If you are someone who is interested in or studying urban planning like me, I bet you have heard off Robert Moses and how highways built under his lead in and around New York City has cut through neighborhoods, displaced homes, and disconnect communities. While some of his plans like the Cross Bronx Expressway, Brooklyn-Queens Expressway was successfully built, there are many of his plans that remained on the drawing board and never became reality. One of those plans is the Lower Manhattan Expressway, a controversial highway project that would had run through Lower Manhattan connecting the bridges and tunnels of the Hudson and East River. In today’s video, we will find out the story behind this controversial highway.

The 8 Thrid Ave Elevated line had to be demolisheig aswell.
They could definitely have the old Putnam railroad on the Hudson lines and rebuilt the train stations.
The Putnam railroad new York central definitely needs to come back right along side the Putnam trailer vancortlant park putmam trailers starts and just lay down the tracks. That was very sad that they had ripped up the Putnam railroad tracks instead of leaving just like maybrook Connecticut has rails and trails. I understand that they are gonna dig under ground on Bailey Ave and tibbets brook and laying down pipes and sewers to clean up the old tibbets brook waters and make it fresh water.
The 8 Thrid Ave Elevated line was definitely demolisheig aswell for no reason. There was nothing wrong with the 8 Thrid Ave Elevated line.

The translation again! 😂😂😂😂😂
I propose turning the Henry Hudson Parkway & Saw Mill River Parkway right-of-way into a Metro-North Railroad line called the Hutchinson Line. The new Henry Hudson Parkway will be underground & so will be a bunch of other connecting highways.
The Hutchinson Line should run via 5th Avenue (Manhattan), 49th Street, Old Henry Hudson Parkway’s right-of-way, Old Saw Mill River Parkway right-of-way, Harlem Line, Beacon Line, Maybrook Line, & an elevated viaduct over Interstate 84 from the new World Trade Center Transit Hub to Hartford Central Station.
These should be the stations:
🚉 Hartford Central Station
🚉 West Hartford
🚉 New Britain
🚉 Plainville
🚉 Southington
🚉 Waterbury
🚉 Middlebury
🚉 Southbury
🚉 Sandy Hook
🚉 Danbury
🚉 Mill Plain
🚉 State Line
🚉 Brewster
🚉 Croton Falls
🚉 Purdy’s
🚉 Goldens Bridge
🚉 Katonah
🚉 Bedford Hills
🚉 Mount Kisco
🚉 Chappaqua
🚉 Pleasantville
🚉 Hawthorne
🚉 Elmsford
🚉 Woodlands
🚉 Chauncey
🚉 Homefield
🚉 Nepperhan
🚉 Lincoln Park
🚉 Riverdale
🚉Spuyten Duyvil
🚉 Inwood
🚉 Hudson Heights
🚉 Washington Heights
🚉 Hamilton Heights
🚉 Morningside Heights
🚉 Boat Basin
🚉 Grand Central
🚉 Gramercy
🚉 Union Square
🚉 SoHo
🚉 World Trade Center
making highway underground? that would be costly!
@@Urban_Man In the long run, it’s worth it.
can't we just replace the road with the railroad, and not keeping it?
@@Urban_Man I prefer to replace some elevated Highways with underground ones. They will move the noise underground, while the railroads will replace them.
You know Robert mosses hated the extra elevated lines?. Probably the Putnam railroad New York city new York central system. All sawell .
