Chris, I’ve had a lonely day today but I turn onto your blog and a bad day becomes a very good day. I laughed your review on the electric truck you’re right really stick to the petrol and diesel. We know where we are with that we are not gonna run out, thanks again for making my day my evening
@@Professional-struggler Mate it’s not true about more electrics you use the less miles you get, A electric vehicle still has a 12v system with alternator etc, it’s 2 separate electric systems, one for the drive motor (larger batteries) and then your standard 12volt system for everything else except the electric motor
The noise is a simulation for pedestrians. It goes away once your up to speed. It also has regenerative braking. It's like a retarder but puts energy back into the battery when you slow down. The traction battery is around 400V and is connected to an invertor that converts it from DC voltage to AC voltage for the motor. The 12V system is separate from the traction battery and kept topped up by a charge controller. Technically, the interior lights or radio etc won't drain the traction battery.

A friend of mine had an electric nissan van on a 3 year lease.....Thats time he'll never get back, it made him thoroughly miserable for 3 years especially in winter when he couldn't use the heater. He promptly went back to diesel 😂
Worked for Volvo and they are going pretty much fully electric. Maintenance wise they are a piece of piss, if you have the correct equipment. Biggest complaint we had from owners was range. The ads and salesman tell them one thing and real life proves something different. Then it was us techs that were getting it in the neck when they were saying the car was faulty. A lot of that noise can also be a noise generator, by law they have to have a pedestrian warning system.
Well done Chris another brilliant video nothing like being honest I think battery cars & other vehicles are not going to sell has people think we haven’t got no where near the infrastructure to cop well done Chris.🤔
If your about the north Grantham / Newark / Gonerby Moor area this week / next week, keep an eye out for an EV Renault Truck with a fridge body on a demo. EV or alternative fuels is on its way. Power must be isolated from the battery and motor as the motor would create electric if turned.

These come into Royal Portbury dock, Bristol mate. There’s loads of them waiting to be sold and I get the impression they aren’t moving too well. I’m glad you’ve had a look under the rear. What a joke… when these first arrived I did the same and took some photos because I couldn’t believe the lack of quality in the workmanship, it looks like it’s just been thrown together! Did you notice they spun the original axle 180 to get the motor in and how it hangs so low and anything more than a simple farm track and that’s getting smashed off. You can’t tow more than 1500kgs and the load is 1000kgs but you can’t do both at the same time! 😂 All for 50k. 🤡🌍🤡🌍.
