@@AndersonTenecela actually goombas take inspiration on the young shiitake mushrooms, which are less poisonous than older ones. You know, the ones that Super Mushroom takes inspiration from. But also since their japanese name it's "Kuribo" (which refers to mythological creatures that are literally chestnut kids) maybe they taste like chestnut.
I dunno about outselling the original Super Mario on the NES, but it definitely is to modern Mario what Super Mario Bros World was to Super Mario Bros 1
