  • I just bought a new kettle at Canadian Tire. It is a Hamilton Beach 1.7 L Glass Electric Kettle. If you are in Canada you can find it on the Canadian Tire website. I think this is so cool and futuristic. It was time to finally retire my old Sunbeam 1.7 L electric kettle, it was taking longer to boil ( I think the thermostat was getting tired) and the chance of sloping water on the counter was excellent due to the blunted pour spout. In this video I unbox this beauty and boil it twice - once to clean and the second time to make a decaf coffee (hey it is late at night) to see how it pours.

Thanks, Honey, yes, it is great at pouring without having to mop up a hot water spill.

I have a Cosori brand kettle that is pretty much exactly the same as yours. I love it but the one thing that I do find, is that the scaling builds up on the bottom quickly, so every couple of days I put a tiny bit of vinegar in the bottom to clean it out. The metal mesh filter on the spout also builds up and I have to clean that with vinegar as well. But otherwise, they are really fantastic. The wide top makes it easy to get your hand inside to clean too.

Thanks for watching and sharing your experience with kettles like these. Being glass, I will likely have to clean it more as well. It pours so much better and I am still fascinated watching it boil. LOL though that fascination will wear off at some point.
