Don't scare me I placed an order for LAYTON a few days ago you said it has that smell of VICKS. I'll give it a try if I get that smell I'll return it. I'm a fan PDM. it just depends man. at first my bottle smelled like that 100%. but now i get the apple, lavender, spices, and vanilla all wrapped into one perfectly orchestrated bit to the nose. almost too good of a scent lol. i’m excited to pick up carlisle and herod one day. also starting to enjoy Nisean. the awesome thing about PDM frags is at first they might smell meh or just odd, but the more time passes and the more ur nose adjusts, the more gorgeous the scents become to your nose
The „Vicks smell“ always tends to be more noticeable in a fresh bottle, however few months in the fragrance starts to macerate more and more… additionally Layton was reformulated sometime during 2021 and the medicinal kind of opening is way less prominent now in the new formulation, if you bought layton recently it‘s most likely the new one (82% volume version and not the old 78%, it‘s written on the box and bottle, you can check)…
damn.... so many fragrance people on youtube, and here a guy with 67 subs gives the best description of Carlisle :D nailed it on the head, shisha smell not my cup of tea, but yea, thats the smell

Carlisle all the way I got noir extreme and it’s def different especially with the Opoponax that Carlisle has I have this stuff linger on my clothes for a week straight, BUY CARLISLE 🙂
Layton exclusif can be a bit polarizing cause of the Oud, but it can also be pleasant during the colder month For me it would be 1. Carlisle 2. Layton 3. Exclusif

They smell great but they don't last bc of reformulation!! 2-3 hours max.
I don't get the appeal of Layton. It smells like Vick's Vapor Rub to me in the opening and in the drydown. Great content btw!
