@@WordofAdviceTV I have some questions. I tried to be smart about this and label before taking apart but I'm stuck. I need a new blower motor I purchased a whole unit with the duct. I just have heat and fan. No ac. There are four spots on the Transformer I just need to make sure where they go. And which wires from the door switch go where the 2 blacks. And I also have a blue and a red wire and a yellow wire that I need to do something with because this duck doesn't have a flame sensor inside like my old one w the yellow wire so where do I connect that? And need to make sure I'm doing stuff right

I am an 18 year old service tech. Been working in the field for almost 7 months and yesterday I came across a problem where I didn't know what to do, and watching this video now I realize I might've ordered the wrong part 😁. Thank you for the very detailed explanation of the diagram. Will help me out a lot in the future.

MY name is Gabe and 6 years ago i made a career change from installing Directv to AC Installer in Palm Springs California. Installing ac in the desert is hands down the hardest job I've ever had seen that furnace coils are in the attic so to change one out takes a good 6 hours at about 130 degrees. It isn't for everybody Ive recently switched from install to service and i have learned more from you and your videos than i did at the technical school i went to. You make it very easy for me to understand and I'm really impressed with how knowledgeable you are at such a young age. Good job dude and keep up the good work. You probably helping people more than you know.

Yes, you did a great job to create this precious lesson for everyone.
Would like to share with your audiences. (free free to edit as needed.)
I resolved my Furnace problem without changing a part but fix an open in the 6-wire thermal state cable. Without your lesson, I would have no idea how to track and judge where is the problem but changing parts.
It's an 93' Comfortmaker gas pack. Problem starting 3 yrs ago, getting worse until this winter it finally wont ignite at all, March-2023.
At beginning, symptom happened only in very cold weather, around 30-35 F. It resumed functioning after I cut breaker off for 5 - 10 minutes, and it would last the whole winter.
It got worse year after year, more frequently, yet trouble happened in the same temp range.
I checked and suspected all Limit switches, CS-IM, and even transformer.
Ordered those parts to "give it a try". While waiting the delivery, I watched your video and it opened up my brain with accurate knowledge.
I started all over previous checking steps, and identified "the thermal state signal was not present at control Bd terminal." I removed thermal state from wall and connected close to gas pack side, finally, narrowed down to the point -"white line" was open.
Issue fixed and I can enjoy a warm sleep for the weather supposed to be cold again around 28.
    Thank you

@Straightoutofchiraq I've been under the mentorship of a few of those before too so I think I know what you mean.. But those older guys really do have a lot of knowledge. Perhaps not much about the high end new stuff but years and years of experience does make a difference. I've learned some really cool stuff from really grumpy about-to-retire techs. As long as I shut up and was respectful, most of the time they were willing to impart some wisdom upon me. 😄

Love the pictures you used to follow along (real world examples) and the color code helps too of course when using the blueprint drawing to detail circuit logic and current travel paths. Helped me a lot and was a review for me, will be checking out the other topics listed in the description thanks.

Ben, I'm a subscriber and have watched so many of your outstanding TH-cam videos (as well as others) and have to comment today that you are the KING of HVAC troubleshooting.
First of all, your videos are produced with viewers in mind rather than self-promoting for profit or acting like a celebrity. You’re a knowledgeable instructor and articulate with a calm voice that’s professional and confident (not a bunch of ums etc.). The exemplary content indicates the time and effort that put forward in rehearsing, preparation and editing of your videos. There’s no excessive “blah, blah, blah,” background noise, distractions, or crazy music. Your videos are interesting, auditorily crisp, visually appearing and focus on the title’s objectives with a balance between repetitive info & assuming viewers’ prior knowledge. You accomplish this by referencing related content videos available for viewers to consider. You present simple and clear simulations, actual components, real-life situations and include graphics and text highlighting important info, safety issues, key points, confusing content and alternative methods for troubleshooting.
For all this, I thank you for helping HVAC professionals as well as the DIYers like myself.

Yeah.. Those connections are close to each other and I was using thick markers which doesn't help.. I was indeed wrong, the two wires from the limit switch actually go to 11 and 6. I just looked at the paper version of it right now. What looked like a 5 to me was actually a 6 and the 5 is next to it. Thank you for catching the error!

Thank you for your video. My air-handler does not have control board, but it is an old ac system. However, it is good to learn some stuffs from this video.

There should be relay for ignitor ;I believe this diagram has missed that relay.
Anyway ;you teach the best 👏👏👏

Great video. Can you have a video in the future to explain how a two-stage furnace works? During the first stage which usually last about 15 minutes, what is the gas pressure going to the furnace. Once 15 minutes has elapsed and the temperature in the house is NOT at the desired temperature, the second stage starts. Does the gas pressure go down or what happens? Thanks

Just what I was looking for, I have never worked on a furnace but I now have a job to replace three Baltur furnaces in a high rise building. So at least I know how they work now. The italian schematic for the new furnaces is a bit confusing to say the least but thanks to Jay I am slowly getting my head around it. Main problem is that there are other control panels from around 1970 on the old furnaces and of course there are no wiring diagrams that exist for them so I am really struggling to figure out what is going on there. If any one has any suggestions would like to hear from them. I only have two days to get these installed!

Hey Jay, first of all I got to tell you that your thorough in your expansions and it’s helped me a lot in hvac in the Saskatoon , Saskatchewan, Canada ! Just wondering if you have any videos explaining from beginning to end with your multimeter (voltmeter) of your typical troubleshoot , what you would always check ? Like a good thorough check over/troubleshoot I guess I’m trying to say , so I can have absolute good fundamentals on each and every service call , as I’m just starting to get into it for the last few months , again thanks a lot for the information Jay , been very informative!

Glad to hear the videos have been helpful. Thank you for the video suggestion! I don't think I have a video like that... In fact I cut out a portion of this video where I started talking about troubleshooting with a meter.. I thought it would be a little confusing because I did not have a furnace on hand that I could use as a demonstration. Maybe after I buy a house here in Hawaii I can by a furnace just for video purposes. The winters here aren't very cold.

@@WordofAdviceTV hey buddy , thanks for the reply ! Hope hawaii is treating you ok , less no heat call I take it lol . But I’ll look out for your furnace troubleshooting video for new techs , I think that would be totally awesome , just like the rest of your awesome videos ! Again , very informative and don’t stop doing what your doing becuz it’s really great hvac content . Thank you from up here in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada ! If you ever want to come hunt big whitetail bucks , give me a call and come give it a try Jay, very fun !

I have a question. On a two stage system for either an AC or furnace...would disconnecting the low voltage on the first stage stop the furnace/AC operation even in second stage? For example...
2 stage AC, running in second stage, if Y1 is disconnected (opened), but Y2 was left alone would the AC keep running or shut down?
2 stage furnace, running in second stage, if W1 is disconnected (opened), but W2 was left alone would the furnace keep running or shut down?
