Hi Alex ,happy to see you hope you are well,i agree with you that's a nice model . Who cares that that ship never existed , the most imported thing is ..........having fun building it 😉😉
Come on Alex, it has the magic word, " Pirate " that's good enough. 😁 Hope you and your loved ones have a Great, Healthy and safe Holiday Season! 🎅🎁🎁🎁🎁❄❄☃ Best Wishes, Tony
I have french blood in my veins and seeing the details of this kit. Now I have to get it now. The gold paint that I can put on this ship and more paints that I could do with this would be unbelievable. And yes I like the weathering. And I am putting this kit on my shopping cart.
Hey there Alex, Long long time since we spoke. I'm really diggin this build. I'm looking forward to the next part. I hope all is well in your part of the world. Take care
This is awesome! Always brings a smile to my face to model and listen to Alex doing his builds….as I do mine on days I can. I’m sure Alex knows that this is an art form and shouldn’t be limited to rigid, narrow thinking. It’s always nice to put a unique, original spin on things and think outside of the box. Build it, and it WILL exist. Thanks Alex!🖖🏻😎
I agree with your opinion, I don't care if it existed or not, if you like it, build it. You won't find many people who would agree with that type of opinion when it comes to the Starship Enterprise (TOS or other)! So keep on trucking! I'm thinking og getting that one too! 😊
Alex, your wood effect painting is outstanding. The perfect blend of the right products combined with the right skillset. Looking forward to the next installment. Er... you will be using wooden deadeyes on your shrouds, right? 😊
Even if that ship did not exist, it is still a stunning one. And if you like it, why would not you build it, I really do not care if it is not accurate, it looks great, and you have fun building it!! So keep working on this amazing build Alex, I absolutely do enjoy watching it and learn from your techniques !!
@@AlexModeling it is with great pleasure, absolutely enjoy every one of your videos Alex, they are great and like you say it is always with a smile !! So what is there not to love there ?
Alex, as a long time follower and dedicated fan i cannot thank you more for your generous gift! I am extremely thankful for your amazing act of kindness. God bless and thank you! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Another magical modelling masterclass from Alex. I have looked at this kit. It is very expensive and demands a skill level in modelling that, I hope, to aspire to one day. Thank you once again, Alex. 🙂
The black and gray coloring suits this ship much more. This is the Black Pearl, the ship of Captain Jack Sparrow, the model of which was developed by the Russian firm Zvezda. I assembled it ten years ago, when it was just released, and when they had not yet lost the right to call it the "Black Pearl".
Well Alex, thanks to your inspiring video here, I did it, I managed to find one of these kits and got it. The kit was not cheap, and I will not attempt it until I feel ready as I still have lots to learn, but it will be waiting for that day! Needless to say, I will be keenly interested in how you progress with yours, taking notes as I go. No rush though Alex as I know how difficult making these superb videos you do are.
@@AlexModeling I do Alex, it's the 2nd most expensive kit I've ever bought, the first being a 1:350 Hasegawa N.Y.K Line Hikawa Maru. Already ordered some 1:72 English Pirate figures for the deck by Orion. I think they will help bring the ship to life. 🙂 Anyways, still lots to learn from yourself, Harry in Australia too but one day, I will build it! In too deep to turn back now! 😄
Alex, I haven't seen the whole video yet but I hope that you mentioned somewhere in it that it is exactly the same copy of Black Pearl 1:72 by Revell (copied by Zvezda and presented as if it is their own model) with just one change - the figure. The color scheme that the manufacturer provided seems too toyish. I think it it would be better to preserve the scheme (since you decided to have it this way) but make it more natural wood tone to make it more appealing. And by the way for those who still don't know that this model is not the 1:72 scale. It is closer to 1:96
please please please tell us that you are going to do a part 2 to show the full build. Who cares if the model doesnt exist in reality .. in the 1970s I builf the Revell Peter Pan "Jolly Roger" pirate ship and that came from a cartoon... and building it with my Grandfather is one of the happiest memories I have.
they based it on Black Pearl, which herself is supposed to be a 1700 east india man, but according to a Turkish friend of mine, it's actually very similar to ottoman ships around the time, so maybe it is an old turkish ship, captured or sold to Italian merchants maybe? then sold to the French or english and then ending up in the carribean... a stretch maybe, but stranger carreers were had by ships in those times!
@@AlexModeling thanks. I meant CA glue. what is exactly that glue. I discovered that they are all very different and sometimes you can scew the whole thing using the wrong one. also CA glues differ from one place to another. that's why I thought it is a good point to mark which CA glue is that. For instance there is a super glue. there a cosmofen in my place
i think the kit tirns out awesome but for me it was to big and the rigging would drive me crazy , dsepite yeah dryfit is so importent i had me alot bitten in the butt bcuz i didnt dryfit but i learned it by now
That's the second time I've watched the video Alex and you have convinced me to attempt weathering the Revell Mayflower that it is taking an extraordinarily long time to build. Vintage 1966 (ouch!) it has put me, as a novice who wants to do his 72 year old best, through so many trials I nearly scuttled it dozens of times. I have an "Iwon't be defeated" mentality but this is above a joke. In your video of Revell 1/225 Victory you mentioned the flash and sink holes? Don't build the Mayflower. I'm sure you would find the challenge less daunting but .......Anyhow you have given me fresh hope and so onward, ever onward and with a smile instead of a grimace. Thank you Alex.
Fabulous as usual Alex. Attention to detail is amazing. I've agreed with everything EVERYTHING you have said on this build. Thank you and best wishes from England.
Nice build, Alex. Thank you for sharing! I had done a Revell Thermopylae 1:96 a few years ago, it was a fun build. BTW, Are you planning to replace the plastic sails to cloth? it will look much more alive in my opinion. Good luck building!

