I hiked a route that included Firehole River, Lone Star Geyser, Continental Divide, Twister Falls, Mr Bubbles, Bechler River, Treasure Island, Bechler Canyon, Iris Falls, Colonnade Falls, Bechler Meadows, Rocky Ford, Mountain Ash Creek, Union Falls, Falls River, Pitchstone Plateau, Phantom Fumarole and more.
    Starting from Lone Star Trailhead and ending at Phantom Pitchstone Trailhead the route totaled around 63 miles. My campsites were 8G1, 9B8, 9B1, 9U4 & 8P1.

    This is a wild trip. I think Joey's videos first introduced me to these places. I'm glad you got to check them out in person and appreciate them!

      A One Man's Odyssey x Layne's World collab video in Yellowstone has a nice ring to it!

    Absolutely loved this video. I have watched almost every one of your 'western' videos and this is probably my favorite. Really found it both enjoyable and inspiring. I visited the front country in Yellowstone 9/16 - 9/23 last year and along with some sunny days the weather rained, hailed, and snowed. Not sure exactly what dates you filmed, but it looked beautiful. Great job and some good luck on your part. Thanks for sharing.

      Thanks Daniel I'm glad you found it enjoyable and inspiring. This trip was right after you were there and the weather that time of year can always be unpredictable.

    Well, how to begin. First of all, AWSOME job on the video. You scared me at the first instant you were speaking on camera. The way your hair was tucked and the angle at which the camera was pointed, it looked like you had cut all your hair back. My wife said, "Oh, no! He had such magnificent hair!" She's okay now, though. I don't know how many people realize this, but you crossed that river THREE times to get that shot. That's dedication! Lastly, I know you understand how truly blessed you are to be able to do these trips, and we consider ourselves blessed to "know" you. Thanks again!

      That's funny Pop Pop no haircut for me! Thanks for noticing that, it was about 15 minutes total in the water over the 3 trips. But I think the shot turned out cool so it was worth it

    Great video!! Did alot of this trip early September before you. The second spur at Union Falls ends at what I've been told is Scout Pool. Great swimming hole.

      September seems like the best time to go through that part of the Park. You're correct it is Scout/Ouzel Pool

    Fantastic video Layne. I could feel your enjoyment at Mr Bubbles. Glad you had so many great sights all to yourself. Fifteen weeks of backpacking - that is impressive. Can’t wait for your Glacier videos!

    Nice vid! I've had a similar trip in my back pocket for years, and have plans to make it happen in 2027. Seems like a long time, but it's when I foresee having a month of free time, and I don't want to do Yellowstone for just a week. Fun side note, I was in those Tetons the week before when they got that snow you were admiring. Good times, and cheers to another adventure!

      Sounds like an awesome plan to spend a good chunk of time immersed in Yellowstone. I feel quite confident it will still be there for you in 2027 - if not we probably have much bigger problems. Right after this trip I went down to the Tetons and car camped at Shadow Mountain one night

    cool video! I'm headed into Union Falls and the Firehole area this summer so it was nice to see some of what I'm about to get into. Next time you're at Union Falls you should check out Morning Falls. I'd also recommend you come check out Eagle Cap in Oregon sometime. Lots of wilderness and not many people go there outside of a couple popular trails... and no crazy permitting like in the National Parks

    • @LayneComfort
      @LayneComfort  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Very cool enjoy Union! There are quite a few places I'd like to check out more in that corner of the Park, will add Morning to the list. One day I'll make it up to the PNW and do some exploring

    I always enjoy your videos, especially the ones of Yellowstone. What is your favorite area of Yellowstone? The Thoroughfare area is on my bucket list. Kudos to you crossing the cold Bechler river twice at 25:30, having to go back and get your camera

    • @LayneComfort
      @LayneComfort  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It is tough to pick a favorite area, each corner of the Park has their own personality. The Thorofare is special to me it is definitely worth checking out. 3 crossings of the cold river - across once, back for the camera, across twice!

      Thanks Steve. In the past I've flown out and rented. These days I'm out west for such long chunks that I drive
