Thank you for this tutorial. I recently restored my 20 year old Gran Turismo save file, for use in Retroarch, with the help of this video as a guide. I also own Gran Turismo 2 and other multi disc titles including Resident Evil 2 and Metal Gear Solid. I have worked out how to convert the MCR file into an SRM file including how to name the memory card so that it is recognised by Retroarch. I am wondering if we are stuck having to make multiple copies of the memory card to accommodate for the multi disc naming protocols within Retroarch. With that comes a risk of creating different versions of the save data as time goes on. I.e. the save data on Arcade Mode (Disc 1) for Gran Turismo 2 will be different tot he save data on Gran Turismo Mode (Disc 2). Is there a way to stop this from becoming an issue?

Would you consider doing one for PS2 memory cards? I would love to be able to back up my childhood card and your one of the few people I really trust on this sort of stuff.

      Tutorial:
1.insert usb stick and MemoryCard with FMCB and uLaunchElf into Ps2
      2. Launch uLaunchElf and copy folders from MemoryCard into Mass Folder.

I haven't messed with PS2 saves in particular, but not a bad idea.

Just also recommending Free McBoot from the other comment in this thread. You can easily copy saves and paste them in different formats.
I use it all the time to move saves from PS3, PS2, and even PCSX2.

Have you got a FreeMcBoot memory card? If so, you can put a USB drive in one of the PS2 slots and copy the game saves using ULaunchELF. The copied files will have some pretty indecipherable names but with the USB drive they can be copied to a PC where they can be archived

That is exactly what I have been intending on doing, so would definitely appreciate this. I want to backup my childhood ps2 memory card and put the saves on my PS3.

Great tutorial! I'm glad I found this since I've been trying to get some of my favorite FF9 saves from ePSXe to a physical memory card. Is building a PicoMemcard+ the best method for transferring saves or would modding a PS2 work better?
    Edited some grammar and rephrased.

Having access to a modified PS2 would probably be the best bet for most people, if you already have one.

You can also use modded ps2 to transfer ps1 saves to usb flash and then to pc and vice versa

@@MrMario2011would mind doing a follow up on this using ulaunch to import the saves? Since isn't as straight forward as it sounds, not sure if that got fixed with wlaunch or worked on older versions but, when I did it a while ago I had to copy the saves to my ps2 mc before being able to dump them to usb, and weirdly enough those saves end up as 10kb instead of 8kb

    Another great video. Thanks!
Do you happen to know any storefronts where I can just buy a PicoMemcard? Or just a kit that has everything I need?
I actually have some spare Picos, so even if those aren’t included it would be fine

If you check the GitHub repo, I believe the author at one point was offering to sell the boards for cost + shipping at one point?