Totaly agree! 😄
I add weights inside my bases and the hulls, coins etc. Super glued, just gives a nice feel and a nice weight to the model
I have the same kit! I haven’t built it yet because my skills won’t do it justice atm. So glad you’re building this
Try it! Have fun! Good luck you can do it! 😃🇵🇹👍

You are absolutly right... The kit hás me on "Pirate"
Fantastic job! Thanks for this.
Glad you liked it!

It is my intention! However sails are molded Im the masts... And that just PIS*** me off...
Once again, first class work👍🏼🤘🏼
Fantastic techniques - have learned much from your video's, especially sailing ship models!!!
Thanks for modeling this kit. I keep seeing it for sale, but, as an indication of its quality, it is simply too expensive for me.

It's great classical shape
I would use a bit thicker rope for anchors
The modeler shouldn't build existing objects models. He should build a model he enjoys. And the kit looks awesome. I hope to get it one day.
I hope so too
So true

Alex, so the ship didn't exist, modelers build Science fiction models. You build what you like. I think the weathering looks great.
Hello! Thank you!
I think this could be a nice representation of a Spanish early 18th century frigate?
Hey Alex, no part 2? Did the pirates make you walk the plank?
Build what you like and what you want heck i goin to buy une of those to build bowser flying main ship.
Very nice. When will the next video be available
And please tell about your fine brushes, what are they exactly it is much more anticipated as you might think
If you paint it all black it’s basically the black pearl from potc.
they based it on Black Pearl, which herself is supposed to be a 1700 east india man, but according to a Turkish friend of mine, it's actually very similar to ottoman ships around the time, so maybe it is an old turkish ship, captured or sold to Italian merchants maybe? then sold to the French or english and then ending up in the carribean... a stretch maybe, but stranger carreers were had by ships in those times!
Indeed! Thank you! Plausable! 👍👍
tá muita porreiro, eu pessoalmente teria ido para cores mais escuras na "madeira" por o navio mais "sinistro", mas gostei
Eu já construí o perola negra á escala mais pequena á uns anos atrás, daí ter optado por estas cores agora. Abraço
"Why did you build a model of an imaginary pirate ship?"
"Because I wanted to."
Since when did we modelers only build kits that existed 😂😂😂 theres nothing wrong with making something that doesnt exist. As long as you have fun.
Indeed thats the main rule! 😊👍🇵🇹
What’s the glue used on video, is it custom made, since you told about paints, please tell about the glue
I show on the vídeo. Its Tamyia glue. And CA glue.

Thank YOU! Never loose that 15 year old kid inside of you! Go for it! 👍
😊😊😅😊😮😊😅
She looks like a merchant or early indiaman
I agree
How much did it cost you ?
Oh i paied for it! Costed me the same to you... Try online.
Wasnt this kit based on the black pearl
Having another look, all I will say is this is an amazing kit, but Revell need to up their game with the crap boxes, too flimsy Revell.
I think you have pitched the weathering about right. Too much and it is going todraw attention away from the fine details of the model.
Fabulous as usual Alex. Attention to detail is amazing. I've agreed with everything EVERYTHING you have said on this build. Thank you and best wishes from England.
