- The launch of Persona 3 Reload proved that Persona is more popular than ever. With news that a forgotten Persona game is getting a rerelease, along with BIG Persona remakes that are on the way, we've got years of Persona content coming at us pretty consistently, especially considering the next mainline Persona game, Persona 6, is heavily speculated to be releasing in 2025 or 2026. Which Persona game(s) are you most excited for?
Persona 1 and 2 remakes would be absolutely amazing if they were genuinely to happen. I feel like its hard to get hold of English copies for those games and don't get much recognition compared to ones like P5 and P4

I think that wouldn't work, it would be too ambitious with a high chance of them not recovering the costs, P1 and P2 work in a different formula, changing it to the recent ones is not that simple, also, I don't think they having the calendar system and SL is really necessary, they could just make more interactions between the team, and change the battle system/encounter a little
I have some serious doubts about P1 and P2 only being ‘remasters’. Midori saying that they won’t be in the “same style” as Reload does not mean that they won’t be remade. Keep in mind in the exact same message, she mentions an SMT PS2 game getting a ‘remaster’, while referring to P1 and P2 as ‘remakes’. If they were only getting remasters, why not say that? As far as the other leaker, he mentions consoles, tells us exactly what the game is going to be, and I believe he even provided a name for the rerelease. This actually seems to contradict Midori, who implies that these games are all in extremely early development stages. That being said, I doubt they would have things like the marketing strategy planned out yet, like the second leaker indicates. Personally, I’m suspecting the ‘different style’ might suggest that P1 and 2 will get HD2D remakes, especially given that the original games were largely 2D to start with. I imagine that would also make them cheaper to produce, which makes sense given how those older games, while great experiences, aren’t really guaranteed to rake in money.
It's good to see someone else point out that Midori knows the difference between a remaster and a remake, and that Head on the Block is telling us /WAAYYYY/ too much info about games that aren't even in active development yet.
P4 definitely doesn’t need a remake for a long while.
I just want both P2s released worldwide with all content (including Innocent Sin’s DLC quests) and minor QOL adjustments.
And hell yeah, I’d love Aegis to be released worldwide!

IDK, some of those are definitely too long, but if we are sticking with the Re format, then I'd think a TV Broadcast term would make the most sense, but Reshuffle(d) does sound nice as well.

I believe “Persona 4 Rerun” will fit so well since the whole game is about the tv world and tv aesthetic. And the remake would basically be a “Rerun” of the game! :)
@@SkittleWave i think that would work, i personally went with reshuffle because p3 is reload and the persona summons are gunshots and its reloading the shot, where as this time it would be cards thus reshuffling the deck

Speaking of early persona, while I would like p1 to adjust the story to let you recruit all party members besides the first 5 you recruit including the protag, I want a sub persona system like the q games and tactica, to evolve the main personas can be unlocked the same way you'd unlock the fusions originally. My idea is the main persona would follow the modern level formula, learning skills at set levels, and the sub personas can use the old rank/mutation formulas.
Persona 4 definitely needs a remake just to make the dungeons better. As they are now, the dungeons are little more than hallway mazes with no personality. Atlus could redesign them to have a similar design philosophy as Persona 5 Palaces.
And we said the same thing about P3re and yet it's the exact same as P3. It's more plausible for P4 but still unlikely
just turn the characters into a normal sized human and its already a 100/10 game. 😐

That would be cool, but given what they did with Tartarus I'm not sure they'd put in that kind of effort.
Just beat P4 a few days ago and I really enjoyed it. Would love to see a remake of it just to at least improve the combat of the game, and hopefully (although unlikely) the dungeons.

Honestly because they are so different Persona 1 and 2) from the modern Persona games Remakes with enhanced graphics and maybe a little bit of a polished combat system would be enough tbh
Agreed. I don't think tearing the game apart to accommodate the newer social sim elements of Persona would be a good move

I feel like I’m the ONLY persona fan that believes P4 needs a remake BADLY. You have to admit that graphics are sort of important, and it’s also amazing to have. The dungeon system can be updated, they could add those special moves to our characters etc etc.
I'm currently wrapping up my 1st P4G playthrough, and I agree and disagree with this. It feels like it needs one as I play, but it doesn't feel like it needs one urgently. Graphics wise, it really isn't that rough considering it was from 2008. I would like some tweaks to story, like Kanji (his shadow is really rough playing it in 2024 and they do him kinda dirty) and tweaks to make it more satisfying to figure out the true killer rather it then being a pick from the list who it "best" fits.
My opinion on a Persona 4 remake is the same with a resident evil 5 remake, we don't really need it but it would be cool especially with what we've seen with the previous remakes from those series (RE4/P3R)
I believe the combat system could use an upgrade, but generally speaking it has aged very well.

