamon. Poured into fruit leather trays and dehydrated. Yummo. I shared a jar of applesauce and some of the leather with our kind neighbor who allowed us to pick all the apples off his trees. With the wet summer we've had, apples are smaller this year, and some trees dropped fruit early.
    Ive had more lid fails this year canning than I've ever had. Also had four jars break in the canner (another mad face). I contacted the jar company to let them know.
    I might have to give the superb lids a try.
    Oh, and our wally world will NOT give it sell the food grade buckets from the bakery any longer. Ive asked at other places, and so far have come up empty-handed.

      @@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska I can’t afford to spend a lot of money on things but do my best to get the best quality I can at the lowest price. I am often buying seconds on produce and canning it for so much cheaper. So far in the last month I have canned 2 bushels of peaches and 2 bushel of apples. I am going to get another bushel of apples for apple sauce. Things like this make a huge difference. I also get sugar at Sams Club because it is the best price for cane sugar. If it doesn’t say cane sugar it is beet sugar and that is a big gmo crop

    Hello Crystal, I think you could be a representative for Azure. they should make you an Azure host and pay you in merchandise. You did a great job talking about Azure, problem for me is, I am by myself and it wouldn't pay me to buy in bulk like you do, I would probably end up owing them, lol. Thanks for sharing.

      John , that’s very kind of you to say. I wouldn’t mind getting a paycheck from them. Ha! When I want to buy some thing from azure and get the book discount, but I know there’s no way Mr. Reeve and I are going to be able to go through it, I find some friends that are willing to share or split a case with me, etc. it’s a great way for me to get the bulk discount price, but not have to figure out what to do with all of that food before it goes bad. If you really get interested about it and there’s some thing you might want a partial case of, contact me, and maybe we can find a couple people to split it with us. I usually do that when I’m purchasing cases of produce and citrus. Or you can just consider purchasing in bulk things that are shelf stable for a long, long time. 😊

      If you go to Azure website, click “shop” then in the drop down menu click “Bonus Azure Cash”. It will bring up all the items with bonus Azure cash. For each item, there’s a green circle that shows how many times azure cash you get. If you click on the item then scroll down through the description you’ll see a list of things like weigh, organic, etc. I think the first one in that list is how much azure cash you’ll earn. That’s for the mobile version anyways. Let me know if you need anymore help. 😊

      Thank you so much. I’m looking for to possibly getting one in the future and using azure. It’s actually worth it by the time you use gas just driving and searching for not so great items in the store. I’m mean I seriously don’t have the patience for that wonderful money hold that local Wally World like to put on our card either. Makes no sense. Azure seems more practical when living in Ak. Just my opinion and thoughts.

    • @FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska
      @FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AlaskaMyHeart it’s not always the most practical. Shipping costs a lot. But I compare Walmart, Amazon and azure standard before I purchase anything. In terms of getting organic non-GMO items, lots of those things just aren’t even available in Alaska so that leaves azure as a great option. Sometimes I can get, the organic non-GMO items on azure for cheaper than I can get the regular ol’ non-organic items locally. So that makes it even better deal. But it’s not always the best deal. I would say about 30 to 40% of the time it’s the best deal.

As well as bulk, coconut oil, palm, oil, and caster oil for soap making. Stays 35° in the winter and 55-60 in the summer. I’ve never had an issue with any oils going bad. Before we had the cold room finish, we just kept it on the shelves down there the the crawl space. Stayed anywhere from 45 to 55°. I have lard down there that’s been there for three years now.
