AH! You guys were in Monterey and grabbed Noodle Bar! My husband & I eat there 3-4 times a month, and laughed because you guys grabbed the same thing we always order & split! You two are so entertaining! Not to sound like an ad but for a great instant replacement of Viet coffee without the filter, I recommend Copper Cow Vietnamese coffe with their condensed milk and cream packs!

We are impressed that you guys (well especially Fin) try hard to pronounce words authentically so tossing this quick note out there for you: hoisin is pronounced with a hard “s” (like sin city), instead of a “z” sound. But a perfect pronunciation would be hoy-seen. (There’s no wrong way to enjoy ultra affordable Asian food! Yum.)
If you guys ever decide to visit SoCal, specifically near the Little Saigon area, one of the best Pho place down here is called Phoholic. You get a couple more different herbs you normally don't see at other pho restaurants and they have the most flavorful broth I've ever tasted.

Oh I love that Asian market in Marina I've been there several times. At the right time they have rice seaweed rolls dirt cheap.

We've been to SF just recently and we love it there.

We have a dine in/Take out place in my town that sells all these things and the Vietnamese Coffee is amazing, but they make it with Sweetened Condensed milk so it's really really sweet!! Love Pho!! Love the chicken rolls!

Tim was talking about Koala Yummies!! You could get them in regular American grocery stores for quite a while in the 90s I think? But yeah, those that you found in the Asian market are almost exactly the same. I get those at my local Asian grocery store all the time. So good!

Love the blind ramen taste test, especially the part where the noodles don't make it back into the containers🤣 Feels kind of like home as Hawaii has a ton of asian and euroasian foods and restaurants. Yum!!
We recently lived in Seoul for 2 years and loved this video! I didn't see anyone else comment, but the rice wine is called makgeolli (it's milky-like) and is different than soju (more like sake). Soju is usually paired with (or in!) beer...and sneaks up on you. ;)
That's what we had wrong. We were looking for Soju though! We loved the drinking culture there- have some nice tall beers with soju playing backup the whole time. Made all the dinners that much more memorable.
The food make me feel so hungry 😋👍.

Hey, nothing wrong with instant pho when you have a craving. :) I used to buy it all the time and add rotisserie chicken and all the fresh herbs and veggies. I think having those items makes it quite good when you need a pho fix. If you've never had it, you should order the roast duck spring rolls (especially the ones with the crunchy fried rolled wonton skin or whatever inside). And finally, I'd have ordered bun thit nuong or cam tam for eating in the car. :)

Fin though we don’t have many Vietnamese Restaurants near us here in FL, our Publix Grocery sells the rice paper and rice noodles. If you buy an oriental dressing and mix in a tsp of peanut butter, it’s very close to restaurant dipping sauce. Just in case you get desperate. 😛
This was too on point to not respond to- Fin absolutely is always trying to make Vietnamese food at home buts its never quiet the same. I promise you we have a pile of rice noodles and rice paper in our pantry just waiting for us though!
Haven't been able to watch in a few days. Catching up now. To bad I didn't know you were coming to the bay area. I live in the East bay, Walnut Creek. I would have liked to meet you and maybe you could have come for dinner. I would have made you a good special Puerto Rican dinner.
lol, that last soup liked to have killed me. I have a cool little asian market here in Houston that we shop at some times. I used the whole spice packet and could barely finish the soup. SO HOT!!!!

Also, I will recommend one unique place in Bali, called " Trunyan".Trunyan is small village in Bali, with beautiful panorama (surrounded by mountains and lake) and also notable for its peculiar treatment of dead bodies, in which they are placed on openly on the ground, simply covered with cloth and bamboo canopies, and left to decompose. The influence of a nearby tree is said to remove the putrid smell of the corpses.

Best authentic pho restaurants are in Orange County CA (largest Vietnamese population in US) AND paired with sugar cane, kumquat, coconut drink!

I'm from Hawaii and I grew up calling those small sweet bananas "apple bananas." I'm not sure why, but I grew up thinking those were normal bananas and did not like stateside bananas when I first tried them since they weren't as sweet and the texture was different.
Best vietnamese places are in westminster SoCal. I watched your vid and it seems you like Vietnamese cuisine. :)

and this is my apology because i thought Tim did not buy VIetnamese coffee but when i was already watched the whole video i realized that you guys did, eventhough Fin didn't like that kind of coffee. Moreover, i laughed so hard when Tim tried those noodles.

in 8:02 seconds Tim picked Viet Nam Ca Phe Sua Da up but he didn't buy it, i was a little sad, in 10:11 seconds i saw he brought cup contain a kind of coffee i thought that was a cup of VIetNamese coffee, that was a good thing to do man. in my opion 2.99 $ is little expensive meanwhile, it is just 25.000 VND, if you want to drink vietnamese coffee you should come to Vietnam and get it, the cost wil be better than SAN FRACISCO

I Live in West Marin but have a little apartment two blocks down from the Mark Hopkins where you stayed. There is a Korean place really close where iI had my first "Soon Kook Dang"! I was looking for Cloudy cold Sake and thats what they gave me!! It was late and i was a little buzzed sooooo......I felt like its a cross between Mexican/Cane sugar Sprite and Nigori Sake! In that jankie ass plastic screw top bottle! Ive had more since then for some strange reason....... guessing your going down to Carmel, Big Sur and south.
