My mother actually has dementia and I'm actually kind of offended that they would so casually throw around a diagnosis of such a horrible disease. I would not wish it on anyone.

Best of luck to you and your mother. My grandmother had dementia and her final days in the hospital were nightmarish for the family, even worse so for her I imagine. And it was a long, sad decline before then.

Ambien was prescribed for me to try it for a couple weeks. I woke up during the night thinking, “I thought I was asleep.”
It made me get up and cook during the night. The only way I knew was finding dirty dishes in the morning. Checkup told doctor I wasn’t taking anymore. When I told her about cooking she laughed. Laughed! I lived in a hundred year old tenement building with a gas stove. It put me and my neighbors in danger.