I tried playing Persona 1 but just could not, it would be fantastic if it got a remaster that changed the dungeons to third person without random encounters

Personally I want a remake they are old games and personally I feel like they deserve it. A revamp of the battle system and ALL the music be included or remixed instead of the cut music was got for P1 psp. Also a better to navigate map and if they must put random battle, not have it being that high.
I don't want social links but I'd be happy if they added more character interactions maybe intergrate interactions from the manga or Drama CDs and make them more canon.
But whatever they do. Remake Remaster whatever. There is one thing I want. *ADD REACTION PORTRAIT TO PERSONA 1* . I swear P1 portrait are so stiff because it's always the same one.
If they do remakes based on the manga ,They can swipe my credit card for Danm near a month for all I care. It would really be worth it in my opinion to see Naoya get some respect for actually having to go through something instead of everyone just being … oh the generic MC boy with an earring. 😢😡
the idea of getting the p2 duology remade or even just a port makes me happy, Innocent Sin is decent but Eternal Punishment is really damn good and definitely one of the best persona games, so even the idea of a port makes me happy.
I hope we get something Persona Q related at some point.
I haven't played either yet, but I definitely would if the re-released on the Switch(hopefully other platforms as well, but at least Switch).
Although I doubt we'd see it until some time after P6 when a Q3 would make more sense.
That's a great point. I'd love to see Q come back. A rerelease of Q1 and 2 would be nice to see on modern platforms

I wonder how a Persona 1 or Persona 2 Remake would be done, considering how different they are from the newer games, when the current series conventions and staples were not fully established yet
How would they reconcile what the series once was like vs what is has become these days
Edit: I really want a Persona 2 release, just because it has a certain Austrian square mustache dictator from the 1930s as a boss fight in the game (and wearing sunglasses) which feels so absurd and edgy.

This is going to sound lame, but I wish the "dating" relationships were a bit more... I dunno, detailed or in depth?
It's annoying that you get to rank 10, get a little "yay I love you" scene and cap it off with a hug. Uh, they're in high school, not elementary. These are M-rated games, they can at least give you a little kiss 😂
And it's not just that, it'd be nice if there was some kind of acknowledgement from whoever you romanced or your friends in conversation after hitting rank 10. ANYTHING at all. I'm not asking for Baldur's Gate levels of dialogue, but something better than completely ignoring everything that lead up to that & going back to treating you like a regular friend.
It's always jolting & feels unfulfilling. I don't even pay attention to dating in games, but it feels like it should be a bit more meaningful in Persona.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Persona 4 Golden remaster, just give it the Persona 5 Royal trophy list and I'll be happy as a clamperl. Persona 4 Golden was awesome. ;)

Hey, I want to ask some things about the giveaways. Are they only for the US or is it international? Also, which edition is the one been given away in the case of Metaphor?
I would love for P1&2 to be fully remade, but I'd be surprised if it's anything more than a remaster (well, maybe with some minor changes as p1 having both OSTs, og and PSP, and FINALLY both IS and EP being localized at the same time, hopefully with the EP PSP extra scenarios). Honestly, they don't need Social Links. If they ever got remade it's the gaming mechanics and maybe dungeon design what should be improved. Those make the game unplayable for many new players, specially those not used to old rpgs...
I watched a playthrough of Aegis: The First Mission (with questionable subs), and honestly I was surprised at the content it had? I wasn't expecting any semblance of a story going on further than a excuse for Aigis killing shadows which... I mean, she's literally built for that. But it had it. It's not great, I think a lot of it could have been fleshed out more, but it has good ideas in it, and I definitely ended up attached to the characters. It's worth a shot.
I'm really excited for Metaphor, it looks great! The guest artists seem like great choices too, and the designs from The Garden of Earthly Delights are so haunting! I'm so curious as why those monsters are called humans, I love media that touches on fiction/reality connections and even if I don't know the extent of this in Metaphor the fact that is there draws me a lot to it.
All we've heard about P6 until now sounds great too, but with so little, and not official information I don't really know what to expect about it either.
My giveaways are open to everyone. About half of the winners from my giveaways are from outside the US, so definitely participate if you're interested! With Metaphor, because there is no information on digital deluxe versions, I am sticking with the standard version for now. If there happens to be a digital deluxe edition announced, then I will have the giveaway reflect that version.
I would love to see P1 and P2 get remakes as well, and I hope they focus on elevating what those games currently are without having to expand on it by adding social links and other components of the more modern Persona games. Really looking forward to seeing how these games look!

A remake of the first two Persona games set in the mid to late 90s would be nice, but with Persona 6 on the way in the near future, I can see Atlus just getting them remasters.

Metaphor will also be releasing on PS4 and PS5! Xbox just has the rights to promoting the game, but the game will be available on Xbox, PC, PS4 and PS5. Hope that helps

After the Kanji & Naoto thing, I don't exactly trust Post-P3 ATLUS with anything Jun & Tatsuya related. Honestly I kinda want to see how badly Jun & Tatsuya situationship will get gutted.
Having played all the games recently I can confidently say P1 is great and still holds up today. P2 not so much but I don't think they should spend time remaking it. I'm very tired of remakes.
