Outside of MK 1 and 2 (when they were new) no other machine had more HYPE than Killer Instinct. That feeling when you finally got your turn and had a huge audience, kids today really missed out on arcades.
Street Fighter II had 3 and 5 hit combos before KI. KI's combos system is almost the same as SF except KI let's you extend combos thru linkers. I love both games , it's MK I do not like.

I remember going to the arcade in the 90s and this one guy was unbeatable in this game. Crowds would gather around to watch him play and lines of people would challenge him, but no one could ever beat him. He would pull the most insane combo's.
I remember when I first saw this in Arcades when I was 10. I was so mesmerized with the graphics and couldn't wait for a console port. While the SNES version didn't stack up graphically, they still managed to accurately port the addictive gameplay.
SUPREME KI! Sabrewulf my #1 fighter. I use the narrator's saying "SABREWULF"! as my alarm. When that sound calls, it's time to rise and kick ass another day!
Ahh, Saberwolf. My personal favorite character in Killer Instinct. Simplistic commands that require almost no real indepth training to master. Saberwolf was the only character I could use and pull off "Godlike" combos. When I played against my friend we did something that was never mentioned. There are combos and combo breakers, and my friend and I discovered one hidden aspect. Counter breakers. Which occurs when u combo break a combo breaker. When performed, u can continue your combo as if the combo breaker never happened, AND future combo breakers can not be preformed for rest of that combo.
What I used to love the most were the animated vs screen and supreme victory screens. It was just so cool to me. I hated when people at the arcade would skip it
Absolutely fantastic fighting game This brings back all the memories of my time spent dumping quarters into this machine with utter joy literally standing in line to play Then destroying people with Chief Thunder. Oh how I miss my high school days MASTERPIECE👊🏽💯
The intro shows that Nintendo let this wonderful franchise slip through their fingers. Don't get me wrong, Microsoft and Iron Galaxy did a wonderful job on the new one, but Nintendo could have another good exclusive if only they have bought out Rare. -_-
Letting Microsoft buy rare without a fight was a mistake. This and banjo could have been great if they made sure that none of the new staff ruined them.
I remember playing this with my dad when I was younger, and I was dead scared of Saberwulf and Riptor. My dad is a macho man who works hard and is very masculine and mean someone I never expected to play videogames so well. My family except my mom went to an arcade me and my father played mortal combat he said he played it long time ago and forgot the secret moves. I helped him and searched up the special moves and we played together. As time passed something caught my dad's eye KILLER INSTINCT, and I watched him play as Chief Thunder against Glacius he made a combo of 8 hits! I played as Jago and only learned one move "laser blade" and it was an inconsistent move that would sometimes work and not work. As I practiced Jago my father played Fulgore and absolutely wrecked me as I practiced. I did learn and predict his annoying use of saber rush though.

