  • In this episode, we take a look at two blades from the Freud corporation. We are looking at the Diablo steel demon carbide tipped blades. The steel demon carbide tipped blades are designed for cutting hard the thick metal. Diablo has an amped version of the blade, which is position to be a higher performing longer lasting blade. Are they really the best on the market? That's what we're here to find out. How do they compared to the Milwaukee torch blades and torch nitrus carbide blade which one's really are the best?
    DS0608CF STEEL DEMON
DIABLO's Steel Demon Carbide-tipped reciprocating blades are the first carbide-tipped blades designed for extreme metal cutting, including high strength alloys, cast iron and stainless steel. This high performance carbide-tipped blade delivers unmatched 50X longer cutting life than standard bi-metal blades in extreme, thick metal cutting applications between 3/16 in. to 1/2 in. The blade's increased body height produces straighter cuts with less vibration.
High performance carbide for greater durability and cutting performance in thick metal
Enhanced carbide tip to blade connection for extreme impact resistance
1 in. oversized blade body for straighter cuts with less vibration
Perma-shield non-stick coating for less heat and friction
Ideal for cutting stainless steel, cast iron and other high strength alloys
    DS0608CFA STEEL DEMON AMPED
DIABLO's new range of Steel Demon AMPED reciprocating saw blades are AMPing Up thick metal cutting with the introduction of the industry's first ever industrial grade coating, Black Industrial Cooling Element (I.C.E.). The ultra-slick Black I.C.E. provides the coolest and cleanest cutting edge and an ultra-superior chip evacuation. High performance carbide delivers an unmatched up to 50X longer cutting life in metal cutting applications ranging in thickness from 3/16 in. to 9/16 in. The combination of Black I.C.E. and DIABLO's carbide delivers extended life and an impressive up to 2X increased performance versus standard metal cutting carbide reciprocating saw blades.
DIABLO made TiCo hi-density carbide delivers the greatest durability and cutting performance in thick metal applications
Black I.C.E. coating protects carbide cutting edge by creating a slick, lubricant like action for a cool cutting edge and superior chip evacuation
Enhanced carbide tip to blade connection for extreme impact resistance
1 in. oversized blade body provides stability and rigidity for straighter cuts with less vibration
Ideal for cutting stainless steel, cast iron and other high strength alloys
Perma-SHIELD resists heat build-up by protecting the blade against gumming and corrosion

Thanks for the comparison test. I’ve used both of the leaders and glad to finally improvements like this. Wish I had blades like these 40 years ago.

Thanks for these tests. I appreciate you putting the summary slide. I’m glad you test the major players. Please. Inside the craftsman ones to. I expect them to be same as dewalt.

Interesting. I think Concord Carpenter on TH-cam tested Milwaukee Nitrus Carbode vs Diablo Amped for thick metal and found the opposite - that the Milwaukee wore out faster and slowed down over the trials and that the Diablo slowed down more minimally. I wonder why you guys got different results.

Awesome and thorough testing! Would love to see how the General Purpose Diablo Amped carbide 6/9 tpi blade compares to these as well!

Another great comparison! I would love to see a speed and durability test between the pruning blades, next! It'll take a lot of wood! 😂

My bad I guess Milwaukee makes the torch blade but I’ve had a good experience with the torch blade

Is the amped Diablo blade better than the torch Diablo blades

On hard metal it appears the torch nitrus blade is a bit “faster” than the Diablo amp’d blade. Better, depends on what you want, but yes.
