yeah but it was even worse for Helen Keller bcuz sshe was born that way. Julia went deaf at 20 YO and blind at 4. So she was already taught the world thru her ears. Which makes it much easier to learn the hand sign language. Not saying it's easy by any means. She is a true inspiration. I'm just saying the fact that that woman was able to teach Helen Keller anything is a miracle in itself.
For anyone wondering: This little girl turned out just fine and is now an adult. Only saw some pictures bur she also had one with both of her parents so I am sure I found the right person. Disabled parents can be wonderful or horrible parents just like any able bodied parent can be.
Julia is truly remarkable. Having a baby is challenging for anyone. Most moms need help and I think she recognizes it, but she was being scrutinized with the expectation of failure. Good for her proving everyone wrong. The way I see it, she needs help mostly having people visit and talk to her so her baby learns how to communicate on a hearing world.
I hope so badly that they are all doing well!! I stumbled upon their story this morning and just adore the kindness in Julia and Isla is precious. Sending so much love, wherever they are!
Aww, The baby is so beautiful and healthy! So happy for Julia, and it's great that she had help to live and thrive as a mother. A mother's instincts are very strong. Happy to hear she got married and had two more kids.
I think she loved and appreciated him but had a wall built around herself preventing her from displaying amd saying it - but I think she did need her eyes opened
ableism + the tough exterior she had to built to protect herself from it + all the ableism social services agents was her problem. Julia was clearly capable from the beginning + had to fight doubters + prove herself twice over every step of the way. she needed help but she should’ve been able to direct + determine what that help was + how it was received. she should’ve been treated + respected + listened to as if she knew her own life + her own needs better than anyone else ever could. it wasn’t until they figured that out that things got smoother. thank god we do things better now. even though the ableism is still just as bad + ever present. especially in the minds of abled spectators who think they know better than the disabled person when it comes to identifying their “problems” + what they need. 🙄
@@tiffanypenaguzman749right when it comes to HER. but unfortunately when you have a child, even NOT deaf and blind you need help. How will she know if her child has a bruise or a bump or a rash... I’ve been blind since birth, and this was very interesting for me to listen to. I do have a few deaf-blind friends. I can relate to her attitude with people trying to help me and my husband out so I try to let them know in a nicer way when I first meet them. 18:0118:06 6 am. 18:5819:37
Oh my word this is one impressive woman. Wow! I'd not have imagined that someone who is both deaf and blind would cope with a child almost alone. Pretty headstrong too. That her child senses her mother's challenges is fascinating to me. Impressive!
that kid is a special made to order for her mum bubba what a delightful child.. and much respect to her mum and her mums caseworker and her partner ...amazing guys applaud you xx
I can't imagine the bond they feel without her hearing and seeing , the bond must be 100 times more, it makes me feel like I can be a 100 times better of a mother
As a blind mother of three in the United States, I understand why Julia was apprehensive and abrasive with social services. They just assumed because she was a person with a disability that she had to have around the clock help. She’s a beautiful, wonderful mother and I hope for, the best for her and her family.
i work with severely disabled children. Bringing up a baby who is deaf & blind. wow Don’t know how to feel about this. She will always need help. But i have deep respect ❤ being blind & deaf what an courageous women. Not being able to hear or see your child….
It seems to me she wants John around because it makes her entire life easier. Even by the end she couldn’t just say I love him. It’s I need him. I hope over there tears she was able to truly love him not just as someone who helps take care of her and the children. I hope she shows and tells him how much she loves him and vise versa.
she communicated to the audience that she loved him in other words. also, “i need” doesn’t just have to mean need physically. people say that all the time + mean they need their partner or loved one emotionally. to me it’s pretty clear she loved him (which doesn’t negate or diminish John’s very valid need to hear that more directly, especially if that’s more in line w| his love language). it’s also clear she hates being seen as vulnerable more than anything else. i mean, this entire documentary is about her resenting her own vulnerability!
She needs to be grateful that so much help and assistance is available to her, graciously accept it, and drop the attitude. It's good for her to have determination but common sense needs to prevail.
Me, too, LOL. She reminds me of some old people at the assisted living home where my Mother lives. Rude and argumentative and think they can get away with it because they are old.
