Currently using Golf Pride Tour Velvet Midsize. Wear a medium golf glove but have gone with midsize grips just cause I feel less likely to over grip the club. They may overall be wrong but for the moment that the reason I use these grips

I use a standard grip and slice. A big brand club fitter said to use a standard grip however Ping’s online web fit recommended undersize grips! So maybe Ping was truly correct

Alex, I currently use Golf Pride Tour Wraps (like the tacky feel) in the Standard sizing. Two years ago I tried the same grip but in a midsize and after a fair evaluation, I found my hands weren't releasing like they should. I then went back to the Standard sizing but with an extra layer of tape and while the release was somewhat better, it was a struggle. So I've returned to the Standard sizing and all is well. I guess the lesson is to experiment. I'm 65 now and play to a 4.

Just switched to the Jumbomax XL ultralite grips a few months ago. They have been amazing! My hands have been much "quieter" and it has been easier to hit straight shots. The lower grip pressure has also reduced pain issues in my hands.

Grip size was integral to my club fitting after i told the fitter about the beginnings of arthritis in my right hand. The result is a standard golf pride mcc+4 so the bottom of the grip is the same width as the top. Been great thus far.

As I watch this video my clubs are being regripped from Standard to Medium to see if it will improve strike. Already put the grips in the fingers and not the palms. Fingers were touching the palms after going around the grip, meaning standard was too small. Never realized it was a problem until seeing videos on the issue. Needed to correct the 'death grip' I've been using for decades. Hope to try them out this weekend. Used the CPX2 on my woods. My irons and wedges are Align Tour Velvet.

I used standard for years, I went to the Golf Pride Midsize MCC + and they are a total game changer, I always struggled with a slice, that totally vanished, and I hit dead straight with my irons, I have a draw with my driver. just changing grip size.

Jumbomax Tour Med +5/16 on Iron and Wedges, Jumbomax UltraLite Med on Driver and Woods. As soon as I changed over all of my shots were straighter. It also forced me to learn how to turn over the club with purpose. The effect is less pronounced on irons since I already hit those decently well. On Driver however, I went from always slicing and toping the ball to hitting solid straight drives. Highly recommended.

I use golf pride multi compound black and blue with one layer of tape. I find these grips are great whatever the weather rain or dry and even if the temperature is hot they ensure that your grip doesn’t slip. I have used them for years and have them re-gripped every couple of years as I play 4/5 times a week minimum!

I am waiting for my customized Takomo 101Ts with Lamkin Crossline over-sized grips. Ordered them 3 weeks ago. I just switched my driver, 3h and 3w grips to oversized.
It was really difficult to find info and even more difficult to find a golf dealership that had all sizes available for trying. I managed to find one and I am pretty sure I made the right choice for myself. Based on one range session it sure takes some time to get used to but I noticed right away that my grip is now a lot more relaxed.

Good reminder on size of the grips. Also, change the grips! Sure do see plenty of people with glossy years old grips. Replace them more often than you think. I do mine twice. Winter for spring-summer golf, then summer replacement for hot August weather through fall golf.

I'm playing Golf Pride mid-sized tour wrap 2g grips. Although I tend to fade the ball, I'm getting older and have some arthritis in my hands. I find that the larger, softer, and tacky grips help me gain confidence in my grip so I can swing with less grip pressure which lets me square the face and makes golf less painful for me.

My glove size is Medium-Large, but I use the JumboMax UltraLite midsize which is bigger than the other grip manufacturer's jumbo grips. It didn't change my swing at all; I still hit with a slight draw. A GolfPride midsize feels like I am holding a pencil.

I use Lamkin Sonar + Black standard grips on my irons and Sonar + Black midsize on my hybrids and driver. I use PXG irons, hybrids, and drivers. I can add weight to the heads to achieve the D3 swing weight that I like. The midsize grip on the woods allows me to go after it without turning the ball over too much.

I've got a standard size lamkin grip on my driver but with 4 tape wraps, makes it closer to a midsize but with less weight than a full midsize grip. Keeps my swing weight where I want it. Hybrid, 4 iron and 5 iron I have JumboMax ultralite XS (Jumbo) grips, 6 iron to lob wedge all standard golf pride grips. I don’t have huge hands, what I’ve found from a year or so with the bigger size grips is that i’m not having to squeeze so hard to get a solid tight grip on the club, but it also didn't take long to notice how much less my hand position influences face angle with the bigger grips. I use standard size grips on 6-lob wedge because I want to be able to work those clubs with draws and fades more and have better feel around the greens with the wedges and really manipulate my hands more when i need to.

I had the feeling for the longest time that I wasn't able to properly grip my clubs which had standard size grips. Switched out my irons to the GP CPX midsize and immediately noticed a stable, better, connection and feel to the swing. However I've kept my driver, 3 wood and hybrids standard because it allows me a better release pattern and cuts my slice.

Lamkin Cross line mid size but two layers of tape half way down to reduce taper on irons down to 50, woods, 54,60 no extra tape. Want a better feel from high loft wedges and woods just feel better thinner I tend to get "handsy" with my lower hand turning over. My set up anyway.

  • @DFowlesVWID7Tourer
    @DFowlesVWID7Tourer 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Honma Xp-1 Driver has a tapered and very soft grip but I was bombing it unti I noticed that my right hand was simply not in control enough as it aged and was basically over drawing my drives. Did some research on Facetube and decided to go for the 4+ Golf Pride Mid sixe grip. Now tending to square the face better with a baby fade as a miss which is far more preferrable I just have to adjust my line off the tee now.
Another thing often overlooked is having the same grips and shafts in your wedges as you irons I am sure you can talk us through that one too Alex?
