I love your pantry cooking videos too as well as your practice of postponing your shopping trips. Both have had a big influence on me. Also, many congrats on your 200K viewer milestone. You deserve it and more! ♥
This video couldn't be more perfect in its timing. We are moving out of state in early December and I need to start using up everything we have. I am challenging myself to use up everything in our freezer between now and the time we close on our house. This video helps give me some wonderful ideas! Thank you!! ❤
I like the idea of the sausage and rice with veggies mix. It’s the perfect combination since I’ve got some corn bits and sausage that I need to use up. I’ve got some rice sides that I definitely can use. The other night I was in the mood for pizza but it’s just me. Im like I really don’t need to get a pizza. I then thought I’ll stop by a fast food place to pick up something. I got in the wrong lane and missed my exit. Then I was in the wrong lane to exit to go to another restaurant to pick up takeout. I settled on creating my own meal at home nope it wasn’t a homemade pizza it was a Mexican bowl.
I’m terrible about commenting because I usually watch on my TV…..but I had to say congrats on 200K 🎉🙏🏻🥰 Also, these pantry use up videos are my absolute fav…so inspiring!
I love your use-it-up videos. I take an inventory each month and try to use stuff up, tho I don’t think I’m as successfully as you. I’ve taken hints from these videos to make meal combos that I hadn’t thought of myself. Thanks for sharing! 🩷
Love these videos! Would love to see you take one type of meat and add $5 - $10 of ingredients to make family meals. We buy meat on sale or clearance so always trying to meal plan around it.
Love the Tigers hat!! I'm from the Detroit area so that made me happy. :-) Congratulations on hitting 200K. That's fantastic! Thank you for another fabulous video!!
Continuing to pray for you sweet Alma amongst your trials. May God continue to be your strength and comfort! Blessings from our family to yours from Australia xxx
Congratulations Mindy! Long time subscriber. Thank you for all that you kindly share helping families throughout our beautiful world purchase and make affordable, yummy and delicious meals for our families. Continuing to keep you and our family in our prayers. Love and God Bless from our family to yours from Australia xx
@@MrsAlmaTrumble , You are most welcome as do I. Thank you for all your prayers for myself and our family throughout the past few years also. I think we tend to enjoy the same channels on You Tube! Hehe God Bless xxx
Congratulations on your 200K Mindy! You totally deserve this! I hope more and more people can see your fantastic content that can often be helpful when in a pinch. 😄 I love the pantry cooking recipes, although we all have different pantries and preferences, it is always a good inspiration.
Congratulations on 200 k you have really help me I use to waste food not anymore I use what I have before I shop food. It to expensive to wast thanks mindy❤
Great video and ideas! More of this please. I do the same thing buy stuff for a specific recipe and then never make and now wonder what I was going to make or will now make with it!
I also will buy certain products for specific recipes and end up not using them. I had to evacuate twice, Helene and Milton. My house was spared and power restored in less than 24 hours. My food was still frozen. I am currently going through my pantry and freezer to make meals.
I usually plan a dinner each week where I have to find something to make with the bits of things we haven't used. Or if we have enough leftovers from the week.
Congrats on 200k subscribers! I've been watching for ages bc I love your recipes. This video was great bc I'm in the middle of my own use-it-up challenge. I think I can go 2 extra wks before I have to grocery shop!
I remember years ago when I was doing The FlyLady system she talked about cleaning out your fridge and doing inventory in your pantry before grocery shopping. So I love this type of video. New subscriber. Thanks.
Congrats on 200K subscribers!! Great video! I was just going to tell you if your cookies look “too puffy” while you’re baking them, after they are in the oven for about 5 minutes, you can open the oven door and press them down lightly and quickly, finish baking, and they will have the look appeal you want! (I just stick my fingers inside of a sandwich bag and press the cookies down quickly so I don’t burn my fingers doing it)
In used to keep heavy cream on hand for things like creamed spinach, creamy pastas and creamy soup but it had gotten so expensive I will not buy it right now. And that buckle looks amazing!