She’s scared and hasn’t had the proper opportunity to learn how to express her emotions through communication. Listen to how she spoke about the man John leaving ”I didn’t know he needed me to say I love him. I thought it was enough that I showed him”. In a previous sequence Julia said she wasn’t ready to say she loved John. She has been left with a baby and only had the help from social services, no family around in either of the documentaries. Then also add the types of disabilities she has, both blind and deaf. I think most would get complicated being cut off from the world in this way, which she is with her disabilities. There is zero mention of parents, her childhood or siblings or other relatives or old time friends. It’s mainly new staff from the social services coming in and out. Many who never dealt with or had proper training in dealing with someone in Julie’s situation. Being stubborn is what kept her integrity and her having her child in her life in the first place. It has also granted her a living situation where she has her own home, and not just placed at a care home. The list goes on of things contributing to her not reading as your norm person in terms of behavior. I’ll personally give her lots of grace with all that in mind, even though she also needed to do better and learn how to tend toothers she invited it eg. John.
The main thing would be to find a solution so she can detect when the baby is crying when it is not next to her...nowadays it would probably be a vibrating babyphone (instead of one with a microphone or a light notification)
I agree with you. She wasn't even doing anything. Not that there is ever an excuse. But, how often does she get smacked if Julia feels she is misbehaving? Absolutely dreadful.
First reaction shocked but I think there's a specific reason for it that we wouldn't know - something like she's trying to train her child to leave her hands down so that she (mom) can feel her hands to communicate with her like before each spoonful (a kind of behavioural training for special communication, a way to adapt to her disabilities so that she can properly communicate to her child). And if you think about it, smacking her hands is what sighted parents do to their kids at times too to get a message across.
Her speaking is so good because she didn’t lose her hearing completely until she was 20. So up until then she heard so she learned how to speak well like any of us.
Nope. I met quite a few deaf people, they were all completely deaf since they were born. I didn't realize they were deaf until they casually mentioned it about a year later (they thought I already knew, so the topic never came). So no, they don't need 20 years of hearing to learn how to speak. They only need decent teachers and by the age of 3 they'll have completely full conversations like any kid their age. Oh, by the way, they also had a couple of deaf and blind friends since born and they'd also speak perfectly fine.
She's is wonderful, many hearing and sighted parents do not put in that much willpower and effort into their children. I would be proud if my mother had advocated for my rights the way Julia advocated for Baby Ayla.
Julia needs to thank her lucky stars for social services. It's WHY she can live on her own. $$$ Ayla is doing great because Julia HAS had the help of social services, people to help her, make her dinners, clean her house, help hold, talk to , make visual contact and respond to Ayla. Show some gratitude.
True that, I use to work in Uk with disable people and some of them were so entitled... not that I expected some gratitud but at least be nice to me. But some of them were lovely people that I still miss
That's exactly what social services is designed for. Think of all the incompetent ablebodied people out there who need help with their children. It takes a village. This is what that Village is there for.
Yeah well without her strong push for independence and proving everyone else wrong-she definitely wouldn’t have a right to her own child. She’s amazing and the one person I can think who is entitled to help as an amazing human being who holds her own to the very highest level she can given the cards she was dealt.
She is only coping because of her husband. Watched a few documentaries about her, Ayla was left crying for hours waaaay too many times that's why she attached so easily to others when small.
I felt the feeling of abandonment that Ayla seemed to feel. That light in her eyes were gone when John left. And she looked unkept. But as soon as he came back, those eyes lit back up with assurance. I’m happy John realized that he had to be there for Ayla. And Julia, has become more calmer with him.
Well I eat my words...good for Julia! I could go back and delete my comment on part one video, but nope...I deserve to be ashamed of myself. I'm proud of you Julia, you made it!

As a mom that has had two C-sections, one that was not emergent after 20 hours of labor and my last being emergent when his placenta started detaching while I was in labor I absolutely cannot not fathom the trauma of going through what she did while being deaf and blind. Her friends crying because there just wasn’t anything they could do to help her in that moment and they probably felt so awful for her was so real.
How traumatic! I admire that she has gone on to have a happy family a husband and more children. I doubt after that I would even think of it. She’s an incredibly strong mom and women and wife.
this experience from another human being is very inspiring but Julia needed to be more appreciative of the efforts of social services. As a mother I understand the stance that she took but it was logical from their angle bcuz realistically, she did get help and she needed the help long before John came. Well done to her though, for fighting to keep Ayla. It was great the way she humbled herself when John left but I guess they both needed that time apart. God bless her and her beautiful family!
How can she be sitting on the couch, petting her dog, while the baby is crying her eyes out? And claiming she dont need help? That's like, i dont hear het crying, i dont hear her crying, so she isnt crying?
Yes! She doesn’t have to see or hear any pain from the child so she’s not in tune to it at all… I think she’s very entitled and selfish. She smacked that poor child harshly for nothing.
