- In this video I show you how to install and use most Google apps on #Huawei devices like the #huaweip60pro
For this I am using the app GBox that you can find on the Huawei AppGallery aswell the website gboxlab.com

Yes I am also aware of Lighthouse and GBox even uses it as Lighthouse currently is only possible with certain south east asian Huawei models.

Huawei is great for making life so easy for people who cannot live without Google services, but they like emui and the quality of smartphones. although there is an alternative in the form of honor magic 4 pro / 5 pro global version
The problem that I have with this is lack of availability apps compared to Gspace. Some apps are not listed there and cannot be install. With Gspace not all apps are compatible. Games like Wild rift won't work no matter what
Registering phone as Malaysia has its drawbacks- especially for apps that assign you settings based on Malaysia when you are not in Malaysia
Yea I've been using gbox for a good few months actually, it has gotten much better since its first release.
But I think gspace is more optimized
But gbox is smoother overall

@@MuhammadSohail-ul9jd Battery drainage is pretty solid, it lasts pretty long. Google maps, google itself are available to use. Google play however isn't there yet

Any way to get the Google widget onto the homescreen? It doesn't seem to show up on the list of widgets (nor do any widgets for google apps installed via GBox)

This was great, thank you for the video. I'm interested in getting a Huawei device for myself, but what about apps not available on Huawei? Do we need to install them via apk?
Basically everything Google is not directly available.
Some games and apps that are depending on Google services or american services that Huawei is banned from.

@@calm_candle_wick Some work like Google Maps for example or translate. TH-cam and some others don't as they require Google Play Services.

Gbox Iam using myself so yeah wouldn't if I thought its unsafe.
As for banking apps no clue. Here in Germany they don't even require Google Play for the most part.
@@lltechview ok so its safe to download gbox labs to use google apps for the huawei phones. Can they not access your passwords or whatever u do from there? Also is gbox labs the best way to access google apps on a huawei? And my other concern is that can those such as gbox labs actually access ur bank details each time you access them on your phone
Hi, sorry but on my Mate 50 Pro, GBox is not available on Appgallery (Belgium)... Is it due to a difference between EMUI13.0.0 (my Mate 50 Pro) and EMUI13.1 that is running your P60 Pro ?
I have GBox also available on my Mate 50 Pro. Though my Mate 59 Pro is the chinese variant.
Maybe this app is not available in your region.

They get HarmonyOS or EMUI security updates. It incorporates the Android security patches.

I have a P40 Pro with GBox installed and have Google Apps. My question is about Google Photos. Huawei camera does not have a share facility to Google Photos. Is there a way to upload photos from P40 Pro to my Google Photos account?
If you open google photos you should be able to see your local photos. Otherwise I don’t know how to achieve that. You need to bring them over from your local storage to gbox somehow

I have the Mate X3 and it's an amazing piece of high tech! I've got everything working fine, except Google Calendar which runs, but it's buggy and doesn't sync automatically. Have you been able to get it working correctly?
I am honestly not using Google Calendar since forever. Tried it only out for this video and it worked for a test entry there.
I am using Nextcloud as I have my own nextcloud server here. This one can also import Google Calendar afaik. So maybe a way to also "workaround" the issue.
@@lltechview Using your example with Caldav and it works perfectly! Have now been able to integrate my Huawei fully into my Apple ecosystem with Calendar, contacts, photos and Gdrive. Very happy chappy now!

But if you use your phone with banking apps (hsbc, chase whatever), what can you do then, do you just have to give up on Huawei because big US has decided so? 😢

Do you now some good alternative to Google pay. Huawei pay is not available in Croatia and curve does not want to add my card
The only other service I know is bluecode which is available in Huawei Wallet. But if its not working then you are out of luck.
Stocard is not available anymore and offered a service like curve

Having issues with the latest version of gbox with Google services won't update and playstore apps won't install, also doesn't show the gbox icon showing that it's running in the background.
I installed the a version before the latest update and it has a playstore in it once installed and was able to install game and apps even in game purchases and had the gbox icon showing that it's running in the background, but gbox after not updating to the latest version it forces itself to update and then the play store won't install app and Google services won't update. Kindly help
Just bought Huawei P60 pro yesterday
Thats a version you describe that was running with native GMS. The newest uses Lighthouse a modified microG open source implementation. You need to use Gbox own search instead of playstore

I installed banking apps and they all work fine. I use my Galaxy S23 to download the banking apps. Then I use phone clone to transfer the app to my P60 Pro.

Hey 1st day Everything worked well. The second day gmail stopped working, can't set photos as status on WhatsApp, trying to share photos from Google photos to whatsapp even that's not working and Google photos app doesn't have 'magic eraser, camouflage' feature. Can you please help.
Check if gbox is still running and not killes in the background. Also which version? Maybe ask the Gbox team

@@rahuldravid8723 I only checked version 1.4.6. 1.5.0 is a brand new version maybe it still has some bugs. Try asking the Gbox team. They even have a telegram channel.

Is it also great to get all your photos and private information for sale in the dark web? I mean afterall, you allow a pretty unkown Singapur dev team access to very private data.
Which private data do they get? If you want to you can check the lighthouse apk installed in gbox and you will see it is an unmodified version. Like I stated in the video I think the risk is not very high that they are selling data

Been using gbox on my p60 pro for 2 weeks now. Google apps from gbox do run but not with out hick ups... I cant use google map when i start the direction during travel. I can not even install the updates on google maps.
I use youtube premium and it runs in my P60 pro but i can not install the update... I also can not download videos from youtube. I can not use my youtube library. Those are what i found out after 2 weeks of use.
If you have a chance try to get the 9.9.999 version of GBox which still uses real GMS instead of microG

@@joerhermit6587 Revanced microG is what you need and you should be able to find it as an icon otherwise TH-cam Revanced should bring up the login dialog

You cannot use Google Wallet as it requires safetynet and that only works without a container
By the way gbox and gspace consume battery
Yeah of course like every app. And here an app running multiple apps in a container will definitely use much especially with Google Services.

Has anyone been able to download Google messages yet?
I've tried to live with sideloaded Google but it's just such a pain in the arse. Google Maps always unexpectedly closing, Google Photos closes when im scrolling and some apps just refuse to work. I love my P40 pro but it's better to just have a phone that runs Google natively for Google services.
How did you sideload it? Is it true GMS or Gbox?
With the new microG approach it runs pretty fine. Also I am using GBox since a few months already without any issues. No crashes or such.

I did just now, I've used GBOX before switching to lighthouse and I find that lighthouse is more convenient because it works like micro g.
I understand the frustration of others because of the app limited downloadable region, I lived Malaysia and it took lighthouse nearly 7 months to be downloadable for me. I'm not sure about the future, but I do think Huawei is going to allow more region to download lighthouse in the future.
Besides lighthouse is Huawei recommended app. They even paid tech reviewers in Malaysia to promote this app. I do think Huawei was the one that made lighthouse but they would never admit it.
