I think this is one of the best Greek mythology movies I've ever seen. They have adapted Homero's work very well and have done it with respect and love to the Odyssey. I also want to mention that Isabella Rossellini have played the role of Athena very well because her gestures and her look could it be typical of the goddess of wisdom❤❤
I am an English literature teacher and I always show this movie to my students to let them appreciate the beauty of Greek literature especially the two great epics of Homer. It is such a work of art and I truly admire the maker and the actors of this film. It is very entertaining as well as very educational.

The most touching part of the film for me, is when Odysseus convinces his son Telemachus that he was his father indeed despite his sons' feelingas that his father was dead as he had sailed searching for him and had brought news his father was not alive. How deep were Odisseus words that could soothen his son's heart and share a strong hug after twenty years.

Abuse of pigs and animals is not a noble undertaking for a silly movie. Clearly the pig is under stress. I'm surprised that animal rights organizations weren't involved to stop this abusive situation.

This movie is soo underrated. One of the best and biggest movies of the late 90s
It's a long film. The producers rewarded the viewers for watching much time with the slaughter scene at the end.
And that's saying something. The 90s was the best decade for movies (and most things in general)