Julia is remarkable... but it shocked me when she smack Alya on the hand :/ I have got to say... Alya is absolutely gorgeous. Why would you even think about giving up the one you already have???? This story just get worse.... it's heart breaking
She's a very intelligent woman, of course she knew he would want her to say she loved him. She was throwing up brick walls to protect herself because of being burned by the married man, Ayla's birth father.

Shame on him for up and leaving her Aylah and his baby. I’m so disappointed in him. Grow up, you made the choice to create a baby so work it out.
Social services were worried for the baby and Julia failed to understand that. She doesn’t need to be rude to Sandra as she was leaving. She will understand later in life I hope. I wounded why her mom doesn’t want to help her. John walked on her and will leave her again. She makes it difficult for her self and other and mostly her baby. Pray for her🙏

Having social services breathing down your neck constantly/near constantly, it can cause major stress that can make a parent unable to properly parent, especially those with disabilities or mental conditions caused by extreme stress
@@theunforgiven2885 I had social services breathing down my neck at my most vulnerable point, (I'm autistic and because I "mask" well) I wasn't considered "parent material" because I didn't do or feed exactly what cfs expected at "THEIR" time. Kids often eat dinner anywhere between 4-7 pm, depending on the household (playtime, study time, sleep time). My kids were fed, at minimum, 5 times a day (while breastfed) and after they were weaned, still insisted to be breastfed, despite my persuasion to move to cow's pasteurized milk CFS doesn't approve because that would mean mom and baby have a strong bond, and cfs wants to break that bond so that they control, everything you do, indirectly or even directly in some cases
School forgot to bus my child. SS came to my house for months. That was years ago. I still can’t allow myself to make a mistake. I bought all my kids phones so they can contact me if school forgets them. I clean from 8:30am-3:30am. I don’t allow them outside alone. My 17yr old was outside, coming home from a friends, and SS said I wasn’t responsible. I had to use the restroom so I wasn’t at the door to greet my daughter. I have MS. I look a fright. They were very unkind about how my appearance would emotionally damage my kids. Even when I have a stroke like episode, I hide it, because you can’t show weakness to these people. 9 more years, and I can go to sleep.
I'm glad I looked through the comments before watching because I would have been bawling my eyes out when he left, but this comment let me know I don't have to let myself be an emotional wreck lol
very obviously a different time period... I was shocked when she smacked Ala's hands and yelled at her during meal time... WTF??? A child doesn't learn that way. I really was rooting for Julia, but now I feel a tinge of concern

I'm just saying the fact that that woman was able to teach Helen Keller anything is a miracle in itself.
Totally in awe of this lovely lady... what a fantastic mother she is... so happy for them...
For anyone wondering: This little girl turned out just fine and is now an adult. Only saw some pictures bur she also had one with both of her parents so I am sure I found the right person.
Disabled parents can be wonderful or horrible parents just like any able bodied parent can be.
Where did you saw it?
Also curious
@@daynalynnxo me2
Where did you find pictures?! I haven't found anything but a few articles and none of them had pictures of the little girl more grown.
I'm so proud for Julia, I noticed she smiles most of the time. I feel Julia is making a great parent and is doing great with her well behaved baby.
This story was so real, it’s taught me how blessed I am. Through her strength!❤️🙏
I hope so badly that they are all doing well!! I stumbled upon their story this morning and just adore the kindness in Julia and Isla is precious. Sending so much love, wherever they are!
so cool how so young she helps her mother by touching. plus so smart
Aww, The baby is so beautiful and healthy! So happy for Julia, and it's great that she had help to live and thrive as a mother. A mother's instincts are very strong. Happy to hear she got married and had two more kids.
I think losing John for a time was probably a real eye-opener for Julia. Not appreciating people was part of her problems
Me too. It was an eye opener.
@@TJHutchExotics completely agree.
@@hellaSwankkyToo they gave her the kind of help she requested 🙄 ugh! Go safe a woman who needs your help.. this lady was amply accommodated
Talking to her via signing in her hand is amazing!!!
Julia's carer is a very patient and wonderful help to her; I think she should accept all the assistance she is offered.
She doesn’t have to, if she doesn’t want help it should not be forced.
@@tiffanypenaguzman749right when it comes to HER. but unfortunately when you have a child, even NOT deaf and blind you need help. How will she know if her child has a bruise or a bump or a rash... What if a stranger walked in...Ayla needs someone to show her the things Julia can not . you didn't see the real version of this. At one point the baby was in the cot all day. 😢
@@sistatiph2308and how did you find that out?
