My father's brought it home, when I was at least 10 yrs old, and I love it, the rithm it's incredible in 1969, we learn to dance the charleston, we had a lot of fun, good exercise Thanks.
My grand pawpaw roger johnston was a drummer for them👍
I started out playing Dukes of Dixieland records then I finally got to see them in New Orleans , many years ago.

This band is awesome. All the instruments played by wonderful musicians. A perfect blend. And what a joy to listen to! It's true the clarinet player is great and the drummer is outstanding!!!

Happy 90th Birthday Freddie! I will never forget the Dukes of Dixieland! What a band...PERFECTION! Just Happy Birthday Freddie! You are missed but never forgotten!
Love this so much, can never get enough of this.

DON'T BE CONFUSED...It is a fact that Frank and Freddie Assunto created and led the #1 Jazz Band in America from the early 1950's through early 1974 known as The Dukes of Dixieland. They played and recorded with all the greats of their time and also appeared on numerous TV shows from the 1950's through the 1960's. Their untimely deaths, Freddie in 1966 (36) and Frank in 1974 (42), ended the reign of the Dukes of Dixieland. Decades later, on June 15, 2000, the Estate of Frank Assunto was forced to bring legal action to prevent the unauthorized use of the Assunto Brothers' musical legacy and accomplishments by various individuals and/or entities. The facts of this case are public record in the Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans, Division "E," Case # 2000-9440.So now the fact is very straight forward, after Frank Assunto's death in 1974, no one using the Assunto legacy or the name Dukes of Dixieland has ever had any connection to the Assunto Brothers or their Dukes of Dixieland (even though in the past it had been advertised otherwise). As such, the Assunto Family regrets if anyone has been misled in any way as we have no control over the actions of others. We can only hope that after the conclusion of our legal actions which ended in October 2011, there should be no further confusion or misrepresentation of the Assunto Brothers or their Dukes of Dixieland. If by chance after October 2011 you feel you've been misled in anyway please feel free to contact the Assunto Family.God Bless and Thank You for being a fan of the Original Dukes of Dixieland and the Assunto Family.
My gratitude to you and I am assuming you are family. During my childhood years, back around 1956-58, my dad would play these records. He was then working at Clark Field in the Philippines and had access to these records in this Air Force Base.. Dukes of Dixieland brought joy and happiness to our home. The Dukes were introduced to a lot of family and friends. Listening to these now brings back a flood of memories. My dad introduced us to a lot of genre in music, from classical, western, dixieland. Thank you for this message and thank you to the Assunto family and their music.
Yes Ricardo I am Frank Assunto's son. Thanks for being a fan of the music my family. We have a FaceBook page you might enjoy. facebook.com/therealdukesofdixieland/
Plus a website too. www.thedukesofdixieland.com
They were the best and I am so glad that you fought to maintain their originality and perfection.
Buzz Herman, 10/18/2023. Thank you!!!
I am an 80 year old Trumpeter and the Dixie world I put your father as among my favorites right up with Red Nichols and Big Jen Dooley. And his singing was the essence of what this music should be.
Absolut..10 !!!
Extraordinario
Great LP. Nice that it's in stereo, that adds a lot. I've still got their 1st Audio Fidelity Stereo LP, the one with "Lassus Trombone" on it. Really cool, that tailgating trombone!
Harry Blowfish Thanks Harry, I'm glad that you liked it!. Óscar
Is it one of the 500 copies made with the train sounds on the flipside?
Danny Ray Barnes
I don't recall any train sounds. Odd that such an LP would be made.
Grazie a voi ora devo ascoltarla per il mio prof

I've just met Duke Assunto out here in the High Desert of Joshua Tree/29 Palms. I believe he's the last surviving Assunto.

Este é o PRIMEIRO DISCO VERDADEIRAMENTE ESTEREOFÔNICO GRAVADO!
Lindo de ouvir. Melhor que muito disco atual.
This kinda music they would play at astroworld theme park Houston Texas
Their father Jac on banjo.
Steve Gorman Correct,Papa Jac play on the banjo and trombone
this is not the first stereo pressing, the first was side b with railroad sound recordings, you are wrong
Ó
i did a poo :o(
Too many notes per minute. They all want to beat Nicky Lauda or Max Verstappen. "Keep Calm!" ......:-)))))
Thanks for your note, my dear friend! Óscar
O.k. a kind of New Orleans beat.But....tasteless solos en masse. Everything to fast; No dynamics which is the secret of real New Orleans Jazz. Sorry, this is Micky Mouse Jazz at it's best.
