I love your story. I'm glad you went to that show & it allowed you the confidence to keep going. A lot of times, artists just don't have that encouragement & reinforcement in their skills so they give up. I'm glad you kept at it - I love your work! It inspires me 💜
I haven't started any of these projects yet but your video was great. I've been watching a bunch of them lately and I really appreciate how you sped up the more tedious parts while showing us at the same time. Great job. Wonderful project. Very beautiful. Well done.
Another amazing piece. I really like the depth that shows up in the pictures, as well as the various colors that appear through the translucent layers. Great job! Thanks for sharing
Stupendous! I started watching videos way before I knew how to post a comment. Your videos have been favorites from the beginning. Not only are you a brilliant artist, you are an exceptional teacher. I look forward to your videos as more and more others do, too. Terrific!
Thank you REBECCA for commenting on my true opinion! I love your beautiful art work. As well as your presence! You always have tips that help me with my art work. Thanks again sweetz!
Stunning work! I love opals, and I'm just starting to learn about resin with great interest. I'm hoping one day I can create something even half as lovely. Thank you!
You are amazing. Seriously. I absolutely love what you speak about art, and sharing your story with us. I was also so scared, its comforting to hear others have had that struggle too. Thank you for making these projects, and teaching us how to accomplish fabulous art but not brand the bank. You are talented and a true gift. This piece is STUNNING! Ohhhhh, I am so so excited to work on one. I'm going to get supplies today. 😀 Thank you! So much.
Thank you SO much for your kind words and for watching. I have definitely had a long learning curve to work through and I still learn new things with each new piece.
Thank you for another great video.. uugh another one to add to my to do list lol. I love your honesty and sense of humor and your videos are so much better and informative than many others I have watched. I also want to thank you cor the pep talk about believing in your art. I am disabled and started doing this to help pass the long days in the house.. I still dont have the confidence in my work and Id love to sell some but I am nervous and dont know where to start. Thank you for putting my feelings onto words and for sharing your ideas and talent!
I can't tell you how much that means to me. Thank you for sharing that. My son has a disability and I always pray that he will have confidence in himself and trust that what he does with his life is beautiful and important. I'm sure that what you have made so far is wonderful to more people than me! You should start showing everyone!
@@thefrugalresinista I dont really know where to start, I dont work and dont have much of a social life. Any ideas, if you do leave me a private message if you want:)
I’ve scene a ton of videos on resin geod’s but I believe that I like your rendition much, much better! I’m going to try your technique!! Thx You Resin Queen!
I LOVE this! I've been playing with trying to get that opal-look for a while now! After watching your video, I am going to try your method! This turned out SO gorgeous!
This is beautiful! I’ve been wanting to start working with resin, you’ve really inspired me to do it. I’m an acrylic painter normally, and I’ve been trying to do boulder opal with mixed results. This is stunning and pretty much exactly what I was hoping to do. Thanks for the video!
A lovely piece of art! Since you were having some problems with the iridescent wrapping paper in the beginning, I had a few suggestions to make life easier for you. Start by using a heat gun (not open flame) to crinkle up the sheet, or try ironing it between 2 pieces of aluminum foil. Since you never know what the effect heat will be on materials, and what gasses will be released, invest in a really GOOD quality mask, the kind which keeps vapors out. If you can wear it and open a jar of Vicks but not smell it at all, then the off-gasses you produce won't be able to hurt you.
@@thefrugalresinista plastics based materials like that will usually crumple into interesting patterns when heat is applied...and as a costumer, I often have had things start to shrink and twist when I did NOT want them to!
Crystal Ma made a beautiful piece but it shows your talent being able to figure out how she actually did it. I would not have been able to do it by watching hers. Thank you for figuring it out and you taking the time to explain what to do and sharing it with us. Yours turned out really nice and I am going to try this out. Thanks so much.
Hello there, it's Deb here . Wow, I would love to learn how to do this. I've been in our way some form since I was born. My mother said I came out of the womb creating, LOL. I started making soap we're practicing making soap and started with melt and pour now I'm fixing to start working on cold the process and hot process soaps. I've also recently taken on doing liquid acrylic pours. I worked with acrylics in many ways but this was the first time that it really grabbed my attention like it has. Working with the acrylic top coat it's something I'm interested in trying I'm wanting to do a geode. It'll probably be another month or two I want to get a lot of my paint texture more balanced before I start geodes. This looks fascinating also and I would love to hang something like that on my wall or in a plate display. I think it would work out great in both. Thanks for another awesome video take care and God bless Deb
I am terrible at acrylics! Ha ha! I think that takes more talent! I would do a couple of things. 1) Read through the other comments on this video. A few people gave some awesome helpful tips that I haven't tried yet. 2) Just make sure that you don't add too much of the enamel paint on top. I always forget just how much it spreads after I put it on and end up with too much! I hope you try it!!!
Thanks! Yes, the quick coat comes in two parts, the resin and the hardener. They are mixed in equal parts volume but not weight. Part B is more dense so you want to measure to a line, not on a scale.
Do you have any issues with the glue gun glue holding up against the resin? I guess because I am from Florida/Texas sometimes I am concerned with heat potentially messing with the adhesive ability haha. I have always been scared about that with glue guns so I don't tend to use that as a tool! I'm probably missing out greatly!
Thanks! So that's the million dollar question! I struggle to answer this for myself as well as tell others how to price their art. The one thing that has helped me is that someone gave me the advice that with the cost of resin and supplies, many artists charge roughly $.75 to $1.00 per square inch. I tweak that back and forth based on how long it took to make the piece, how many layers of resin, etc... But I don't have a great answer. Hope that helps you a bit!
Sorry didn’t finish my question. Do you use Stone coat gap filler or something else? I am a little confused because they said the gap filler is cloudy. Thanks
Sorry. It's a bit confusing. If you go to the Quick Coat in the Art Resin section, they sell it without thickener. That is what makes it cloudy. You just have to make sure you click the one without thickener. Here it is.... www.stonecoatcountertops.com/product-page/quick-coat-no-thickener-artist-choice-1-gallon
Your videos have empowered me and inspired me to try resin art out!!! Thanks for making it seem more accessible and affordable. I'm also wondering what your art is resting on. Is it a silicone mat?

Not lightning ridge opal but just what i want to try its looks like boulder opal love it.
