Always love the videos! I’ll be trying my hand at catching a northern snakehead in 2025. I’ll be much better prepared thanks to your video. And D&D is one of my all-time favorite movies!
God I love the diversity of the chesapeake. Snakes in the summer stripers in the winter. cant wait to get back from school for some stripers over thanksgiving
Aim for the 3rd day of a warming spell with aid temps at least into the 50s. Found some shallow, south-facing coves preferably with dark bottom and fish from noon to sunset. That’s your best bet. Minnows are good to have, but #3 Mepps spinners and spinnerbaits are your best lure options. Good luck 👍
Awesome video Can i ask what Knot you use? Also you should add like a arrow pointer where the fish is going to bite cause sometimes its hard to see Also whats the biggest snakehead youve ever caught
Here’s a video of the knot I’ve been using most lately: th-cam.com/video/zVBKHja03No/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RUhw173irTIskzeX I also use a Palomar and Bangkok Hooker Knot: th-cam.com/video/f3tHllNT1kc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GSX8o7CsQPriT0Fi I’ll add the arrow too lol. Wish I had the arrow out there in the pad field. Would make life easier on that end too 😁
@@KambotroutFishing Thank you. That Would make it easier in the pads But Thats a problem i want 😆 Also whats your Biggest snakehead of all time youve caught
How do you deal with your line on the lilly pads? Any time I cast into something like that, I feel like my lure spends more time in the air, getting over the taller lilly pads, than actually in the water!
It’s frustrating and problematic. My best three tips are these: (1) target the pad fields during high tide. Less air between the top of the pads and the water’s surface means less line hanging up on the pads. (2) try to mend your line and aim your cast to fit your line between pads. (3) use solid braid like X5 since it helps to cut through the pads on the hookset
Good stuff as usual
The 29.5 was so FAT!
@@stumessick9963 those Potomac and upper bay snakehead tend to the THICKEST Snakehead I find. Love em

I’ve been thinking about jigging the stripers too. Tied up a rod today for em and I don’t even have a trip on the calendar 😂
Under rated as hell
💯 brother. It’s up to the next generation - and the true believers from ours 😜
Don’t stop making these
Any tips for the winter?

Are you going to try catching snakehead in November?
Yessir. Already have once. Would try this weekend but it’s my wife’s bday weekend, so I’m treading very carefully 😏
