@@RykerRydes Amen Beth. Your video on the Brake Light Helmet is an eye opener and much appreciated. Watched Parking Lock and Shift Install yesterday. A must and first thing to do after buying a Ryker, plus, lights, lights, lights. Your ideas and personal thoughts protect and improves things to make the Ryker safer and comfortable.. The two wheel MSF Course saved my life twice. My Victory Vision had great lighting on the fairing and I fixed the rear lighting issue due to advice of other riders that saw safety issues I couldn't see after we completed the Dragon. Similar to the Ryker issue of being low to the ground. I was higher but the main rear lighting had a large 3 section V Panel, independent of each other. The lower section was lighting when braking,...the other sections didn't. In quick sunlight/shade changes, riders couldn't see my braking clearly. It was a simple fix thanks to an Air Force Biker You Tube film and a few changes on the electrical coupling under the driver seat that made the entire V on the rear light up. Thanks for your outstanding work.
You could take the passenger seat to a seat trimmer with your back support and they’ll redo the passenger seat with a built in support. Beth, this video was of great interest to me as I would need to do the same if I replace my 2 wheel with a Ryker. That very last thing you did where you actually got the backrest to sit in a good position; perhaps you could use some strategically placed heavy duty (3M) Velcro so you know it wouldn't fall off on a ride. @@2wrdr My windshield is from can am, made specifically for the ryker. Pros: looks like it was made for the bike's sleek design. Also love that it can move up and down depending on your desire. Have a 2020 CanAm Ryker 900 went into limp mode,VSS fault and check engine. Third time it's happened. Was told at can am dealer that it could be the LED bulbs put in the headlights, seems weird to me. What do you think?? Thanks Henry J
That does seem strange. I replaced (along with so many others) the headlights and never had an issue. You could always try putting the old headlights back on and see if it still happens (pain in the butt, I know). I common reason new riders get a vss fault is from riding the break. Try making sure your foot is clear from the break while riding. Hope this helps. LMK
@@RykerRydes you made it a lot easier than it was. I had to loosen the max mount to get the support in. Also on the 2021 the seat trim side pieces has a screw that needs to be loosened before removal. Thanks again Beth. 😀