Hi Mindy!!! I just wanted to comment on how easy brown sugar is to make instead of buying. It is 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of molasses. I use my kitchen aid to make mine... but I feel that people that do not have one could use a regular wisk and do it by hand. Mix until it looks like brown sugar. I have a jar of molasses and a bag of sugar that so far I have made 4 bags of store bought brown sugar. If you are looking for dark brown sugar it's 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of molasses. Just a thought if anyone uses alot of brown sugar and would like to save some money.
Congrats on 200K!! 🎉 If your family likes pasta salad or macaroni salad, you could prepare the entire package of pasta and then create a pasta salad that could be used for lunches or snacks. Just a thought to eliminate the partial packages of pasta because I am now at that stage again. Thanks for all of these great ideas!
It gives me real joy to see a new SMM video in my feed, but especially at the end of a stressful day. You are like a bottle of wine for my nerves, only in YT-form, lol. ♥🍷🍷
Great video, great content! Tried to go to Thrive Market to look around, see what they have and prices but I couldn't without giving my email...big turnoff so I left!
Love your videos! I have a potential challenge for you but I definitely understand if it’s not something you’re interested in. My son has food allergies, the big ones that can be hard to deal with are milk and egg. I’d really like to see how you would handle a meal without milk and egg. I’m just curious what your take on that would be if you had to try it. Note - I don’t recommend plant based cheese though. 😂 We haven’t liked any of the ones we’ve tried and my husband and I are big cheese lovers like your family seems to be!
Mindy - please don’t take this as anything but constructive criticism. I am a long time fan but these “use it up” videos seem to be, for me at least, just a quick way for you to add a video. I have just noticed this lately. I really enjoy your shopping and then showing what you feed your family all week. I also enjoy your cooking a weeks worth at one time. Happy fall to you and yours.
Interesting. TH-cam provides us with a lot of analytics to see what our audience wants to watch. Things like total views, engagement (comments & likes), average watch time and watch retention. These are some of my most popular videos and people keep asking to see them, so I keep making them. They actually take me several days to film and edit. Hopefully that gives you some insight into why I make the videos I make. I do have some pet projects from time to time, but mostly, I make the videos the majority of my audience wants to watch and that fit within my lifestyle.
My mom accidentally forgot we already had boxed mac and cheese last week and bought 2 more.. problem is that now makes box #6. LOL Oh well, at least we have a quick side if we need it. And I love those Funfetti holiday cupcakes. They're fun.
Too much food can be a good problem to have. May I suggest using it like a hamburger helper base and add some pre cooked taco meat maybe for an easy taco Mac kinda dish. I currently have some leftover taco seasoned ground turkey in my freezer that is only enough for maybe lunch quesadillas but not actually tacos for the family. I’m gonna try the taco Mac with it to stretch into a supper main dish and serve with a few veggies on the side.
Okay Mindy, your comment about re-buying brown sugar reminded me of the viral Hoisin sauce song. Did you ever see that? There was an original and a bunch of parodies that I DEEPLY related to (see the 467 boxes of Mac and Cheese currently in my pantry).
I'm surprised you have random baking chips left over. Since they don't mess with the chemistry of the baked good, I'm always game to throw in a little extra if there's only a few tablespoons left. Or maybe those started out as a solid half-cup portions and got nibbled down to a few tablespoons by a child or a spouse? :)
That's exactly what happens! There may have been half a bag at some point, but people eat them a few at a time until there aren't enough left for a specific recipe. But just like cereal and bags of chips, nobody eats the last few handfuls. LOL!
I love how confident you are just putting things together
Has anyone else made something trying to use up what you have, create something fantastic, and have no idea how you made it?!
I call it a one hit wonder!
Totally, my family say it is sad because will never make it again.
So many times
Oh yeah, it happens all the time to me. LOL! That's the downside of this style of cooking, I suppose.

They were all short-cut pastas. The elbows I usually start first because they tend to take the longest to cook.
