    Thank you so much for going in depth and explaining why things have to be done. The broom prop was a nice little touch, I didn't know what I was gonna use 😅 you're a lifesaver!

    I know it's an old video that clip underneath the dash to remove the rod is a lot easier to remove by hand than it is with a tool just a small tip

    Easy to do minus the clip and bolts under the dash, that's the worst part. I'll be changing the brake booster tomorrow. Nice to see you're not one of those guys that force a wrench on those brake lines and just hammer down and round the nuts off. It's the little things!

  • @yorktown2203

    The upper right nut is seemingly impossible to even get a stubby ratchet wrench on, hands down the worst mechanical task I’ve ever tackled, seat is still in vehicle, a 2000 Bravada, stranded for just over 2 months now.

      I got it off, now I can’t get it removed from the firewall even with the master cylinder removed. UNBELIEVABLE 🤨

      You might be able to find a shot of it in the video. Also I did a part 2 that might have a clear shot of the clip. Good luck.

      Sounds like it could be a linkage issue. Make sure that the linkage isn't rubbing against something.

    I need to replace booster on my 68 mopar. Is it possible to change it without breaking lines loose on the master cyllinder? Id rather not have to if possible.

    • @TheHandsOnChannel
      @TheHandsOnChannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      IDK on your mopar but on a chevy truck it probably wouldn't work. It depends on how long the rod that goes to the pedal is. If it's short and you have the room it might work. Are your brake lines stuck?

    • @ZzzZzz-fg9hx
      @ZzzZzz-fg9hx 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Hard pedal and booster vaccuum leak is making my car run really rough at idle

      @@ZzzZzz-fg9hx Yeah I had that happen on a 67 mustang. I couldn't find a replacement booster at any of the local parts stores. Had to send it to a guy in Oregon named Booster Dewey. He rebuilt mine for a reasonable price and it looked/worked like new. Good luck.

    Why did you take brake lines loose just take the two bolts off that hold master cylinder to booster. Knick need to have to bleed brakes after repair if you leave lines alone and no hurt paint.

    • @TheHandsOnChannel
      @TheHandsOnChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In this case I was changing the master cylinder out as well, but you are correct. If you just need to change the booster you could leave the lines attached. Thanks for commenting.

      @@TheHandsOnChannel I got " let go" they found I was a union steward in my old factory. 2 They wanted me to come in an hour early(each day) to walk around the factory and listen to propaganda. 3. Told them I had my wife die, and couldn't afford going early cause I had to watch my kids to the school. And I wouldn't take there guff over that fact. I was ushered to the gate. Happier any way de kv4li