She’s so amazing! Her child is beautiful abs I’m so happy she has John now❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼
Aww she is a smart little girl. Beautiful family. Wishing them all the best . God bless them. ❤️🙏🏽🇨🇦
I was looking all
Over TH-cam and the web in hopes of finding this. I had heard mention from a viewer of the last documentary about Julia. So excited to watch!
So just to let you know I heard she got married to John she had this son that she's pregnant within this show and then one more kid
I’ve been blind since birth, and this was very interesting for me to listen to.
I do have a few deaf-blind friends.
I can relate to her attitude with people trying to help me and my husband out so I try to let them know in a nicer way when I first meet them. 18:01 18:06 6 am. 18:58 19:37
Oh my word this is one impressive woman. Wow! I'd not have imagined that someone who is both deaf and blind would cope with a child almost alone. Pretty headstrong too. That her child senses her mother's challenges is fascinating to me. Impressive!
I knew she would just be an amazing mama! So proud of you Julia!
All she did was leave the bby crying and was selfish of every person who came in her home to only try to help.
Julia has been an inspiration in my life,,
I love her and her family...
I wish she had more videos,,I would love to follow,,,thank u Julia ...
that kid is a special made to order for her mum bubba what a delightful child.. and much respect to her mum and her mums caseworker and her partner ...amazing guys applaud you xx
This was so sad. I read the comment down below. I’m so glad she found happiness. Can’t believe he walked out.
I am so glad for the happy ending. Her friend, the social worker and husband seems to be sent from God to bless Julia. Beautiful family.
I can't imagine the bond they feel without her hearing and seeing , the bond must be 100 times more, it makes me feel like I can be a 100 times better of a mother
Julia, you are a better mom and person than I ever was. ❤
As a blind mother of three in the United States, I understand why Julia was apprehensive and abrasive with social services. They just assumed because she was a person with a disability that she had to have around the clock help. She’s a beautiful, wonderful mother and I hope for, the best for her and her family.
Props to you! ❤
exaaaaaactly. this is what nobody else in the comments seems to get or understand. this exactly!
+ i’m sure i know why that is.
I wouldn't want these ppl in my business at all
It's obvious she cannot look after a baby by herself......
She is not only blind but also deaf. Maybe not her, but her baby will need help of someone else all the time.
i work with severely disabled children. Bringing up a baby who is deaf & blind. wow Don’t know how to feel about this. She will always need help. But i have deep respect ❤ being blind & deaf what an courageous women. Not being able to hear or see your child….
Loved watching this! Julia has a strong personality but she is truly amazing and so is Ayla and John…3 amazing souls…wow! 🙏💪💖
I’m so so happy to see she’s doing so good!! Live your best life Julia, you deserve it as much as anybody and more!! 💕🙏🏻💕
It seems to me she wants John around because it makes her entire life easier. Even by the end she couldn’t just say I love him. It’s I need him. I hope over there tears she was able to truly love him not just as someone who helps take care of her and the children. I hope she shows and tells him how much she loves him and vise versa.
She did say she loves him and that she and Ayla and the new baby need him.
she communicated to the audience that she loved him in other words. also, “i need” doesn’t just have to mean need physically. people say that all the time + mean they need their partner or loved one emotionally.
to me it’s pretty clear she loved him (which doesn’t negate or diminish John’s very valid need to hear that more directly, especially if that’s more in line w| his love language). it’s also clear she hates being seen as vulnerable more than anything else. i mean, this entire documentary is about her resenting her own vulnerability!
She needs to be grateful that so much help and assistance is available to her, graciously accept it, and drop the attitude. It's good for her to have determination but common sense needs to prevail.
This lady is very complicated to get along with. Too stubborn. I admire all helpers and social workers for their enorm patience.
I didn’t like the way she smacked her hands when she was feeding her. The baby is so well behaved and feeds herself
I didn’t like that either. I’m glad I’m not the only one that noticed that. Anyone know when this was actually filmed and how they are doing now?
I agree with you. She wasn't even doing anything. Not that there is ever an excuse. But, how often does she get smacked if Julia feels she is misbehaving? Absolutely dreadful.
Right and how often is she smacked off camera ? You can tell she has a bad temper
@@Garfieldisswag You're absolutely right. I completely agree with you.
