Believe it or not, but you can actually find the soundtrack to this game on Bandcamp. The band that did most of the music in the game is a terrible garage rock band called pferd. They actually refer to themselves as "comedy" music, but I consider it "Oh my God! Why did I have to search for this shit to see if it actually existed!? I wish I was dead!" music.
Comedy music? That sounds like a bad excuse: "It's comedy, it's supposed to sound bad." Yeah right.
Mr. Futago and what's funnier is most comedy bands produce actual good music! just look at lonely island or ninja sex party.

In fairness, this game was made before Tony Hawk set the standard. They probably didn’t know it could get far better than this.

They were both published by Activision, which famously rushed tony hawk 5 out the door to make a bit more money on the license. I'm shocked this isn't even a joke lol
Pro Skater 5 is a bit meh. If you want some true classics, try the 1st and 2nd.
I must say, looking at it, skateboard physics must be quite a complex thing to pull off in a game, the way they use inertia to defy gravity briefly to achieve tricks. It must take some very clever programming.
But this is terrible, they can't even get the proportions right, look at how huge the stairs and benches are compared to your character.
Speaking of which, I've got a unfinished press copy of the original Tony Hawk's somewhere, literally unfinished, like some levels are only half complete, so you'd suddenly fall off into the abyss. 'll have to dig it out and do a video on it someday.

I think I used to own Extreme Paint Brawl. The game was impossible to play. The texture graphics and frame rate glitched up so much, it was bound to give someone a seizure.

I don't remember any of those issues when I played this as a kid. I thought the game was reasonably passable. I may not have been a smart kid.
Same here. I remember the controls being confusing but eventually got the hang of. I also remember the weird running thing, but honestly that was one of the most fun aspects of the game.
Also, I love responding to 8yr old youtube comments.

7:20 - THEBB? (Tony Hawk’s Extreme Boards and Blades)
A little late to the party on this one...I chuckled when I noticed the lanky gentleman half out of frame (and focus for that matter) is Tony Hawk. A picture of the Birdman mid varial-flip with the Activision logo plastered next to him had me at THPS before I realized this isn’t that. I feel like the very image they cut him out of is used on one of the real tony hawk pro skater box arts somewhere...that could just be how synonyms Hawk and Activision have become to me.
That ending......PRICELESS.
You NEED to start off the Boards and Blades 2 review with "O Fortuna" just to prepare the viewers for the sheer horror they will face....heh heh heh.
Oh, and the five dislikes are probably from former Head Games employees.

Man. I remember my grandma buying me this game at KB Toys when I was a child. I was so excited to visit her once a weekend because she would buy me some cheap PC video game to play on her cheap PC. This was one of the games, along with Total Annihilation. It's nice to load these games up time to time to take a trip back. I miss and love you grandma.

I unfortunately had to experience the horror of this game during christmas day... Some of my family must have been playing a prank on me. To make it worse, it was a double pack with this and Extreme paintbrawl. Christmas is forever scarred! :'(. One interesting thing to note was my version didn't have the Mountain Dew sponsorship, though it might be because mine was a UK copy?

Its not meant to be played on newer computers either. On a slower computer this game was actually pretty sick.

I can think of one redeeming feature of this game, and that is without it we would never have got this review. You are a funny guy Clint, have you ever done any stand up or script writing, as you have a real gift, some of your analogies are great.
Christmas 2000 I asked for Tony hawk's pro skater 2 and got this. Needless to say I wasn't a happy 9 year old.

I actually spent a lot of time back as a kid trying to play boards and blades 2, if I remember right it actually worked pretty well, but I wasn't able to play it how it should have been due to an under specced laptop. Would love to see a review of the second.

I don't think I've ever heard you just unleash so much hate on a game. Normally you at least give even a tiny bit of credit for something, but this. Wow. I didn't know you had it in you!
I remember buying this game and popping it into my computer. I gave up after the first 10 minutes when the controls began to piss me off. xD Terrible times the 90's were at times.
Easily one of the best reviews to date imo. Big Rigs deserves a full review as well I believe....
I want the "Practice Mode" voice and "Free ride, baby" voice from the sequel as soundbites to use as phone ringtones and for video. I could have so much from with that!

I had this game. It came free with something or there was some promotional incentive behind it. Maybe it was $5 with a Mountain Dew UPC or something along those lines. I swear there was no way I or my parents bought this game for $25.

I had this as a kid and I found B&B2 at a Goodwill today. Lol.
Not gonna lie, The Melvins with Les Claypool tweaking on meth covering Anthrax is something I am definitely interested in seeing happen.
Fun Fact: this game came out on my fifth birthday. That year I got a PS1 game called "street sk8er" (yes the 8 is suppose to be there). It was a simple skating game with some ska tunes in the soundtrack. While one could easily argue the game aged poorly, you can at least still have a little fun with it today....more so than this game, which you could never have fun with.
You have GOT to review the other game, and see if it is actually any different to this one. I strongly suspect it won't be, and that it will be the same game with different menus... (randomly copying comment across with minor tweaks because I am lazy as well! :p)

Honestly, as soon as I saw "Ska Soundtrack" on the case (Or aka "White Reggae" ) I would've bailed. But watching this video is righteously hilarious. This is like T. Hawk's Pro Skater for 12-yr olds who still wear Pull-Ups. And for showing this travesty to the world, we thank you! :)
