Hey Alex, thanks for sharing, since many years i was waited this reedition, and what a pity, in fact it's just the same than the 1/25 sedan with same defect ( front and rears fenders are too short, front fenders to body shape is badly made below hood...) so I will stay cool cause it's a very old kit, from end of seventies, may be more.....so nice to could refind it again even with defects ! thanks for sharing bro !
Your first car build was outstanding, and more you have a good heart and a caring soul to build this for a kid that you don't know and give it to him, YOU HAVE SO MUCH RESPECT FOR YOU. Alex keep up the outstanding work
this turned out a very nice model Alex !!! you did a great job on it. This car will be very special to that kid !!!!! you will have made his day and that is the most important about it
you did a great job doing your first car build , i basically stay away from them myself lol. one thing i learned though , when you put on the clear coat , if you think you have enough layers on put another on , you can never have enough clear coat on them ... great job and the kid will love it
sometimes the small and easy kits are the best ones :) you pulled it off nicely and your car building skills are much better than mine i have seen! very well done alex :)
Alex, Very big respect for your work! Switching from military modeling into a car model is like switching worlds! My next project is an 1/16 Countach. I did some research before. It's like different techniques, different way of thinking, different chemicals. I'm like afraid and excited at the same time! I'm sure this kid is very happy now! Greetings! Have a nice weekend!
You shouldn't let it bother you. It's just another modele and you need to think like that. Don't go in being afraid of the kit. But know your limits to. Build something similar but not as complicated and hone your skills. Nothing wrong with admiting you're not ready for it.
I have doubts that kit has ever been treated so tenderly, looks great buddy. (sorry for the late comment, I saw this come up on my sub feed but got snowed under trying to catch up... something else reminded me that, Yeah, didn't I see Alex building a car?!?) You done good, and for great reasons. BTW, stay off the fancy desserts, eh, bud! (haha, I saw that pot you thinned the paint in!)
Good job :) I got VW Buggy (Empi Imp) and Opel GT from this Revell's series and in my opinion they need a bit more work on sanding the body. Especially Opel. Sanding paper or sponges required xD to make body as smooth as in real car.
I've got another you can try. Revell Germany has reissued the CMK kit of the war time VW in 1-35 scale. CMK makes several different resin kits for it from engine to having one or both doors open with P/E details. DEF makes some great resin tyre sets too. You can also build it stock. They were a status symbol to be able to drive in. The best resin set is the SS version. It's a real bargain if you want to open doors. That's a great story. I know just how you feel. I've done things like that myself and there is no greater reward than their joy.
Good and surprising work, Alex! If you build the Revell/CMK make sure you buy aftermarket wheels. The ones in the kit (2 sets!) Are garbage! You can see my build on that :)
Hallo Alex, What a beautyfull "Käfer". November Work. One question: In one of your Videos you was using the "AK Luftwaffe Camouflage" fromm AK, which thinner die you use for it? Greetings from Germany Gruss Bernd.
Jan. 3, 2018---Thanks for the video, mainly because it answered one question for me: seeing the steering wheel is on the left side. Was going to buy the Airfix kit, but it's on the right side. Getting into 1/35th scale zombie/apocalypse dioramas which is why I ended up buying several diecast VW's (buses & bugs) in 1/32nd & 1/36th scale instead. Figure there's more fat Americans for zombies to munch on than say, any country in Europe.