So up until then she heard so she learned how to speak well like any of us.
ah thanks for that, I was wondering how she came to speak so well
She didn’t ask for this and Isabel amazing woman. No one wants to live with strangers and she does awesomely
How about giving Julia some credit! She wanted to keep her Baby ,being Blind, deaf. My Mom had 12 and kept 5! Julia’s a Great Mom!
What a traumatic birth. Her friend is amazing. Overwhelmed by the emotions.
Lisa you are such a good friend to Julia and not to mention how good you are with The baby ❤
And Julia, has become more calmer with him.
seriously? 😂 please stop projecting onto a whole 8month old baby.
wild! 😂🤦🏾♀️
@hellaswankky510 not that it matters but she was well over a year old at the time of projecting 😅
Well I eat my words...good for Julia! I could go back and delete my comment on part one video, but nope...I deserve to be ashamed of myself. I'm proud of you Julia, you made it!
♥️
Omg I love this lady “don’t ask stupid questions then” 😂
Julia is rude and defensive but it can be understandable why. Happy she can defend herself instead of agreeing with what she’s not comfortable with
I think if she hadn't been so defensive and head strong they would have taken her baby at birth. She did what she had to.
she should of been on birth control but workers and authorties cant enforce it.
@@mayhemmiracles700 what a horrible thing to say!

People in the comment section section say they are and they got married and now she has three children
What an incredible and determined woman!
We need more ! Thanks for this update
How traumatic! I admire that she has gone on to have a happy family a husband and more children. I doubt after that I would even think of it. She’s an incredibly strong mom and women and wife.
I would like a follow up and see Julia and her Daughter today. This should have been followed and it would have been the MOST amazing documentary.
Real hero is John... No Lohn means no Julia s family, he is real treasure, blessed person❤
this experience from another human being is very inspiring but Julia needed to be more appreciative of the efforts of social services.
JULIA YOU ARE AMAZING DONT LET PEOPLE BULLY YOU
The baby so beautiful !
Damn, I wasn’t deaf or blind and I had angst as to whether I could keep my children safe. These social workers are presumptuous.
Oww, it's 3am here. I have to wait til tomorrow. Julia is amazing.
My only concern is that she doesn’t hear the baby crying.
I cant figure out why they couldn't have trained the dog or a dog to alert her when the baby (or later child) is crying.
She smacked that poor child harshly for nothing.
exactly what I said...
Exactly,,poor baby.
Her husband John and their 3 children must just be an amazing family.
Julia is remarkable... but it shocked me when she smack Alya on the hand :/ I have got to say... Alya is absolutely gorgeous. Why would you even think about giving up the one you already have???? This story just get worse.... it's heart breaking
Same thing I said I was all emotional then she smacked her hand
That made sad too. Baby is so young but I guess she has to train her a certain way for them to communicate together. 🥺
wow the way she communicated with Lisa with the hand tapping was cool
Amazing how the baby knows ..
She's a very intelligent woman, of course she knew he would want her to say she loved him. She was throwing up brick walls to protect herself because of being burned by the married man, Ayla's birth father.
How can you have someone move in with you and get pregnant again but never say you love him.

Oh my goodness!! I wrote that comment only to see he left her. That’s terrible. Shame on him. If he needed her to say I love you, then he should have asked for what he needed. What an immature man! Shame on him for up and leaving her Aylah and his baby. I’m so disappointed in him. Grow up, you made the choice to create a baby so work it out.
She is such an inspirational woman!
Her situation is that she has to be an over achiever from the moment she wakes up THANKGOD FOR HER STUBBORNESS

I've watched this entire series and I really do hope that the father has been made to pay child support for this child.
Having social services breathing down your neck constantly/near constantly, it can cause major stress that can make a parent unable to properly parent, especially those with disabilities or mental conditions caused by extreme stress
I absolutely agree I'm so glad John maned up and came back because that was devastating things could have ended very differently for her ....
My kids were fed, at minimum, 5 times a day (while breastfed) and after they were weaned, still insisted to be breastfed, despite my persuasion to move to cow's pasteurized milk
CFS doesn't approve because that would mean mom and baby have a strong bond, and cfs wants to break that bond so that they control, everything you do, indirectly or even directly in some cases
John please stay 🙏my God bless you beautiful family !
i’m glad john came back
I'm glad I looked through the comments before watching because I would have been bawling my eyes out when he left, but this comment let me know I don't have to let myself be an emotional wreck lol
Awe, he's absolutely smitten with her
very obviously a different time period... I was shocked when she smacked Ala's hands and yelled at her during meal time... WTF??? A child doesn't learn that way. I really was rooting for Julia, but now I feel a tinge of concern