Wow. Thank you so much for your vids. After watching you (mistakes included) I'm gonna be working on mine myself in a couple of months when I get the $$$ together. THANK YOU!!!
Sorry for the late reply, I would only buy the OEM passenger seat. Unless you’re getting a custom seat that you can get a passenger seat integrated with the driver seat. Hopefully that makes sense. PS make sure it comes with the Can Am Ryker specific passenger pegs. Nothing else will work.
I am surprised Can-Am did not make the seat to be used with the back rest! You can use the backrest with the Top Case. Great Video Beth and thanks to Tina for the great camera work!
@@RykerRydes From what I understand it is not big enough for a helmet. That is one thing I wish the Ryker had because if I stop somewhere I would have to carry my helmet because I will not leave it on the bike. unless I could lock it in a case/trunk.
You can actually use both. The 1 up won’t lock but you can use two screws to hold it in place, obviously you can’t use the cubby plastic behind it but they’ll work just fine. That’s how I have mine.
How much luggage can you attach when the passenger seat is set up? Like if you want to go on an overnight trip, with a passenger, you might need to bring more luggage. Can two side-saddle luggage pieces still be attached?
Hi... The rear seat does not have any OEM or aftermarket lock....:( I have only seen one video on TH-cam that addresses this issue with two solutions. Have you found any lock solutions???
@@RykerRydes Hey... thanks for getting back to me. I’m awaiting a 2021 Riker rally which should have been in the middle of April however I’m still waiting for it to arrive at the dealership. I know I’m going to have a ton of fun cruising around on it as soon as possible. I wish New Jersey had better settings as far as the streets go but it is what it is for now. Must head to the mountains or the beach. Here’s the link to the only video I found on TH-cam on how to lock down your seat. The guy who did it actually offers two different ways to do it. th-cam.com/video/sz1f-ejZhBA/w-d-xo.html
Thanks Beth, I had the comfort seats and tall backrest installed at time of purchase but it would be nice to have a rider backrest also. I’m pretty sure when the passenger pegs are lowered the system automatically adjusts the suspension but perhaps this is just on my rally version? Next up for me is an atlas throttle lock. The heated grips I fitted are a god send in this weather here in the north of the UK!
Hi Lee, When the pegs are down, it is my understanding that it turns of the VSS so you can't skid out or put your bike in Rally mode. I am 99% positive it will not change your suspension. The Rally has a easy knob on it to do manually. But please check with your dealership of ask on the forums to make sure. Spring is coming!! Ride safe! ps be very careful with the throttle lock (can be very dangerous)
I just got my 2021 ryker 900 ,and I ordered my max mount for 255 and my passengers seat for 243 direct from can am.com I save more than 100 dollars and everything fits correctly and if you have a question just call for support they let you know if fits your ryker, thanks for another video ❤❤👍😉
Hello Beth my name is Israel and I am from Mexico, I just bought a ryker 900 rally edition, and I did not buy the original passenger seat I bought the seat in slimgmods. And it does not include the esyribo or pospirs of the passenger, would you be so kind to throw up the measurements and specifications of the same length, etc or if the piece that you put in your transverse video is to support the stirrup? Some independent ones but nobody sells them like that, that's why I want to know their specifications, measurements and installation since I expect that some blacksmith or specialist to do them for me, I send you a great greeting and many successes with your videos many greetings from Veracruz, Mexico
Hi Israel and thank you for the nice comment. As far as the passenger pegs, I can't in good conscious, help you with the pegs. The Can-Am pegs have a unique sensor in the left one that, when down, lets the bike know there is a passenger and adjusts the bike appropriately. My advice, go to your dealership and get them to order you the passenger pegs! Hope this helps!
No, sadly it does not. The max mount has that one hole to add attachments. It can either be the 1 up backrest OR the passenger seat OR the storage system. You have to choose.
I have a 2021 Ryker Rally. I ordered the passenger seat with the large backrest but I can’t get the seat to come all the way back to lock it in. Can you help?
Thanks, I'm like you, can't reach the back rest, so I could slip that in, I have the luggage rack on and can't lean back on it because I can't reach the handle bars, I'm too short. Love my ryker rally, so I put a pillow between me and the back rest, it has a small strap on it and I use a bungee cord to hold it in place, ryker needs to invent something for the short girls that gives us back rest
I was thinking that when you have the backseat the passenger can be your backrest and when there's no passenger then you can use the back rest, just a thought :D

I have the ultimate seat ordered and was looking for the passenger pegs for my wife but I am not sure her legs are long enough to reach the passenger foot pegs? My wife 4'10". The ultimate seat sits higher also. Have you seen short people on the back of the Ryker have issues reaching to passenger foot pegs?
Great question. I am not sure, as I don’t have an ultimate seat. But I do know that Slingmods now sells passenger foot pegs. And I think they are adjustable.
I ordered mine and added a short backrest for the passenger. Will you do a video of how a passenger rides? Feel on different speeds, where to hold on? I.e., I also bought from Amazon a driver waist worn handle strap. I’m thinking for highway speeds? Good job to you and Tina! 👍🏽
Hi there! I unfortunately no longer have a passenger seat. No one wanted to ride with me! lol I do like the idea of handle strap idea. Please let me know how that works for you.
Was wondering about this very thing, if the backrest worked with the passenger seat, until I got my Ryker Rally and it had a passenger seat setup already on it. There's nowhere for the backrest to go once that passenger seat is on. Not sure I'll ever have any passengers but it looks cool. Great video.
That was a very helpful video. I think if I were a passenger I would want the larger back rest on the passenger seat. It would give me more security from fear of falling off backwards.