idk this sabyrwolf looks simple yet cool the latest looks like any other werewolf from movies and games
This best way to see killer instinct in general
Fuck the new versions, trying to go cartoonish
Toby Slivka you are not the only one
Toby Slivka
This is the classic SabreWulf! 😎
Outside of MK 1 and 2 (when they were new) no other machine had more HYPE than Killer Instinct. That feeling when you finally got your turn and had a huge audience, kids today really missed out on arcades.
This game was waaaaay ahead of its time. This game set the standard for combo systems in fighting games like mario 64 set the standard for 3d games.
Bullshit statement
Street Fighter II had 3 and 5 hit combos before KI. KI's combos system is almost the same as SF except KI let's you extend combos thru linkers. I love both games , it's MK I do not like.
6:53 I love the way the music loops on sabrewulf's stage
Combo's stage loop is nice too
I played this game 1994 as teen in the arcades in Belgium ... (as well as Street Fighter 2&3, Mortal Kombat 1-3) Killer Instinct blew us away in the arcades. We eagerly waited for a home port on the "Ultra 64"... well at least we got KI Gold on the N64! ;)
the best fighting game in history !!! :)))
+Mario Vazquez fucking true man !
Not if you are familiar with Capcom and SNK stuff.
Everyone has their likes
so true... it was just..... SICK
so true... it was just..... SICK
Man that ultra combo is so satisfying to watch.
mortal kombat 2 and this game are the best arcade fighting games
Morgan combat 2 is the best fighting game ever till today
My 2 all time favorites
True
Awesome comment
You are missing the king of fighter 94
I remember going to the arcade in the 90s and this one guy was unbeatable in this game. Crowds would gather around to watch him play and lines of people would challenge him, but no one could ever beat him. He would pull the most insane combo's.
I remember a guy like that. He would do air ultras that blew my mind but would never tell me how to do it.
There was one in every arcade. I had a theory that the game manufacturers paid them to create hype
DJ Combo stage..."YO CHECK THIS OUT!" I always loved that.
"Available for your home in 2020, only on Nintendo Switch! Featuring Killer Instinct Gold"
Banjo-Kazooie is in Smash now. :)
I hope for remakes
@SmartBoyBR Don't forget Cuphead coming to Switch as well.
We'll pretend it wasn't a launch game for Xbox one lmfao
I remember when I first saw this in Arcades when I was 10. I was so mesmerized with the graphics and couldn't wait for a console port. While the SNES version didn't stack up graphically, they still managed to accurately port the addictive gameplay.
I always loved the opening theme song. Still holds up today.
Music his a masterpiece.
I know this one got everyone reminiscing about the good ol days but can we talk about the gameplay? This man is a beast lol
This game sends chills down my spine.
Sabrewulf been my fave since Kmart had blue light specials back in 8th grade... swear to god his stage background music is my gym theme
Wish they would have at least made a movie of this game just like they did with Mortal combat and street fighter
Animated or live action?
As a kid my fave was Sabrewulf.
As a adult I am #teamfulgore.
Killer Instinct is still awesome after all these years!!
Go raidersssssssss
What I used to love the most were the animated vs screen and supreme victory screens. It was just so cool to me.
I hated when people at the arcade would skip it
The arcade was years ahead of the SNES I still remember.
All arcade ports were back then.
Imagine how Donkey Kong Country would have looked as an arcade game.
I always used to play this grew up playing the classics blessed
Absolutely fantastic fighting game This brings back all the memories of my time spent dumping quarters into this machine with utter joy literally standing in line to play Then destroying people with Chief Thunder. Oh how I miss my high school days MASTERPIECE👊🏽💯
Brings back memories of ditching school just to play this game.
Still remember hearing this game right away when you walked in the arcade🤘👍
This game remind me lot of things. For me it still the best fighting game ever
after all of this years, i never know that there is ULTRAAAAAAAAA COMBOOOOOOOOOOO!
definitely, this game was way ahead of its time, I missed this so much
The chills from that
ULTRAAAAAAAA COMBOOOOOOOO shoutout
Lol
I totally agree! This was the best implementation of positive reinforcement I've ever encountered in video games.
Ruby Patterson probably because It sounds awesome
@@heroprime7599 because that's how you let the other person know there ass just got a beat down
Jesus christ I completely forgot about this, dam this brought me back
Killer Instinct, 1995. Best graphics and best soundtrack in whole arcade history. Period.
Omg the nostalgia. This game was so good 😢
The intro shows that Nintendo let this wonderful franchise slip through their fingers.
It's now Microsofts fault that they let great franchises go to waste.
All the top devs at Rare already left long before MS bought Rare.
Fuck exclusives. They are are anti-consumer. At least MS is bringing all games to PC (some even on Steam). The less exclusives, the better for us.
The world Lost epic games.

I just remember doing a combo breakers and my friend getting so mad. Good times
I was 20 years old when this game came out for the Super Nintendo in 1995, and I played it for 1 year straight. I loved it!
I remember killer instinct mortal kombat and street fighter
You and the rest of the word
@@user-au2296 yes
nothing compares to standing in front of a KI1cabinet
Well, this one arcade I went to had Killer Instinct 2/Gold but it was in a KI 1 cabinet, so close enough for me.
