I was informed the hours are strict because it's a preserve. (They are concerned it will harm the wildlife if we road at night). Can you tell me which department you called to get the exemption? BTW I run both kinds of bells. I turn the other off most of the time because it will drive you crazy

Interesting. I mean, South Mountain, Piestewa etc etc. are all preserves and you can ride there at night. Kind of a head scratcher. So, you call this department with city of Scottsdale and talk to Ruth Johnson. 480-312-4444 She’ll ask you some questions and send you an application. You fill that out and email it back with pics of your bike. You can send a pic of a disability placard or a doctor’s note, but they legally can’t actually ask you for any of that and have to trust you. I sent video of a news story about my transplant.

Oh, and I used to run the timber bell at all times. You drown it out, but it’s kind of nice without it. I got some of those cheapo Rock Brothers bells, (and have a few others lying around), now instead.

@@ButlerDoesIt76 awesome thank you for the info . I'm not sure why it's different from other locations. My best guess is maybe they have endangered species. I used to run a bear bell and I couldn't turn it off as easy. However I was thanked many times for having it. That alone was worth it. I just turn it on if I have a corner or peak coming and am concerned about blasting into someone.

@jaydub308 yeah. The always on bear bell would be rough and not many bears here. I like the sound of the timber bell. But yeah, I can sing this going into blind corners and stuff.