@@2wrdr My windshield is from can am, made specifically for the ryker. Pros: looks like it was made for the bike's sleek design. Also love that it can move up and down depending on your desire. Con, wish it was a little bigger. Check out my other video specifically on the windshield install and review that is posted.
@@RykerRydes Ok, thanks
I love you! Just purchased one & am learning so much from you!!!
Awesome! Thank you! I love you too!! Congratulations on your Ryker!!
LMK
And to go with my max mount I got a set. Thank You Beth. 👍
My pleasure. Thanks for watching Rob!
@@RykerRydes you made it a lot easier than it was. I had to loosen the max mount to get the support in. Also on the 2021 the seat trim side pieces has a screw that needs to be loosened before removal.
Thanks again Beth. 😀
at the end of the video when you slide the back rest in you should of tried to press the locking button down to see if it would of locked together i was just thinking thank you for the video
It's hard to explain, but that was not an option!
I thought the same thing. Pushing the top button to lock it all. Wonder if it works 🤔
Wow. Thank you so much for your vids. After watching you (mistakes included) I'm gonna be working on mine myself in a couple of months when I get the $$$ together. THANK YOU!!!
Glad I could help! I appreciate you watching!
Hello as always you make great videos witch help me out with my Ryker 900 sport ace , iam looking to buy a passenger seat from Amazon any suggestions
The Luggage Top case will give you back support. Tried it this weekend at the local CanAm dealer...
Great to hear!!
Beth , where can I find the light summer jacket you wore in the "Two Up" video?
Check out my video on Bohn Armor jackets. There is a coupon code in the video. I hope it still works.
I am surprised Can-Am did not make the seat to be used with the back rest! You can use the backrest with the Top Case. Great Video Beth and thanks to Tina for the great camera work!
Yes, Ii agree!! Good to know about the top case. I need some storage! Does a helmet fit in the top case?
@@RykerRydes From what I understand it is not big enough for a helmet. That is one thing I wish the Ryker had because if I stop somewhere I would have to carry my helmet because I will not leave it on the bike. unless I could lock it in a case/trunk.
@@RykerRydes A helmet will not fit in the top case. It will fit in the Shad side mount pod, and it's lockable. Great vid!
You can actually use both. The 1 up won’t lock but you can use two screws to hold it in place, obviously you can’t use the cubby plastic behind it but they’ll work just fine. That’s how I have mine.
Isn’t the backrest leaving marks on your seat? It looked like it could easily rip the seat (stuffed in there)
Does your passenger seat lock into the max mount tab with backrest cowl removed???
Amazon has pleanty of seats for passengers that also provide back rests for the driver.
How much luggage can you attach when the passenger seat is set up? Like if you want to go on an overnight trip, with a passenger, you might need to bring more luggage. Can two side-saddle luggage pieces still be attached?
Unfortunately I have not tried it with a passenger.
Nice! Where can I find the foot pegs?
For the passenger? They come with the second seat.
Ryker Rydes Thank you!
The two up seat with back support could be used as the one up seat with the back support.just need to modify the bracket.
Very cool! Thank you!
For the bracket/cross member. You mentioned in a previous reply about loosening bolts to make it fit. Which bolts are you referring to? 👀
Hi Joe. Under the seat there is a small metal plate that has screws in it. Loosen those. Hope this helps. If not we can video chat.
Hi...
The rear seat does not have any OEM or aftermarket lock....:(
I have only seen one video on TH-cam that addresses this issue with two solutions.
Have you found any lock solutions???
HI Eric! No, I have not found a locking solution. I guess I am just too trusting. Locking it, is probably a good idea though!

