You guys were asking me about this, and I personally was also wondering about it too lol - So, we DID the science, and here's what happened!!! If you'd like to try the QuickMagic MoCap for yourself, you can see how to use it on my tutorial video here: th-cam.com/video/x21Ax0-EL70/w-d-xo.html All reference video links can be found in the description!
Great comparison! Cleared up my previous questions. While some of issues in cascadeur mocap can be fixed by Cleaning up the fulcrum points and autophysics. But Quick magic seems to do a pretty similar job out of the box.
@@artistify_3d429 Yeah, that's really the main thing about QuickMagic, while it's not perfect, it gets you 70% of the way in less than 1% of the time most other software gets out raw out-of-the-box. Simple, fast, easy, affordable, and good enough -
You just sold me on quickmagic! I remember asking how it compared to cascadeurs video to mocap :) i think using quickmagic then importing to cascadeur to clean and apply all the fancy ai enhancements for an even more fluid animation is the way to go
Nice, looks like quick magic is the way to go. There's similar advances like echomimic for lip syncing AI as well. Would be cool to compare it with the 52 face shape keys for mapping audio.
I mean, you get free tokens each month to generate animations with full body, hand, and facial MoCap. If you're a hobby 3D artist that's that's more than enough to get you very far - The only paid part is if you are using it for commercial purpose, at which case 9$ is way more affordable than a $2000 suit -
QuickMagic seems to nail it, sure there's a bit of clean up, but even the most advance captures used in Hollywood need more cleanup than what I'm seeing here. That's not to say that there won't be cases where it just fails terribly, but I'm very impressed.
Pretty sure that with Rokoko you need a specific setup with multiple camera angles. I don't think it was designed to drop videos from the internet. Either way QuickMagic seems so much better than the rest at picking up details.
Because AI has come a long way in a short time since Rokoko and Cascadeur released their models, and they haven't updated, while Quickmagic is more recent and based on stronger, more advanced models.
That's exactly why. Technology grows rapidly in early stages and softwares are seldom updated after full release, but sequels and new iterations refine and upgrade, and thus we get the new technology with new software.
Yeah, when I tried rokoko a few months back, I was like: this is really the best these tools with AI can offer? Where is my actually working tool? And I guess here it is.
How about recording fight anims in slomo? The problem is, that a punch or kick for example is really fast, can be less than a second. Let's say you record fight anims in high fps (60 or more), then you mocap it like a regular 30 fps clip, so you get more detailed keyframes. Then on playback you just speed it back up. Can someone try this? I think this should solve the problem.
So, I've tried this, and if the AI is trained on live footage, it actually doesn't get better if you slow-mo the video - In QuickMagic's case, it's assuming real physics applies to the video, so if you record a jump in slow mo, gravity will affect the animation faster than it does in the video -
@TheRoyalSkies hmmm... that gravity thing sounds weird to me. What I often nothice with fight anim video mocaps is that the end of the strike or kick is missing (the most important frame), which I believe is because the movement was too fast to register. That's why I tought a high FPS recording should do the trick. I'm really interested in fight anims so what would be your recommendation for this use case?
I'll be honest with you, you've made me suspicious of you with the way you promoted this with 4 back to back videos now. Cascadeur is far less pricy in comparison to this website. And cascadeur does a way better job than what you showed with proper footage, with a proper background. I'm not saying the site is bad. But sites like these are very fishy. And the pricing is rather ridiculous. 100 bucks a year for cascadeur would be way better for a indie dev, instead of the restrictions you're getting on this site WHILE paying more.
I'm not buying into cascadeur bro, they started free and then literally prevented us from being able to export in fbx, like what da hell, if they started paid or gave a 30 day trial fair enough, but after that stunt de pulled, I ain't going back men
Cascadeur doesn't look as good as you pretend it is. Even their _advertising videos_ show obvious flaws. Besides... it's not really free either from what I can tell.
@@Dante02d12 Cascadeur is not really meant to be only automated, at least not yet. It's a tool, like Maya. If the artist or material is trash, you'll get trash.
I completely agree. Royal tries way too hard in their videos to convince us that "QuickMagic is the best option and everything else is trash." I don’t have fond memories of Rokoko either. Cascadeur’s mocap is more of a nice bonus because the software offers so much more on entirely different levels. Plus, with an annual subscription, you get a perpetual license, and considering how much they add periodically, I wouldn’t be surprised if they improve the mocap as well. And QuickMagic? Personally, I tested it with two videos-one I found myself and one linked in their description. Both were dance videos, each about 30 seconds long. The first one took around 30 minutes to process, the second about 20 minutes. It burned through all my free tokens. The result? Pretty mediocre. The most telling test seems to be the dance from their own promo video, so I’ll say this: the output wasn’t as good as shown in the ad. The whole thing looked much stiffer. The wrists barely moved, and the fingers remained completely straight the entire time. The pricing is also laughable. I have to pay $10 for a monthly subscription, which gives me 150 tokens. On the free account, I got 50 tokens and used them on two 30-second videos that still require significant cleanup. To use it regularly, I’d need to buy more tokens, and 1,000 tokens cost $40. Sure, 10,000 tokens are $130, but for $90, I can buy an annual indie license for Cascadeur, complete with auto-posing tools and physics correction. QuickMagic might become a valuable tool eventually, but it’s definitely not worth its current price.

I had seen some accupose videos a week ago. Its seems awesome. You have to check it definitely.
You just sold me on quickmagic! I remember asking how it compared to cascadeurs video to mocap :) i think using quickmagic then importing to cascadeur to clean and apply all the fancy ai enhancements for an even more fluid animation is the way to go
Well guess we use quickmagic and clean up in Cascadeur and ignore Rokoko.
Rokoko’s walk test be like, There’s gum on my shoe.
Thanks mate, very usable comparison!
Thanks for that. Now, I am interestnig in studying Quickmagic as well as Cascadeur! Keep it up!
Thank you for the video, sir. Very valuable.
lol, when he saw the result of the Rokoko it made me laugh hahah
Try Marionette XR and Animcraft too. Both are local processing with your own GPU.
Move One is the only video mocap system that’s competitive with quick magic, but quick magic still wins 2/3’s of the time
Rokoko? More like NoNoNo!
very good QuickMagic

Спасибо, QuickMagic достойный результат.
lol the way you pronounce Cascadeur is the most American thing ever 😂
what about wonderstudio
QuickMagic looks great, but can we stop calling it "Free"?

gotta emphasize that, for the rokoko, that's the free video version, right?
cause if that's with the suit... gaddam...

That's not how they market it.
multi camera is just another option this one was designed and marketed to work with dropping 1 angle videos, it just fails that's all
Nah rokoko vtm has always been bad. Sadly
How is quickmagic so much more better? Rokoko and Cascadeur have been around for a while!!
Sometime the first aren't always the best.
well he's obviously sponsored

Wow! Great comparisons! I held back due to having Cascadeur, but Quickmagic looks like a big tool for video mocaping!
In conclusion quickmagic is better

now I see I thought rrokoko was better than it is, thanks

Rokoko is utter garbage, including their suits too.
my dawg, what about deepmotion
Not as good, at least from my experience
cascadeur is best for animation. Quickmagic best for motion capture. what's rokoko for?
Deep motion is also good
Not like Quick Magic it isn’t

CAPITALISM, HO
What is everyone's go to solution to download videos/shorts from social media?
IDM duh
imo quickmagic wipes the competition and rokoko is just plain terrible lmao
Dman Quick Magic is amazing
rokoko sucks. and i bought 2 mocap suits from them
and ii see you reaw
so cool... 👍🥰🇩🇪
