I hope you enjoy the first sneak peak at the new place; I know it might take a bit of getting used to, but fear not...I'll still be shooting videos on the road as usual and I'll still be filming at my home studio. This place just allows me the freedom to do some more ambitious stuff, and in the long run should help me deliver bigger and better videos. I love what I do, so it's important to me to invest what I can in developing the channel as much as I'm able to. Next time I'm here I'll be cooking up a storm, but for now I just wanted to break it in with something fun. The lighting and sound might take a bit of tweaking, so be sure to drop any feedback in the comments below. New studio is awesome, love the sign. I was curious so I looked it up, sushi refers to the rice(typically vinegar rice) and can be made with many ingredients even though most associate it with raw fish. Sashimi is always raw and served without rice...the more you know!

Just discovered your channel last week and have found myself addicted to the content, which is weird as I'm not a massive eater and am a vegetarian so have no interest in actually eating 99% of what you devour. I put it down to the fact that you're incredibly likeable (as is Mrs Beard), the editing of your videos is excellent, and that I live in York and enjoy watching a fellow Yorkshireman doing so well on such a fickle platform. I love sushi. This looks like a challenge I would attempt, but wouldn't feel bad for having to pay for the meal, so long as I get a to-go-bag if I lose. I definitely wouldn't want to leave any of it behind.
Loving the new place, have a look at tubular heaters down at screwfix. Pretty decent heating, can be inconspicuous enough, and cheap to run. Gonna need something on those walls/ceiling though, canvas prints are a good shout if you don’t want the sound treatment look on the walls.
From the 'States': My wife and I watch your vids on a regular basis and watch in amazement , dumbfounded and laughing all along the way . But, on to the crux of the post....., a big Kudos to Mrs. Beard from ourselves. That girl's got a great sense of humor! It's fun listening to her giggle and wisecrack off cam. We've been together for 47yrs. and married for 45 and we see a bright future for you two (chuckle).

OK, I've been watching loads of Beards videos lately (great channel BTW, and I don't usually enjoy watching competitive eaters 🙂) but this is the first time it looks almost doable even for me - I used to eat so much sushi at an all you can eat restaurant near here (the conveyor belt kind) that the waiters actually frowned when they saw me coming 😄
That sauce is Sushi sauce/Eel Sauce/ Unagi Sauce, 3 different common names for the same thing. You can find it at all Asian grocery markets and some walmarts/kroger not all. Its god tier sauce.

Cucumber in sushi is main ingredient in Japan, everyone in my family love how light cucumber tastes as matter of a fact we had sushi earlier and I had many California rolls,hmmmm it was yummy. Another my family’s fave is unagi sushi it’s a grilled eel

You're likely not far off with that orange sauce. It's not likely to be chipotle mayo, but it probably is sriracha mayo. The brown sauce is I'm guessing "Bulldog" sauce aka Tonkatsu sauce aka okonomiyaki sauce. Popular in Japan, they put it on just about everything, And one last edit: Sushi refers to the rice. P.S. if you want to have some fun, find a Korean place that sells Kimbap aka Gimbap. It's like sushi rolls, but with noodles and beef and omelet and all sorts of other fun stuff.
Hi, loving the new place. You should get a timer on the wall behind you next to the BMF sign and set up some sort of start/stop button on the side of the table for ease of setting it off and stopping it. Also I hope the new studio has good toilets!!

I believe it basically translates to "Vinegared Rice" Most People, including Mrs. Beard automatically associate the term Sushi with Fish, more specifically Raw Fish. Sushi can have basically anything in or on it, Cooked or Raw, as long as it has the Sushi Rice. Sashimi is just slices of Raw Fish or other Seafood, which can also be served with the Sushi Rice, or on its own.

Loving the new studio. Have you considered the ocassonal shot from an overhead camera? Sometimes the perspective from the food-level cameras dilutes the monstrous size of what you're eating 👍

Odd thing about Sushi... even though I couldn’t eat that volume, I could eat till I felt like an engorged tick and would be hungry an hour or two later.
Sushi is mainly fish with rice. It was adapted to have other things for other countries. If you ever get to come over here to Japan I’ll take you to a place that serves basic sushi (the rotating counters) and one that makes them as you order.
New studio looks great! Just needs some sound foam for that little bit of echo, also maybe move the camera up just a bit? Feels like we're looking up to you compared to the camera angles from before

Lovely place, the sushi looks awesome. Mrs. Beard, the rice is stickly which is how it stays together. A bamboo mat/form is used to shape the roll.

Nahh, sushi doesn't need wasabi. Sometimes I put some into my soy sauce but it's absolutely unnecessary.

Its most likely oyster sauce or eel sauce. It's a common sauce to add to sushi. The orangey sauce is Sriracha mayo.