Hey... thanks for getting back to me.
Oh and way to go Tina 👍👍👍
Maybe you could find a small cushion that helps support your lower back and use sticky velcro to attach it to the back seat rest.
I ended up keeping the back rest and getting rid of the passenger seat. I like riding solo! Thank you for watching.
Hey Beth! Can you share the link to your tripod in the background?
Hi there! Sorry for the delay. Here is the link: amzn.to/38YvQL8
That's awesome, thanks for sharing!
Great video! Very informative.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching!
@@RykerRydes thaks for your advierte Beth greeatings
@@RykerRydes thanks for your advice
Great install video. I installed a backrest on my Spyder last weekend. It does make going two up alot easier.
Having a backrest makes all the difference!!
Doesnt the back rest lock in place with the push lock from the passenger seat?
No, sadly it does not. The max mount has that one hole to add attachments. It can either be the 1 up backrest OR the passenger seat OR the storage system. You have to choose.
Will the locking pin for the passenger seat go through the mounting hole of your solo backrest? It may lock into place. That way you can have both...
Nope, tried that. Good thought though.
Thanks a million for this video!!! I was able to install my seat with ease.
Awesome Greg!! So happy to hear!!
Me running to my seat to push it further down... 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ Glad my mother didn't fly off of it lol. Thanks for the video
Wow! That’s crazy. Glad my video helped. Ride safe!
I was thinking that when you have the backseat the passenger can be your backrest and when there's no passenger then you can use the back rest, just a thought :D
I like the way you think!
I purchase the backrest and passenger seat when I got the bike. yesterday I went by the hand guards and the driver Comfort seat it feels good
Yup, it is so fun to make the bike your own!! Have fun!
Thanks for the info.
Where you got that garage flooring from please?
Thanks,
I know I have a link to it in the description section of an earlier video. I’ll have to look for it.
Did your back seat come with the foot pegs or was it separate for them?
Yes, Derrick, the backseat DOES come with the passenger foot pegs.
They are ways around to put the back rest on with the second set ,,
Hi Ryker Rydes,
Please could you make a subjet regarding the new models Ryker 2022 and the major differences with the actual models.
Thanks and sorry for my english
As soon as I can get my hands on one I will. Great idea. In the meantime hope this helps:

I have the ultimate seat ordered and was looking for the passenger pegs for my wife but I am not sure her legs are long enough to reach the passenger foot pegs? My wife 4'10". The ultimate seat sits higher also. Have you seen short people on the back of the Ryker have issues reaching to passenger foot pegs?
Great question. I am not sure, as I don’t have an ultimate seat. But I do know that Slingmods now sells passenger foot pegs. And I think they are adjustable.
Love you guys videos I didn’t know u guys were in Florida as well..
Thanks so much! Where in Florida are you? Let's ride!
what's the weight capacity on the back seat?
Hi! The Ryker (as far as my research) does not specify a max weight for the passenger seat.
Total max weight capacity is 449 lbs or 204 kg (this includes the driver and any cargo)
@@RykerRydes thanks.. I cant wait to get one of these. Just need to sell my 2 wheeler
Thanks Kevin!! I appreciate you watching.
hi beth i’ve been wondering if you have the 600 or the 900, and how many miles do you get in between fill up?
Hi!! I have the 900 ace and get about 110 miles on a full tank of gas.
That was a very helpful video. I think if I were a passenger I would want the larger back rest on the passenger seat. It would give me more security from fear of falling off backwards.
Agreed, most people go with the larger one. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
Thank you. Awesome Videos.
Glad you like them!
Slide the bars back and your backrest will fit...I think.
Hey how to put my truck cover on my ryker 900 it popped off please help me

Got passenger seat on…but the button won’t push down to lock it.. I tried to remove seat but it’s now stuck on…why can’t I push down button to lock
It is hard for me to help you without being in front of your bike. But you have to make sure the seat is pushed on all the way so the lever in the hole are 100% lined up. If you have a dealership nearby, they could definitely help you very easily. Sorry you are having troubles.
Where can I buy the passenger foot pegs?
Hi Carlos. Unfortunately I do not know anyone that sells just the passenger pegs. You also need a support bracket that comes with a passenger seat.
Hello please make a video of can am ryker stem bolt fix
Hmm that’s a great idea, but not sure I want that responsibility/liability. 🤔
What size bolt is the silver one that holds the support bracket? And can you buy those anywhere? I lost one when installing so I only have 3 installed. Thanks for any guidance…
I don’t have that exact info. Try going to www.cheapcycleparts.com They have every exact part listed.
Do you know where I can purchase the passenger foot pegs separately?
Absolutely! Call Extreme Propulsion in GA. 770-386-9430. They will order a set and mail it directly to you.

Well 15 years of riding never used a back rest. Good review though. I would keep the back seat on, personally, you can always tie a bag to the rear seat for storage.
Great idea. Thanks for watching!
get an ultimate it's a seat and back seat In one and has back rest for both driver and passenger
The only reason why I haven't is because I need the storage in the back. But yes, Ultimate and Corbin make AMAZING seats.
